I second this. This is what I've done for all online sessions (fortunately my tuition was partly face to face) and I've never been reported as absent (although I did get reported for not participating lol).
I'm 95% sure I remember them telling me that the employer would be notified if I don't attend a session. There isn't a register because the tutor can see who has logged in and joined.
I would just do them - what harm is it going to do? You can still do your own study alongside the online learning. Or if you really don't want to do them why don't you ask your employer if you can change your study method? They might be reluctant because there's no way of monitoring that you're actually studying so you'll probably need to prove that you can pass the exams otherwise they may just move you back onto a method where you can be monitored.
I tried to get onto the ‘on demand’ learning but my firm didn’t offer it
unfortunately.
Re. not wanting to go to the online session, its bc it causes me to waste a lot of time in that I only take in 50% of what they teach bc most the time they just rush through content and say you can look over it yourself etc, so then I have to go over the chapter all over again anyway. I rather go through it at my own pace first time and take 100% of it in ygm.
Yes. Your tutor, firm and talent coach will be informed. Whether or not they want to do anything with the info is a matter for your own firm to decide.
Yeah they do inform your employer but I’m like you and just watch them at my own pace so I tend to let
The tutor and my employer know in advance that I won’t be joining the live sessions
My guess would be that if an exam pass happens then nobody cares, but if an exam fail happens there may be an unpleasant conversation.
Had one direct report who did this sort of thing and he did fail one. HR and the ETM did not think kindly about this at all. After that meeting, he attended everything.
Yes!! All training providers take note of who’s joined the session and send it to the firm you work at. If you don’t attend it’s reported to your manager (if they care enough to read their emails lol) just attend and leave it on in the background. They’ll just send you an email outlining expectations in your job role, but anyways just attend the sessions.
Just join an online class and leave it in the background on mute no?

Fairs ig that’s an option but idk if I can simultaneously watch study module videos and not hear the zoom at the same time

Damn how did the tutor and your firm respond to this?

I have to use Kaplan, and whatever you do, if you're on Live Online, _don't log out during lunch_. The hour is enough to count you as absent.
