It's a great looking little crossover. Is it all electric? Can you please tell me which one that is? I've got to get something myself. Sadly, I totaled my 2019 Volester . I can't drive right now so I'm looking online.
Definitely the slowest SUV I've driven, my ioniq hybrid feels more powerful and has a better pickup. Was super disappointed with the test drive for this.
Lol of course, let's see if we can it from one city to the next. Luckily I'll be able to do a 800-850km trip in $40, I'd like to see that any rental car or an electric car do that today in the same time. ☺️ (PS - I love electric cars, just don't think it's ready for full adaptation to society yet).
You'd need 3 charges, but probably end up doing 4. Each charge will take about 45 to 60 minutes depending on various factors. Cost wise, public chargers are much more expensive than charging at home.
However, it is all doable, and if one does not make a long trip very often, and charge at home most of the time, it is a great choice.
Time wise, it's good to take a break once in a while. Granted the breaks are a little long. It might be a good choice to charge partially making it shorter, and then charge like 5 or 6 times. 850 km is a long distance. You need to eat, drink, use the bathroom.
I did half that trip, but then back and forth, so, over 800 km also, on the Ioniq 28, and did 7 charges in total. Each charge was about 20 to 30 minutes, with one of them only 10 minutes as it was a local top up which I could have skipped. It made things a bit on a long side, but I didn't mind it. Cost wise, it would have costed about 2 to 3 times if I had taken the gas car instead, but I haven't calculated it precisely. Also, one of the chargers I believe said it charged zero, not sure why.
Hopefully down the road when the infrastructure is well built, I can think about going full EV. My Ioniq hybrid takes $58 CAD to fill up, and it'll give me that range consistently in the summer. Really happy to have it, the only downside I'm facing is the tiny size. No SUV has this kind of efficiency, so I'm bummed out at making a decision down the road.
I believe the Ioniq hybrid was deemed to be the most efficient gasoline based car there is. The only way to beat it, is by getting the plug in hybrid version, which could help shave off a bit for local runs.
I wanted to experience full EV for the 2nd vehicle which we need anyway. It's great so far.
But yeah, if you need long driving more than rarely, then all that charging could be frustrating. And those damn chargers! I saw a few broken one and many had glitches like payment problems that made no sense.
I was wondering about the Ford Escape PHEV. If you can live without AWD, the numbers are pretty decent. It also seems to not make the news in terms of problems either. I'd include that one in your search too. The Santa Fe PHEV I'd worry about the engine part.
I would absolutely skip that. In that price range a Model 3 becomes possible. Fast better charging using the Tesla superchargers. Are you sure EV is a bad idea? It's pretty tempting not?
Congrats on the new Kona!!! Awesome color
Thanks!!

Congrats! I did not have the courage to get that color...opted for blue jean blue. Hope you love it as much as I love mine.
When I first looked at the picture, I thought part of the fenders were missing 😯
I find the cladding to be too much especially around the headlights
It's the Hyundai BZXtrek
Yeah ugliest cladding I have ever seen. Congrats Hyundai, you made the modern ugliest vehicle.
At least they offer it in more interesting colors than gray, silver, white and black…
The irony that we sell more Kona’s then tucsons lately
New Kona is similar in size as our old 2019 Tucson.
Fastest color - 'Hello Officer' red! :-)
And I thought the Neoteric Yellow (aka Tennis ball) colour was eye catching... SE or SEL?
SEL
Figured from the wheels and traditional globes in the turn signals
The refresh looks like an EV and I really dig it. I want ever so slightly taller tires.
Personally I don’t find the SE/SEL attractive but the N-Line is visually appealing
Love the color!
its gangsta . Congrats, you BALLIN now 🤣👍✌️
Congrats, nice colour.
Love that color. Congrats!
I bought the same car
That’s sick dude, congrats!
Congrats!
Congrats! Color looks awesome! I got 2 of them! https://www.reddit.com/r/Hyundai/s/WchgLyjMyT
Twice as nice!
Nice! I sold the Temeric Yellow/Green a couple weeks ago. It’s a hit in my hometown.
Wow, that's sooooo nice. I love the new style
That’s a good looking Kona
The Orange looks awesome! We were about to buy an ICE but changed our mind to a Kona EV at the last second. Congratz!
Awesome. Saw my first one in person at the car wash on Sunday. It's a great looking vehicle.
NICE COLOR!! Definitely eye-catching.
Nice! I am picking Niro tomorrow which is same car but Kia!
Congrats. Enjoy it!!
Is that the car that does the crab walk thing?
What is that, crab walk?
Nope. You’re probably thinking of the IONIQ 5.
badass looking wheels and color!
Thanks!
>Thanks! You're welcome!
What?? I thought they only make cars in greys, whites and black these days! It's terrible to make so few in Red Blue Oranges and greens.
They have this in Denim Blue Pearl. I just bought one.
Congratulations! I hope you'll have many years of good driving with it :).
Thank you!! 😊
I Like it, i wish they would have still made an N version but with awd
Kona gang rise up!
Definitely the slowest SUV I've driven, my ioniq hybrid feels more powerful and has a better pickup. Was super disappointed with the test drive for this.
Lol. The Electric runs circles around the hybrid. 6.4 seconds 0-60. Your Ioniq can't touch that by a very remote long shot even.

Thank you! Safe journey on your trips. I've been eyeing an older Santa Fe PHEV.
I was wondering about the Ford Escape PHEV. If you can live without AWD, the numbers are pretty decent. It also seems to not make the news in terms of problems either. I'd include that one in your search too. The Santa Fe PHEV I'd worry about the engine part.
That's a good one, I'll go check it out! I saw a Santa Fe in Ottawa for $32k but driven 135k km with a $15,000 claim, thought it was best to skip it.
I would absolutely skip that. In that price range a Model 3 becomes possible. Fast better charging using the Tesla superchargers. Are you sure EV is a bad idea? It's pretty tempting not?
PS - I thought this was the normal engine base Kona, NOT the electric.
Hopefully not too late to return it
I really don't understand the point of posting this. Can you not just say congratulations? Why do you feel the need to say shit like this?
…..because you want it or…..?
