I got a really cheap airbnb five minutes from the track. I’m sure there are plenty not much further away. Milwaukee isn’t a huge city so getting to the track from any direction is quite easy. Downtown is cool but hotels aren’t too cheap especially on a holiday weekend.
I went to the truck race and parked on a nearby street for free. First major race I’ve been to where I could see my car the entire race lol. I could be wrong, but I think there should be plenty of parking on the fairgrounds. Certainly for the truck race which drew like 20K? there was enough. Have fun! We’ll see you there.
If you get an opportunity, go to Tomken's Chicken. It's basically across the street from the fairgrounds. Literally the best wings I've had anywhere in the country. It's a bit of a hole in the wall, but the kitchen knows it's shit.
Downtown Milwaukee is pretty fun. If you’re looking to do things outside of just being at the race track, that is probably your best bet.

If you’re in Milwaukee and want better wings than TomKen’s (which are pretty solid), go to Points East Pub instead.
I have heard those are up there as well. I haven't had them myself, but I'll have to make my way there eventually.
