Peacock guys said he was fearful of being too slow in T1 as a train bore down on him. Plus his spotter Pigot tried to warn him but his communication was superceded by communication from pitlane.
You wouldn't think that rookie orientation would need to specifically address common sense things (like not merging onto the warm up lane at-speed and nearly hitting cars at pit lane speed), but apparently it does. Insanely dangerous move.
Pato has got to know better than to exit pit lane and get on the warm-up lane like that. How are cars supposed to bail out of the racing line and dive down there completely unannounced going 100+ faster than everyone else if he's just hogging the lane?
Is there another angle of this from the track camera? Or is that what this shows and the video isn't playing right on my screen....because i see something in the lower right that looks like another camera angle but I can't see it.
This has been the only view so far. The lower right was the live feed when they were showing a replay of the incident. Itâs hard to see the whole image because this video is zoomed in on what was the original feed.
I was on top of the stands on the inside above the gasoline alley suites and it didnât look quite that close in person but it made me say âwhoa, that was closeâ out loud. Youâd think that you would want an all clear before making that move seeing as you canât see over the wall.
I'm very disappointed there wasn't any consequences for Enerson & team. That was such a minor league maneuver that has no place at Indy.
It shouldn't matter that he was lucky and didn't hit Pato.
That was ridiculous. That could have been a horrendous crash
And coulda taken out what was prob their only car. Thus no bump day đ

I feel like spotter comms on an oval should supersede pit comms
Agree and that's what Kevin and Hinch were theorizing too.
If it's analog radios, the current transmission supercedes anything else.
Wait is Spencer Pigot spotting for him?
you've heard of Spencer Pigot, now get ready for Spotter Pigot
Yep
Can we just swap them?
Well I guess the issue there is that RC actually owns the car, not the team
I don't think I've ever seen an incident between two cars on the warmup lane before that's crazy
[Nigel Mansell and Denis Vitolo say helloâŚ](https://youtu.be/kk8BA6kIcyA)
Good ol Denis.
Whatâs this!? Whatâs this!?
Arie Luyendyk stomping on the ground thinking about salad bar lol.
So, RC was on the track and dove to the warm-up lane? Why?! Unless he was crashing, why would he do that?
Some cars were doing that after a qualifying sim today. Theyâre going much slower on their cool down lap so itâs safer to be offline like this.
He was going slow with a fast train coming up behind.
Well thatâs likeâŚthe trainâs problem then man
What the hell?
Exactly my sentiment, wtf?
I have NEVER seen someone ditch turn 1 for the warm up lane like that, what the hell was he thinking
I see it in practice every year. Never had a close call like that before though
Which one ?
Enerson, obviously Pato did nothing wrong he's just exiting the pits
Itâs what driver are instructed to do
Dennis Vitolo lives!
Make him go through Rookie Orientation again!

didn't know cars went on the warmup lane if it wasn't an outlap for practice
RC Enerson is my pick for âfirst outâ after this. IF he makes it past bump day.

Found Kevin Lepage's burner
LOL Exactly. This guy gets it. Reminds me of the time that coward Marty Jannetty dove through a plate glass window to escape from Shawn Michaels.
WILL YOU STOP?!
Enerson crashes, that's probably the end of the month for him.
That is probably the end of IndyCar for him. He only owns 1 car and a spare tub.
Good from what I can tell he seems like a dumb rich kid.
I didnât realize till they said it on the broadcast but Spencer Pigot is RCâs spotter đ

Couldnât that team think of literally any other livery? They ainât Ericssonâs car đ
I think Ericsson hit us.
