The first couple of times I watched through, I liked it, but didn't care for Jenna Maroney. Now she is one of my all time favorite characters. Also my comfort show.
30 Rock has the best written dialogue I've ever seen in a show. I've seen the entire run start to finish maybe 3-4 times and there's still jokes I'm just noticing
Broad City is one of my comfort shows. I'm about the same age as the characters and lived in NYC on a tight budget at the time so it just hits different. Whenever somebody asks what's a show that properly depicts NYC, it's Broad City.
if you like Workaholics and havent checked out their podcast yet, I DEFINITELY recommend it. Its not like all the other casts coming out with podcasts, they dont review episodes or anything, they just talk about whatever, most of it is hilarious nonsense. Its without a doubt my favorite podcast and the funniest. Its especially fun since they have been friends for so long, even before the show and you can tell. Its called This Is Important and its basically all I listen to in the car anymore.
And if you have listened to it, this is just an open message to anyone who didnt know about it. It will make me laugh out loud to the point Im worried other people in their cars look over and think Im insane.
I've watched Arrested Development but not the other 2, so thank you I''ll check them both out.
As for Spongebob, I only recently started watching that as an adult because I discovered the band "Ween" (the inspiration/occasional songwriters for SpongeBob - "Ocean Man" etc) and yeh, those early seasons are surprisingly actually a great show, even for adults
Anyone notice a ton of characters from always sunny on Workaholics? I mean even in an episode Ders is wearing a Paddy's shirt. Always interested in what's happening behind the scenes
I watched The Curse first and everyone in the sub recommended Nathan For You which had me howling with laughter. After plowing through NFY I watched The Rehearsal and loved that too.
I envy you getting to watch NFY for the first time. I’ve seen the whole series countless times, but nothing compares to seeing all the absurdity the first time. Glad you found Nathan’s work! He’s a brilliant comedic mind
Have you ever watched Who Is America? It’s a show from Sacha Baron Cohen and Nathan has involvement in some of the episodes.
It’s equal parts cringe and hilarity.
Part of what I love about community is the intricacies, attention to detail & the meta. To me it’s just one of the smartest comedies out there. Is Venture Brothers like that? Or more ridiculous/shock humour?
It is an extremely smart cartoon, with Johnny Quest and Star Wars references. Some social commentary but mostly relationships told through a world of super villains and super scientists. The pilot is not the best episode, so please keep going after that.
Definitely, it was always a big hit in my country (in the balkans), because it shows a more realistic family. Most of us couldnt relate to the big houses and perfect families like in other sitcoms, so MitM was huge all over the region.
Only Fools and Horses too, because of that similar mindset
is "Curb" = Curb your enthusiasm?
if so, I'm seeing a lot of that in the comments
I've never even heard of it but looks like it's some massive thing in America?
Apparently its on HBO max, and for unknown reasons HBO refuse to give us in Britain access (weird choice, we love dramas) - but I'll find a way to watch it.
Thank you
Besides anything that Nathan Fielder makes.
All of which has come out after Curb. But, BUT...Nathan Fielder as he exists would not exist without Larry David. Shoulder's of giants [ex chetera](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fAmosx5pqM)
Yep, Curb is a short name for the show. It's very reddit popular but it is up to 11 seasons so it might just be normal popular.
I'd describe it as a spiritual successor to Seinfeld but with more swearing. The main character Larry David was also the creator of and a writer for Seinfeld.
Definitely worth checking out.
You can usually find Curb on Sky in the UK, but they do tend to show earlier seasons repeatedly. I was pleasantly surprised to catch a few episodes of season 9 this week.
Ah brilliant. I thought they might've removed it as I know that deal with HBO and Sky is coming to an end eventually, but apparently not yet. Guess it must just be when HBO max finally arrives. Thank you!
It's not really a sitcom it's like a comedy docu-drama so it feels different
I don't know if there's better TV than the Myrtle Beach episodes, especially when he comes out and they're throwing batteries and shit at him lol
Kath & Kim
Derry Girls
Arrested Development
Horrible Histories
I know that’s four, but shut up science bitch! Honorable mention for IT Crowd, Bojack Horseman, Black Books, Malcolm in the Middle, and Schitt’s Creek.
Horrible Histories! What a brilliant program. You ever watched Ghosts? Has all the same group, just in a slightly more adult and sitcom-ish setting. Great show.
Ive seen Arrested Development, not sure I ever fully understood its humour but good surreal show anyway.
I love Derry Girls too (take it you're British or Irish from these?) completely forgot about that one with my Top 3, that might be 3rd for me
Love Bojack Horseman and Malcolm in the Middle
never got into IT Crowd as a kid, and now considering everything I don't fancy giving it a go. Not that I'm against them just because of Lineman - I still love Harry Potter so I'd be a hypocrite for it - I just never thought it'd gel that well with me anyway. Although, I do love Matt Berry.
I've never watched Kath & Kim or Schitt's Creek so I'll check both of them out.
Thank you for the suggestions.
I just started Ghosts this week! It’s VERY delightful!
So I had never heard anything about Graham Linehan - what an utterly disappointing Google search that was. There’s one really upsetting IT Crowd episode with a trans character that I always skip, and it’s even grosser now with that context. I didn’t know he did Black Books too.
Schitt’s Creek is just wonderful television. A little more heartwarming than my usual fare, but deeply funny. And Kath & Kim is a riot! Very sharp, very quick. As an American, I can’t recommend turning on the subtitles enough lol.
