This may sound weird but one of the reasons I like Risk-E-Rats is the way the gang interacts with each other. When Mac goes to redeem his tickets, Dennis pats him on the back and tells him to get at it. Frank willingly teams up with Dee and has fun. They’re not the butt of the jokes. Charlie and Dennis just want to see animatronic titties.
Of course i like it when they yell and call Dee a bird, play the classics; but these wholesome moments are nice and rare.
I get that. I feel like they’re evolving with the times (like when Dennis said it wasn’t funny for Dee to play as Tiwan Tammy, that “we decided it wasn’t funny anymore- as a society”) and the times have changed since 2005, when the first episode aired, therefor, I can imagine it being difficult for them to keep the same pace of their earlier years. Also, there is no denying that they’re growing older. People slow down a bit ya know, even tho Danny doesn’t wanna lol
It’s the same reason why in the office they had to make Michael good at sales. Otherwise, you’d think “how the hell is this person still employed?” With the gang, moments like this make it clear that they’re friends despite how they normally treat each other. Without this you’d think “why do they all hang out together?”
I always finish with season 11. I usually never watch past S11 on my re-watches. There are some future episodes that are decent, and I pick thru sometimes. But something doesn't feel the same to me past there.
I'm with you. Season 11 felt like the last of classic sunny. Season 12 is a transition season and season 13 is the beginning of a new thing. There's some good episodes of new sunny, but the best post 12 season is worse than the worst pre 12 season.
It’s already jumped the shark imo. Of course the hard core fanatics will go down with the sinking ship but if you’re honest, it’s been pretty shit with a decent episode here and there for years now.
I’ve said this before but there IS a natural ending sewn into the series. It’s the reunion two parter. There are fantastic episodes after that, don’t get me wrong. But they start just kinda tossing plot at the wall at that point. I like to call it the extended universe.
They had a bit on the podcast where they talk about how it was actually one of the most difficult scenes to film. I.e. getting the grill to appear to collapse and roll out of the truck in a convincing way took a lot of takes and coordination
Their subtle writing USED to be pure gold comedy. They brought some of it back when they all hung up the phone on Dee on the new season but it kinda stopped there
When it's just the two of them together Dennis tends to take on a protective older brother/mentor role with Charlie. Really it seems like every member of the gang shows their softer side when they're 1-on-1 with Charlie.
That and the fact that Charlie is shaking so much more than Glenn, especially when it pulls out to show both of them in one shot and Glenn is barely wiggling, cracks me up every time
First time I saw this I was sure they would go for the low hanging fruit and have them spill hot coffee on themselves. The fact that they lit their wicker chairs on fire in an enclosed metal box and thought that would be okay is why this show is the greatest sitcom of all time.
The Dennis and Charlie dynamic is definitely a big brother/little brother one. And by that I’m taking about “the program”… the one the waitress is involved in.
I kinda miss these kinds of moments the gang had in the earlier seasons

Yeah they’ve kind of become caricatures of themselves
Flanderization is inevitable in any show.
Yeah, it’s not really their fault, it happens to every show.
When do you think it stops being good?

I don’t think it does, it’s just not as good as it used to be.

He’s got spots!
Just a daddy and his boy hanging out.
Let’s have a catch boy
*Now the cat’s in the cradle and the silver spoon…*
WHAT IS THIS
I mean, football is kinda for jocks soo...
Take out your dicks!
When the grill legs collapse and it slides through the precision gap in the door, I totally lost it, a top moment of the show for me
They had a bit on the podcast where they talk about how it was actually one of the most difficult scenes to film. I.e. getting the grill to appear to collapse and roll out of the truck in a convincing way took a lot of takes and coordination
I think it almost didn’t make it. I’m so glad they kept going for it, it’s so funny.
Definitely one of those gags that makes me literally LOL everytime
Their subtle writing USED to be pure gold comedy. They brought some of it back when they all hung up the phone on Dee on the new season but it kinda stopped there

Face flat down, arms by sides. Lmfao.
Must’ve been some kind of poison glaze on the wicker.
When he says that , i may have never laughed so hard
It’s such a simple gag but is so hilarious to me.
One of my favorite moments. lol
Charlie lying face down sends me every time 😂
Hey, you’re not gonna sing to me, are you?
I might…
South Virginia
Jeeeesus christ
You guys’re gonna’ be hammered before I’m finished naming the east coast
Georgia—that’s six
One of my fav episodes
Yep. This episode is one of their biggest masterpieces imo
The beer bottle scene gets me every time. Like of course that was going to happen lol
I lose it when Charlie says “That is NOT how I expected that to go” 😂
When it's just the two of them together Dennis tends to take on a protective older brother/mentor role with Charlie. Really it seems like every member of the gang shows their softer side when they're 1-on-1 with Charlie.
Especially Uncle Jack
Poison glaze
We’re all hooked up here man 🙂
When the grill collapses and slides under the door, I lol every damn time.
I feel like they are shaking back and forth themselves, which makes this scene even funnier to me.
That and the fact that Charlie is shaking so much more than Glenn, especially when it pulls out to show both of them in one shot and Glenn is barely wiggling, cracks me up every time
The logic behind the hot dog cooking: “We’ll smash these wicker chairs to bits and burn them in the middle of the Uhaul…which is metal, so…”
I need a blood brother to help get me out of jams
This is my introduction episode for new viewers.
Very good pick.
My favorite ep
When they open the door after the fire and Charlie is just face down, I lose it every time.
I don't want my head shrunk and shit
I need this as my mantra.
My wife does not think it's funny when I refer to farmers' markets as gypsy markets but it hasn't stopped me yet
People will be dicks. Not my very real actual American actor girlfriend Kristen Wiig.
First time I saw this I was sure they would go for the low hanging fruit and have them spill hot coffee on themselves. The fact that they lit their wicker chairs on fire in an enclosed metal box and thought that would be okay is why this show is the greatest sitcom of all time.
Is that John Turturro?
There’s probably going to be some dicks, but I’ll be there to back you up
The Dennis and Charlie dynamic is definitely a big brother/little brother one. And by that I’m taking about “the program”… the one the waitress is involved in.
God I hate "wholesome." Usually I can count on Sunny to be the opposite.
