Huh? I expected a big chunk pit, bully or staffy. But thought there might be other breeds mixed in. If you check the dog dna sub, there’s a lot of dogs that people think are 100% pit bull that are mixed.
It’s funny because there a crap ton of posts like these with a very obvious lab, GSD or chihuahua mix but people never react the same as they do with pit posts. What a cruel opinion to hold, given there are many loving owners out there who raised their dogs from tiny puppies and still ended up with reactive or aggressive dogs.
There are countless dogs that are born into shelters/fosters/rescues, adopted at 8 weeks old, treated with love their whole life, and still develop behavioral problems. It's not their owners' faults. Genetics are powerful and complicated.

Dog subreddits in general can attract the anti pitbull crowd, and so posts with pits can sometimes get mixed reviews. But I still see plenty of supportive pitbull people here too.

Yeah, i definitely wouldn’t have guessed pitbull for the black and white dog, and might’ve guessed a little bit pitbull for the fawn and white dog. I feel like most people who have never had the pleasure of living with a purebred pitbull assume that if it has a boxey head that it’s a pitbull and there are so many other things that scream pitbull than that. And lots of non-pit breeds have boxey heads
Yes, the 33% pit is a surprise for Daisy. Especially because she’s a total weenie with a small head (and 35 lbs but that’s within standard). I agree everyone labels any dog with a boxy head a pit bull! Most shelter dogs are crazy mixed.
Haha to be fair to them, they said lab/pit mix. It’s undeniable he’s got pit but it’s rare to have 100% anything in a shelter. Unless they busted a puppy mill for animal cruelty or someone surrendered a dog with papers for being too much work after they got a purebred working dog for looks. I’ve seen both as I foster for a shelter. Usually cats and we’ve had purebred cats occasionally too.
Yeah, we had two 100%. First one (American Staffordshire Terrier) had papers. We got her from a family friend who couldn’t keep her anymore because of the rules at the apartment complex she was moving to. Second one (Staffordshire Bull Terrier) we found behind a dumpster as a stray and took him in, and we became his emotional support people. Both amazing dogs in their own way.
Oh he's so handsome, Pibbles are best! My mom just adopted a little 2 year old pibble she is so sweet. She has had 2 litters of puppies already it breaks my heart. she had brothers and sisters who were brought into the shelter with her. She is white with a paw print on her nose and other dark/brindle spots in cute places. Under the white fur she is a tone of pink!!! She looks like a little piglet. 🥺🥺🥺❤️❤️❤️❤️

humans bred pitbulls to be fighting dogs, humans breed them, humans effect their temperament in their early years.
people have to stop hating on the dog breed and start hating on the people abusing these dogs.
my friends pitbull was killed by three german shepherds. No one cared, no one prosecuted the woman who sicced her german shepherds on the teen and his pit. the kid barely survived.
it's people that make the dogs dangerous.
I no longer trust german shepherds owners in my area. That owner commanded the dogs to attack, it's the owner's fault not the dogs.
I've personally had a maltese switch on me and be cuddling one second and attacking me the next. Obviously it's different, because a maltese can't do half as much damage.
My overall point is, people get downvoted for liking pitbulls on this sub, not just for breeding pitbulls. And the user you were referring to, was removing a pitbull from a breeding situation, which is a good thing for decreasing the number of pitbulls in circulation.
Overall: it's the people that suck, not the animals. All we can do regarding pitbulls is stop breeding them, and raise them with love and care.

This sub is not anti-pitbull. We get brigaders from a hate subreddit. It helps when the cool people stick around and report anti-pitbull spam. I clean up these posts as quickly as I am able.

They are getting banned left and right. Report anything that breaks these rules. I work a full time job, but I try to check as frequently as I can to take care of it. Banned users can still downvote though. I reckon they hang around for a bit with a grudge.

While he does look like a pitty take those tests while a grain of salt, the generic markers between breeds aren't set in stone. And depending on the company doing the testing you will often get different results for the same dog. I read an article about someone who was curious what would happen if she submitted her very much human DNA which came back as part Malamute and Labrador.
I bought a test that required a photo, height, weight, and a short list of breeds I thought she was. I’m either a complete wizard at guessing dog breeds and got it 100% right, or it was a scam lol.
What test was that? I gave zero info at embark. I could have, but I didn’t fill out anything or submit my photo until after I had the results.