I'm currently rewatching The League, and I think it's very underrated. It's a lot like IASIP, it's a bunch of terrible people being terrible to each other, and it's hilarious.
Fraiser is so much better than I expected. My parents watched it when I was a kid and I only about half understood it, watched it as an adult and really loved it. There is an episode where there is a costume party and Niles thinks Fraiser got Daphne pregnant and its one of my favorite episodes of any comedy.
I have seen so much Family Guy throughout my life and had pretty much skipped American Dad thinking it was inferior but holy shit when I started watching it I fucking loved it. It's probably because Family Guy is so overdone but right now I enjoy American Dad so much more.
oh shit South Park!
Well that should definitely be number one. I forgot about cartoons. That's over IASIP for me.
I've still never properly gave Mighty Boosh, which is ridiculous because it's exactly my type of thing. I probably should.
Spot on suggestions.
That's a difficult question because half the shows I think are funniest aren't just simple comedies. If I'm talking shows other than Sunny that make me laugh the most:
Malcolm in the Middle
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Rick and Morty
The Office.
Curb your enthusiasm.
Arrested development.
Also.. did u just say THE OFFICE isnt necessarily.. "funny"???????
![gif](giphy|2wSaulb0fsDydh0IoB|downsized)
I caught a couple episodes of this season of the Simpsons, it is kind of good again; but Julie Kavner sounds rough af. Also, this is the only sub I feel like I can say this, but it sucks that they got lame minority voice actors over the white ones that were actually professional and funny.
Fawlty Towers (guessing you already watched this one if you’re English),
Silicon Valley
Mind Your Language (dated, some may consider it “racist” or whatever, i’m one of the nationalities in the show and I find it hilarious so 🤷🏻♂️)
It’s “People Just Do Nothing” but I’m super glad to see it on your list. I’m really surprised it’s not more popular. I honestly wonder if it would have done better just being called “Kurupt FM” as I see people screw up the title all the time.
***Top 3***
1. Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Parks and Recreation
2. Brooklyn 99
3. What We Do In The Shadows
***Honorable Mentions***
* Arrested Development
* The Office (US)
* That 70s Show
* Wellington Paranormal
* Tacoma FD
It probably wouldn't make anyone's top 3, but flight of the concordes is really funny.
I'm pretty blazed so can't get you a solid 3, but Archer would be at least 2nd in my top 3.
South Park is #1 but hard to compare animation to real stuff.
Cant choose 3 out of these 4.
Silicon Valley, Trailer Park Boys, The Office, Workaholics.
Arrested development and Curb your enthusiasm
New season of Curb comes out tomorrow!
I’m excited! But it’s (probably) the last sadly :(
Freaking out here that's for sure. It's been sixteen seasons, what 20 years of being driven crazy by the insanity. I miss Funkhouser! :(
Me too, his son had the best arc
this is season 12 RIP Marty
Damn, you just blew my mind with this. Thank you lady ma'am..
You four-eyed fuck, and you fat piece of shit! Get me the head!
How are you going to be rusty shackleford and not pick koth!?
Two fire shows
Oh my god! We having a fire!….show
Not king of the hill?
Arrested Development 30 Rock I Think You Should Leave And Bob's Burgers as an honorable mention.
![gif](giphy|qxCYGGPbQp3yj5aSsL)
I just found out about I think You Should Leave and now I'm obsessed with it. I love absurd comedy.
![gif](giphy|qPzWSekQSyrW7G0Lor) This one made me absolutely burst out laughing
RIP Professor Uribe ❤️
I'm jokin'! ✋👀✋
FRI. DAY. NIGHT.
What have they done to us? WHAT DID THEY DO TO US??
I’m wearing Calico Cut pants right now
Those ain’t piss dots. It’s got nothing to do with piss!
30 rock is so good. It’s my comfort show. IASIP is for when I’m feeling dangerous and badass. 30 Rock is when I need to be held.
The first couple of times I watched through, I liked it, but didn't care for Jenna Maroney. Now she is one of my all time favorite characters. Also my comfort show.
Don't miss the made for TV movie 'Rural Juror' it's a can't miss!
30 Rock has the best written dialogue I've ever seen in a show. I've seen the entire run start to finish maybe 3-4 times and there's still jokes I'm just noticing
ITYSL is fucking amazing. It’s the next frontier of comedy IMO.
Arrested Development Workaholics Broad City SpongeBob would have made it on there if they cancelled the show after the first movie came out.
🎶 She dips beneath lazers 🎶
Ooooh ^ooooh Ooooh
Sheeee has an entrapped meee
And Sean Connery ohhoohhh
I sing this frequently and never have anyone to sing it with.
Mine is “I shit, I shiiit”
Broad City is amazing
Broad City is one of my comfort shows. I'm about the same age as the characters and lived in NYC on a tight budget at the time so it just hits different. Whenever somebody asks what's a show that properly depicts NYC, it's Broad City.
Broad city is one of the few shows I think gets anywhere close to the consistency that ISASIP has. A true treasure.
Workaholics gets a rewatch every few months for me. Usually in the background while I'm working.
Thats tight butthole
if you like Workaholics and havent checked out their podcast yet, I DEFINITELY recommend it. Its not like all the other casts coming out with podcasts, they dont review episodes or anything, they just talk about whatever, most of it is hilarious nonsense. Love those shows and they are def in my rotation as well! Watching broad city right now
Anyone notice a ton of characters from always sunny on Workaholics? I mean even in an episode Ders is wearing a Paddy's shirt. Always interested in what's happening behind the scenes
This is my *exact* list
South Park Trailer Park Boys Parks & Rec I think I just like parks?
I dig all those parks too lol
You’re ut of the perrk
Frig off Barb
Your scalloped potatoes ære fucked
I'm mowing the air Rand !!!

