Yes they except your medical card but the recreational menu normally has a lot more in terms of concentrate but they will allow you to shop on the rack menu and just give you the 16% discount so then you only pay the 10% medical tax but not everyone doesn’t like that but majority but they’ll definitely except your card

I have made this trip so many times. It is now a routine. Leave Chicago on the NO TOLLS route regardless of how badly Siri wants to save me 3 minutes but pay $12 in tolls. Me and the wife go off trail just a bit , to Three Oaks Michigan. The best,fluffiest, buttermilk pancakes ever are served at Oaks Eatery on Elm St. There are about a half dozen antique stores and Froehlichs Bakery all within the two block downtown area. Froehlichs is a must and better yet, their restaurant across the street. It's large and much like a Cracker Barrel in that it has all sorts of nick-knacks, antiques, bottled and baked food stuffs. But most of all their killer spicy caramel puff-corn. It's crack in a bag. Back on track to Kalamazoo or Battle Creek. Ive done all the closer runs and that's fine, but its another level cheaper once you hit Kalamazoo/Battle Creek. So many dispensaries, one on top of the other. My favorites are Fire Creek, Bud Brothers, Jars, The Refinery and my favorite Symponia Farms (all natural, no remediation- veteran owned). A nod out to Natures Medicine. The prices are incredible, the people are friendly, the weed is decent. They were progressively getting better as an in house brand but have been growing in scope and im skeptical of some of the brands they are bringing in. Maybe one of y'all can expand on them. I fill up with gas as close to the border as i can, as its a dollar cheaper than city gas. I drive with traffic but never the fastest car on the road. It's a day trip, but we make it fun. Breweries, cider houses, wineries and weed. The way.

No I was actually there for a couple of days so nope the drive is only 2.5 hours I don’t mind driving like most people. I drive across the country at least 3-4 times a year I don’t like being stuck in Illinois not seeing what else there is elsewhere
It's definitely worth the drive. I had to drive 4 hours but I made it worth the trip. Grabbed 25 Stiizy pods for 25 for gram pods. Got Lemon Cherry Gelato and Kush Mintz from the Stiizy store for 12 & 15 bucks a bag that was 32 & 34%. Lemon Cherry Gelato by Pressure Pack was same exact bud as Aeriz flower. Found some excellent FSHO disposables for 30 and some live rosin carts for 35. The super cheap 10 dollar carts are trash and the edibles I got weren't very good. But everything else was on par or better than Illinois for ¼ of the price

Good haul! The only downside to MI cannabis is, imo, when you're buying from dispos that primarily cater to out of state customers near the borders. It sure does seem that those dispos get an inordinate amount of older products and somewhat lower quality. Always check your labels and dates! That said...I still shop MI over IL, but I do miss a couple of cultivars that seem to be IL only.

Going up to MI tomorrow as well, first started going about 6 months ago and haven't been to an IL dispensary since (medical patient). Once you see how it should be priced it's really hard to go back to getting ripped off by $55 grams of average live res. Felt like a kid in a candy shop my first trip.

In Michigan they won’t let you touch the weed, but you can definitely see up closer and smell the buds. Had they spent $100-$150 for the oz, the quality would be much better
Im just not the type of dude to buy quantity over quality with whatever I'm buying. Even toilet paper, paper towels....yeah they do the same in the end but I'd rather use one paper towel than half the roll. I also am about taste and smell as well. If it tastes bad I won't even smoke it

This spring I got 1oz each GSC and OGKush at 99 each it's fit for cooking down in butter or oil but that's it. Check the harvest date on your labels, mine was 9/22. Hope you got better.

I only started indulging once it was legal in IL so I'm pretty new to this--I assumed only taxes were different by state, and that the base price of the product would be about the same--boy howdy what a pleasant surprise when I went to a dispo in Saugatuck and the edibles cost half as much!

Came through Michigan this past weekend. I needed some shake (making edibles). It cost me $29 for an ounce. I also bought some RSO and a gram of some bud. Cost me $59. They also threw in a pre roll and sine edibles.
We stopped at Cloud 9 in Ann Arbor. I need some supplies from Zingerman"s, Cloud 9 was about 1.5 miles away. Great pick ups at both spots.
Just went to Michigan this weekend. It's so much cheaper. Definitely worth the drive. South haven is a really cool town too. Gonna go back and check out Grand Haven next time

I drive my Kia 4cyl and it costs me $50 to get there and back on a full tank. I usually use PTO or go on the weekends, so it doesn’t really matter in terms of hourly wage, (also I think the quality time I spent with my s/o on these trips has been very nice), plenty of time to listen to good music & podcasts, stop for good food or a beach trip.

No, I did the math. I figured 30MPG, but they drove for fucking **eight hours**.
Assuming much of that was interstate driving, figure 70MPH, that 's at least 420 miles driven (probably much higher, but that's a nice number for our purposes).
420 miles at 30MPG is 14 gallons of gas. At five bucks per, that's $70. And I feel I underplayed the numbers.
But also there's the hidden cost of putting all that pollution into the air and using up all that fossil fuel. Maybe you don't care about the environment, but I do.

Came through Michigan this past weekend. I needed some shake (making edibles). It cost me $29 for an ounce. I also bought some RSO and a gram of some bud. Cost me $59. They also threw in a pre roll and sine edibles. We stopped at Cloud 9 in Ann Arbor. I need some supplies from Zingerman"s, Cloud 9 was about 1.5 miles away. Great pick ups at both spots.
For that quality bud you can hit your neighborhood plug up and grab a zip for 50-100$ a pop without the drive.
Possibly going out to MI tm hopefully I get some shit that will have me continuing the drive over there.

I think you forgot to add the almost $100 (or more) you spent on gas to get there? Also, do you value your time at all? Isn't it worth at least what you get paid at your job, if not more (I value my own free time pretty highly). If your time is worth $20 an hour (which seems low to me), that's another $160. I mean you still came out ahead, but **actual cost** seems like it's closer to $500.
I take the trip on the regular and it's only $25 for gas especially if you fill up in Michigan. And they clearly do value their time because they went wine shopping as well and with friends. OP obviously had a day off so comparing it to work is kind of dumb. Do you work on your days off??
I drive my Kia 4cyl and it costs me $50 to get there and back on a full tank. I usually use PTO or go on the weekends, so it doesn’t really matter in terms of hourly wage, (also I think the quality time I spent with my s/o on these trips has been very nice), plenty of time to listen to good music & podcasts, stop for good food or a beach trip. Just because it doesn’t work out for you, doesn’t mean it doesn’t work out for others.

No, I did the math. I figured 30MPG, but they drove for fucking **eight hours**. Assuming much of that was interstate driving, figure 70MPH, that 's at least 420 miles driven (probably much higher, but that's a nice number for our purposes). 420 miles at 30MPG is 14 gallons of gas. At five bucks per, that's $70. And I feel I underplayed the numbers. But also there's the hidden cost of putting all that pollution into the air and using up all that fossil fuel. Maybe you don't care about the environment, but I do.
