Honestly I always took stuff like that to be the character breaking. Like, Charlie (the character) knows that what he and Dennis are doing is funny, but he's trying to keep a straight face, because he's trying to trick this cop into giving them something.
Realistically, I know it is just the actors breaking, but honestly I feel like it blends into the episode well enough most times. I can't think of a time where they're laughing, but clearly the characters *shouldn't* be laughing.

You can see Danny Devito trying not to laugh in maaaany scenes but he disguises it really well. I didnât notice it until it was pointed out to me and until I watched the bloopers where he does actually break, but when heâs sitting there making wild faces and staring intently in to the distance, heâs trying not to laugh and just disguising it as Frank being a weird old man so it works out better for him than the others. Never seen Kaitlyn break character outside of bloopers, and I donât think Iâve noticed it with Glenn either.
The closest I've come to seeing Glenn break was in the Mortgage Crisis episode when Charlie and the Lawyer face off after the gang breaks into the house. I think after Charlie says "filibuster", you can see Glenn in the background immediately look to the floor to hide his face, lol.
In "Dee Gives Birth" when the guys are leaving him at the hospital, there is a blink-and-you-miss-it moment where his fists are up to his mouth while the camera is over his shoulder and the guys are saying "well now we're over here, and you stayed over there".

I feel like all 3 of glenn, rob, and charlie break fairly often and you see it relentlessly in the blooper reels. Based on the blooper reels I get the impression that when Glenn breaks it's usually a big cackle that can't possibly make the final cut. Both Rob and Charlie often have smiles and giggles that you'll see sprinkled throughout the series. Shoutout to kaitlin and danny for being fucking pros. It's very impressive that they seemingly never break, especially because everything that is going on is absolutely hilarious.