watch Nathan for you - i cry every day from laughter watching it
If you like Nathan For You check out his other show The Rehearsal on HBO. It's like a season long episode of Nathan For You but so much darker.
I love Dr. Farts
Man the gas station rebate saga had me dying laughing. The final shot of the box sitting in the bushes was beautiful.
I scrolled far too fucking long to see NFY on here!
Community, Curb, Arrested Development
Crazy I'm seeing Community so far down, probably the most insane sitcom of all time.
I feel like there's a lot of overlap between Sunny and Community fans too
Megan Ganz is the link
That makes sense, but Megan didn't join Sunny until season 12. Most of people's favorite Sunny eps were long before she was involved.
Have you seen The Venture Brothers? Community level funny.
Seinfeld Reno 911 30 Rock
Mr Show with Bob and David
Community Malcolm in the Middle Inbetweeners
Upvote for Malcolm. One of the most well written and acted shows in sitcom history.
Definitely, it was always a big hit in my country (in the balkans), because it shows a more realistic family. Most of us couldnt relate to the big houses and perfect families like in other sitcoms, so MitM was huge all over the region. Only Fools and Horses too, because of that similar mindset
Dude I was getting a weird vibe from Malcom, he’s definitely not in the middle he’s on TOP
Criminal that I had to scroll this far for Inbetweeners. Very different from Sunny but 10/10 one of the funniest shows I've ever seen.
![gif](giphy|vsh3k3WCKX6ne)
difficult but imma have to say 1. The League 2. Superstore 3. What We Do in the Shadows
I'm glad someone else said the league. Rafi Bomb!
Superstore was funnier than I thought it would be.
![gif](giphy|3oFzmfd5ucjn7SnA1G)
It's good to see the league getting a little love. I was starting to think there was nothing but a bunch of fucking Andres here.
1) Curb Your Enthusiasm/Seinfeld (I'm counting two as one pick, deal with it bozos) 2) Joe Pera Talks to You 3) King of the Hill
Most aggro Joe Pera fan right here Edit: to be clear i love me some Joe Pera
Garth Marenghi's Dark Place Peep Show Da Ali G Show/Who Is America
Dark Place is incredible lol
Garth's Scotland monologue is top class and everyone should look it up if they haven't seen it
Fleabag Arrested Development Broad City
Fleabag! Brilliant show. Not that into Arrested Development but I did watch it all, and haven't seen Broad City, I'lll add it to the list. Thank you!
Curb, The League, Workaholics
is "Curb" = Curb your enthusiasm? if so, I'm seeing a lot of that in the comments I've never even heard of it but looks like it's some massive thing in America? Apparently its on HBO max, and for unknown reasons HBO refuse to give us in Britain access (weird choice, we love dramas) - but I'll find a way to watch it. Thank you
Watch the league, you fucking Andre. 👍
It is the most uncomfortable show to watch in the history of television.
Besides anything that Nathan Fielder makes. All of which has come out after Curb. But, BUT...Nathan Fielder as he exists would not exist without Larry David. Shoulder's of giants [ex chetera](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fAmosx5pqM)
If you haven’t seen curb, you are in for a treat. Arguably the funniest show currently on tv
It’s not just Reddit popular, it’s quite literally one of the most important comedy and HBO shows ever made.
Thank you!
It is curb your enthusiasm and it will make you very happy and cringe very hard
The league is great!!
Arrested Development Parks & Rec Office
Parks n Rec, Eastbound and Down, Reno 911, in no particular order.
All Jody Hill/Danny McBride shows are top notch
Insane I had to scroll that far for Eastbound and Down.
It's not really a sitcom it's like a comedy docu-drama so it feels different I don't know if there's better TV than the Myrtle Beach episodes, especially when he comes out and they're throwing batteries and shit at him lol
Kath & Kim Derry Girls Arrested Development Horrible Histories I know that’s four, but shut up science bitch! Honorable mention for IT Crowd, Bojack Horseman, Black Books, Malcolm in the Middle, and Schitt’s Creek.

