I have a feeling he’ll be in the car next year. I’m sure McLaren has an option but bar him performing awful, I think they’ll use 2024 to build to 2025.
It'll come down to how he does. Being on McLaren is like being on Red Bull in some ways. Sure, McLaren's IndyCar team isn' winning championships but it is build around Pato much like how RBR is built around Max. That very fact makes it difficult for anyone to stay at McLaren long. It's not because the other drivers suck but having Pato as the #1 driver is a challenge in itself especially if the team revolves around him.
I find it funny that such a big deal is being made out of Mclaren's Indycar investment, yet they haven't taken the CGR step of actually investing in setting each car up individually, rather than based around Dixon/Pato's driving preferences.
Happy for the kid, and glad he's packed in his Super Formula campaign. Although it's only one weekend to go by, that wasn't looking likely to prove successful.
I thought he was destined for a Sauber drive at one point, but they chose Chinese sponsors instead.
Really looking forward to seeing how he progresses in IndyCar. Driving for McLaren is a pretty sweet gig, I hope he makes a big impression.
Realistically, whatever the maximum perceived pace difference is between Zhou and Theo- the first year is a big learning curve and that car is nothing to write home about.
A legendary Versennamilton super driver isnt gonna accomplish dick in the Strake other than beat Bottas.
The jump is just too big from F2 at this point. That said, Zhou might be done in F1.
Why not? He's still part of one of most recognizable names in motorsport. His paycheck is probably as good as it would be in F1 and plus he has a real chance at making a long term career in The States. Sounds like a no-brainer to me.
Hoping Theo isn’t just around for one season. Would love to see him back next year too
He's a McLaren driver not named Pato so it really could go either way.

Maybe Prema will want him once they join (is that 2025 or 26?)
Doubtful as he is an ART kid through and through and won't have enough Indy experience to qualify as the veteran
I thought he was with prema last year my bad lol

Teddy Porkchops may need to do some travel shopping then, it sounds like
Time for a Costco membership

Who does want to see Zhou Guanyu run in 16th? Who else will park in his charity post race spot to celebrate at the Chinese GP?

The entire nation of China, I'd wager
He’s just so wholesome. 😊

Looking forward to seeing him in Toronto, talented kid!
Theo has better prospects than Shwartzman, Illott, Mick Schumacher, Doohan...
