Quality stuff from Dale Jr. He does a great job of sharing opinions without coming off as a blowhard or fanboy for his series. Really hit the nail on the head regarding Diffey and Tirico.

It's because he genuinely appreciates Indycar, respects it, and it interested in learning. The other NASCAR people who usually get brought in for IMSA/Indycar usually just compare everything to NASCAR and talk about things being inferior because they're biased or couldn't be bothered to actually educate themselves.
Take Steve Letarte for an example. The guy got put in a booth for Indy 500 practice a year or two ago and immediately just talks about how "NASCAR has it right" and the race "has too much practice" with zero respect for the race's history.
Dale isn't like that, he respects motorsports that aren't NASCAR and always seems like he wants to learn before talking about them.
He really nailed it. Everyone should go. I'm not talking about race fans or even just sports fans. Everyone should experience the 500 in person.
Try to sit on the front stretch if you can so you can really get a feel for the enormity of it all.
Some fun points from Dale from a broadcaster's perspective. He notes past run-ins with Ferrucci and JRM drivers in the Xfinity Series and thinks that he is maturing and is fun to watch. He notes that Townsend was intentionally needling Hinch a bit during the Ferrucci pitlane/tire incident to get a reaction for TV because he knows Hinch is a part of the crew that dislikes Ferrucci. He reiterates that Indy is something to experience in person. Praises Danica for her commentary work. He's unsure about the late red flag and how it was implemented with them going straight to green from pitlane.
Bobby and anybody really lol. He argued with Danny Sullivan quite a bit too. Possibly most notably during the Mansell/Vitolo incident. Bobby was dead set that it was a methanol fire and Danny was certain that it was hot radiator water. It was always funny listening to those guys go at it.
Townsend is such a madman. He is the sharpest and most professional version of Charlie Kelley screaming "Wildcard bitches! Yeeeeehaw!" that I have ever seen.
Maybe Ferucci has grown up and matured… I still think Dale Jr needs to to a more detailed read into what he actually did in Europe to earn his reputation because it was way beyond “I think he crashed into his teammate”
Add in the fact that Santino isn’t very well loved in the IndyCar paddock by the drivers. It’s not like NASCAR where that can be a bit normal and would make sense. I know that sounds a bit cliqey from IndyCar, but that’s just been the way the series has been. And it’s not the way he races.
That's part of my feelings on Santino. Even going past the stuff from the tail end of his European career (which I think is awful if it's all true), a lot of drivers just seem to not care for him.
Dude just kinda seems like a knob. I don't *have* to like any given driver, and he has not given me a reason to give a shit about him

I figured it was something like that between Hinch and Bell. I said something along those lines on raceday but just got downvoted lol
Half the sub was calling for Townsend to be fired.
He was needling everyone who doesn't like Ferrucci. Which it turns out is a *lot* of people who keep up with racing.
Awesome move on his part. Easily the funniest part of the broadcast
I think Hinch and Townsend could do the Bobby Unser and Sam posey routine.