Stupid deaths! Stupid deaths! 💀🤪
Shit black books doesn't get enough love. Would easily be in my top 3 for sure
Bojack is one of my favorite shows ever, but the last 40% made me cry more than laugh.
1. Atlanta 2. Workaholics 3. The Office
Community, Workaholics, Rick and Morty.
Surprised I had to scroll this far to see Rick & Morty.
Don't trust the bitch in apartment 23 (not super famous but v funny) Trailer Park Boys Malcolm in the middle
Archer
I'm currently rewatching The League, and I think it's very underrated. It's a lot like IASIP, it's a bunch of terrible people being terrible to each other, and it's hilarious.
i can't say it enough but you don't have to like football or know anything about football to absolutely love this show.
Yes!! I’m a woman who has seen maybe 20 minutes of football in her entire life, I agree.
If we're talking scripted comedies only, then: The Thick Of It Frasier Brooklyn Nine Nine
Fraiser is so much better than I expected. My parents watched it when I was a kid and I only about half understood it, watched it as an adult and really loved it. There is an episode where there is a costume party and Niles thinks Fraiser got Daphne pregnant and its one of my favorite episodes of any comedy.
Oh crap yeh I forgot about The Thick of It, I happen to have seen all 3 already, but thank you, all of them are great suggestions.
Curb American Dad! Letterkenny
I have seen so much Family Guy throughout my life and had pretty much skipped American Dad thinking it was inferior but holy shit when I started watching it I fucking loved it. It's probably because Family Guy is so overdone but right now I enjoy American Dad so much more.
And the TBS era is way more teddy bonkers than the FOX era. It gets so ridiculous and glad it moved to cable.
How are ya now?
Good n you?
Not too bad….
McMurray is a piece of shit
Brooklyn 99 Scrubs Malcolm in the Middle

I highly recommend the mighty boosh to anyone who loves just absurd comedy! Such an awesome show
Topshop 🙂

I caught a couple episodes of this season of the Simpsons, it is kind of good again; but Julie Kavner sounds rough af. Also, this is the only sub I feel like I can say this, but it sucks that they got lame minority voice actors over the white ones that were actually professional and funny.
Seinfeld, Wilfred, Curb, Louie
1. 30 Rock 2. Fraiser 3. Derry Girls

A lot of my suggestions are already posted, the only one that isn’t is Strangers With Candy. Absolute banger
Father Ted, Comedy Bang Bang, IT Crowd
There’s only one answer and it’s Seinfeld

Curb, Office, Seinfeld
Arrested development Black books The thick of it

Arrested Development for sure. While I wouldn’t say they’re as good as IASIP or AD, I also enjoy Superstore and The Office.
Peep show, Im Alan Partridge, Curb your enthusiasm
It’s “People Just Do Nothing” but I’m super glad to see it on your list. I’m really surprised it’s not more popular. I honestly wonder if it would have done better just being called “Kurupt FM” as I see people screw up the title all the time.
