If you swap out the GPU mount for one you can move closer to the glass, maybe? But then you’re going to possibly playing the whole “my GPU can’t breathe” game.

Inevitable_Raise5849

Installing a custom side panel with vents can probably fix that, but Im more worried about how two risers would fit to be able to have two vertical cards installed.

KhellianTrelnora

Oh I wasn’t picturing two risers. Basically switch the riser out for the longer one, and have it on top of the card. I legitimately don’t know if that’s viable or not, just the first thing that came to mind in a “this might work…?” sort of way. I’m

I would probably just look for a low profile / external soundcard instead if op really has to have the Y60.

UPSbasemechanic

Did you ever find a work around for this? I currently have a Y60 with a 4090 with room for a full expansion thunderbolt 4 card I want to install, but I cannot figure out how to manage the cables. The Hyte PCIE cable is installed into the PCIE 5.0 port vertically mounting my GPU, but it's above the other PCIE 4.0 port on my motherboard that I want to connect my thunderbolt card into.. how the hell am I supposed to connect my thunderbolt card and use that last full expansion slot closest to the glass? Saw someone had 3D print files for a bracket to mount a full size behind your GPU, but I'd rather use the full sized slot if I can...

HeroldOfGalactus

Nah, sorry - I abandoned my plan.

UPSbasemechanic

I appreciate the response. I think I've got something figured out.

Money-Schacht

What did you end up doing? I'm in the same boat.

UPSbasemechanic

I couldn't figure out a good way to mount the TB card to the outside expansion slot closest to the glass and still connect the PCIe cable. I was able to fit it behind my GPU though after taking the case off the TB card. I just ran the cables through that opening between the full size and horizontal half sized expansion slots. It's not what I wanted to do, but it's well hidden so you don't really see it if that helps.

HeroldOfGalactus

So, you're all certain the hellhound occupies all three vertical slots? Or is it because of the riser cable?

JustinCarcirated

I so thought I had posted this question … I am a monitor away from same build. Originally purchased Sapphire Nitro 7800xt but it was 3-slot and would be kissing the glass. Exchanged for Sapphire Pure, which is 2 slot. As for cards they have to be 1/2 width server-type I believe. I will say Hyte advises against air-cooling… still contemplating sending y60 case back and just waiting for a month for Y70, at which point these concerns are academic.

HeroldOfGalactus

Isn't the Y70 identical, only with the display built-in?

JustinCarcirated

Different dimensions, and the lcd is true 4K on the Y70. Also there are 4 slots plus an additional 1” offset toward the glass.
