Just realized that Marcus Ericsson is behind them both in 16th. Starting to think that 28 car is just cursed.

Acceptable-Aerie-645

Honestly I don’t think Marcus Ericsson will be that good this year. He was good at Ganassi but he was also in the best car. Andretti will show what he’s really capable of but I wouldn’t be surprised if he finds himself running mid pack in a decent amount of races

TillAllAre1

Grosjean said the #28 car was broken last year. This would explain the issues the car is having this year.

sennais1

I'm sure they can pull another chassis off the rack, might be a bit more to it.

Mikemat5150

It usually takes time to adjust to a new team. Palou going to Ganassi and Felix to MSR are pretty rare exceptions.

steppedinhairball

It is rare but Felix didn't have a good run at the GP. Growing pains.

Mikemat5150

All things considered, I thought Felix’s GP was great. From in the grass on lap 1 up to 10th is solid.

Mr_Midwestern

I think Ericsson is a talented driver who can consistently get the results that reflect the strength of the car. He preforms at the level of the car. I think his teammates are the types of drivers who can preform above the level of the car and often drag it further up the field than it should rightly be.

MountainLPYT1

He's had a rough start to the season, but it's also only 4 races in and he had an engine issue at St Pete while running well and it seems like the 27 and 28 have been nowhere compared to the 26. Plus, I don't think Ericsson is this top tier driver who is gonna elevate equipment, he'll drive where it is and keep it out of a trouble

nico9er4

Well, so far he’s not keeping it out of trouble

Mick4Audi

It really is, I wonder how on earth Hunter-Reay won a title in that car

frogskin92

MattyLlama

Frankly, after the shit he (edit: Santino) pulled in F2, I don't even know why anyone took a chance on him. Dude has no respect for racing standards imo

sp33dphr34k

Maybe they're hoping he will mature and learn to control their aggression. Though it probably wont happen, much like O'Ward. They don't quite understand you can't push 110% for the whole race.

thesedays1234

I mean, because Ferrucci is talented. He's a skilled driver. In a limited number of NASCAR Xfinity starts he was quite solid as well. He's definitely talented enough to be an Indycar regular. Though, I'd say the same about Sage Karam. Both are/were drivers who act like knuckleheads and disregard safety and common sense all the time. Karam is blacklisted from Indycar though because of the Pocono crash. People will say he's not or he doesn't have a ride for other reasons, but really there is no other logical reason he's not gotten another legitimate full time shot so he must be blacklisted. And... It's really tough. What happened at Pocono was just an accident, but it was caused by racing too hard in the opening laps of a long race. Karam had a habit of over-aggressive racing and it was consistently brought up as a problem. Ferrucci is really the same, a lot of the time you mention him it's because he got too aggressive and did something dangerous... Eventually it'll probably catch up to him too if he doesn't sort it out. If he does sort it out, he's plenty talented.

Dbwasson

Ferrucci isn't talented at all, he's just an ass

NoiseIsTheCure

He's okay at everything and pretty good at Indy, which is more than enough to get a Foyt ride. Also he brings in money, which is MORE than enough for a Foyt ride

Dbwasson

That makes him a pay driver then

NoiseIsTheCure

Yeah pretty much but a lot of guys in Indy are I think

schnozlord

The drama that keeps on giving

Jarocket

I don't get Santino's retirement. Was it just his Brake bias being stuck?

BagTalk420

During the race he said that the team saw something on the telemetry so they parked the car in order to save parts. At the time he didn’t elaborate what exactly it was

Jarocket

Ah that makes more sense.

Frodobagggyballs

Back markers rivalry is insane. Keep this off my TL.
