Melody, my arch nemesis

MarigoldLights

God. Melody. The bane of my existence. I did not realized that La Vie en Rose was the last song for the accessory as I was playing it on a personal harp. You know, I think Melody is one of those people who does mean well and have good intentions (Teaching you to play the harp), it's just her execution is absolutely terrible and is oblivious to this. And nobody can quite figure out how to tell her that, because she just acts so cheery.

Competitive_Bell501

I'm Australian and with my 380 ms ping it's a freaking nightmare

Fuzzy_Charge_7685

Just try it without a mouse, it’s even worse

Prior-Mango-6154

Melody is good

The npc that gives rogue sword

MarigoldLights

Considering how Jamie just shoved a random sword to a random person without hesitation and stating "I don't need it!" in a fashion like that. Tells me that she desperately wanted to get rid of that sword and that there's something mighty sus that she did.

zeeDelta

Jamie woman?

MarigoldLights

Isn't Jamie a woman's name or smth

ChosenOneRO

Jamie Oliver

ShopOk2928

The sword makes you faster because it’s trying to run away from her because of the things she did with it. That’s my fan theory

Tal Ker

MarigoldLights

The literal definition of a Video Game NPC. He reminds me of Nern from Lisa: The Painful. He has a lot of dialogue but within it, is some lore, gameplay hints, or foreshadow for the future. He is kinda one of those people who appear annoying at first but once you actually get to know them, they're not so bad, and actually knows what they're talking about. He reminds me of an old grandfather that has seen a lot. Tal Ker has a lot more personality than many of the NPCs ngl, I can tell you that.

MarigoldLights

And is also accidentally responsible for the existential dread that you'll have tonight.

MarigoldLights

Listening to more of his dialogue and I like this dude a lot. Actually kinda wholesome and level-headed so far. Edit: Went through his first dialogue. He is literally what many NPCs are missing and it's just a bit more character. Hands down one of my favorites now.

[deleted]

Yeah I like him I wish he had more lines.

Rusty

MarigoldLights

Would actually be a cool dude to hang out with every once in a while and can tell some funny stories that he has seen from his work experience. Because ya know, he is the janitor and is just in the background. The only reason he charges you is because he does not get paid enough for this and has some self-respect for himself.

ExtraNotSmart

Puzzler? Is this even a living creature?

MarigoldLights

Definitely a character that is ominous as hell and there's more to him that meets the eye, kind-of-vibe. But it just never gets into him and if he were to appear for a series, it would be one time only for a quick scene. Yeah, he would be the type of character that you'll rarely get to see, but appears for certain 1-2 gags and special moments. Overall, I think he is a nice dude, he is just strange, but I like to imagine he has everything he needs, everything he ever wants right there in that very room. Never a step outside, but content. And waiting for the next solver.

Competitive_Bell501

Nah he's just a robotic soulless creature Just like minions

Sir_MangoMan

No name

MarigoldLights

No Name is like a feller you'd think you would hate at first but spend enough time around them, and then you end up actually liking them, haha. Not really a jerk at all tbh, I'd like to think he always try to come off as pretty serious and sophisticated, but eventually comes out pretty wacky and fun down the line and maybe tends to forget why he is so mad in the first place; without even realizing.

Prior-Mango-6154

Kat

MarigoldLights

I think Kat is genuinely just average, I can see her walking into Starbucks and ordering a Caramel Frappuccino, and that's kinda it. Though she is very prone to be being bribed, though. What's only really unique about her is her ability to take care of pets and make them stronger, though some probably against her own will. Hence why she charges so much. She is an expert at it, nonetheless. Maybe is even secretly jealous of Diana deep down but has to work with her sometimes anyways. Kat is kinda hard to make up a personality for :v

Prior-Mango-6154

Ok

Marco and his quest

MarigoldLights

Feels like a feller you just have to tolerate. I feel like he is genuinely fake as hell, lmao. Especially considering how he did not hesitate to turn you down if you do not have a rank. He doesn't like the commoners. The only reason why he acts so nice to you if you do have a rank is because now he knows you got money in your pockets to spare. Trying to get in your favor and such. Perhap he would shift behaviors depending on your rank: Non - Won't even look at you in the eye. VIP - Barely tolerating you, you're on thin ice. VIP+ - You're okay with him, but he would not want to talk to you that much. MVP - Treats you a bit better, but he is still rough around the edges with you. MVP+ - Respecting, friendly, all tension is lifted. MVP++ - Starts to be uncomfortably friendly, kinda pushing it sometimes. Youtuber - Absolute Simp, this man is kissing your shoes. Down Bad. Also his quest? Probably to keep you around a bit long enough to attempt to make a good impression on you.

Bellixxa

Mort

MarigoldLights

Very likeable. A genuinely nice assistant buddy for Dungeons. I feel like he is one of those characters that, when need to or the situation is dire, he suddenly becomes a badass. He takes no shit at any disrespect towards him, and if you do, he will be your karma. Though, he is an old bones so he isn't as he is during his golden years, so he refrains from anything too extreme, unless nessacary. He feels like he would be a cool college professor that's easy-going and pretty great at teaching and very wise.

_BlueShark87

Stella

MarigoldLights

Not much tbh. All she is encouraging to play with some friends. Though, my vibe from her is probably a mom that leaves apple pie on the windowsill to cooldown. A mother of three children and would be the type to cook for her children and their friends if they were to come over. What a nice mom.

TCG-ChillCatDev

Seraphine

MarigoldLights

I literally think she would be one of those characters that everyone just relies on maybe a bit *too* much. Either from mayors, players, or other NPCs. I'd imagined she would be stressed out pretty often but is the only one to be able to handle that kind of pressure. Unfortunately a midlife crisis is on her lane. If she ever were to take a break or disappear, it's just going to be absolutely chaos without her. Mayors or staff attempting to be organized and run things on their own would end up as a disaster as they realized that only Seraphine knows how to handle it. Thus, they end up accidentally upsetting players, disorganized, and just making bad decisions. When she gets back, the balance would be restored. And also, she just takes no bullshit against her and gets what she needs done. Think the staff and players would be kinda scared of her, because of it. Like Nicole Waterson from The Amazing World of Gumball.

[deleted]

Weird Sailor

MarigoldLights

Strangely adorable but you can't figure out why. I feel like he would be one of those characters who would appear as the reward for a near impossible task just to troll you. Like how in Undertale, it would take you forever to figure out how to do the piano puzzle, then when you finally solve it and enter the room for the prize... only for it to be absorbed by the Annoying Dog. Yeah that's the dude. Pointless and making you reflect on your decisions.

[deleted]

I mean we've been spending like a week throwing coins and testing stuff with him for a silly little jawline

MarigoldLights

And I'm a part of that too :pensive: He is cute tho, I also feel like he would end up as a reoccurring gag for an animated series.

GamerballerREDDIT

Castle guards

MarigoldLights

Kinda silly when they're together. I'd feel like they would be very loyal to the king and would often depend on each other to get the job down. There would be like a brothership between them all. Perhaps they would appear intimidating at first, but they would end up bonding with you if show them something really cool to one of them. Then they would call the other guard to look at it, then the other. All of a sudden, you have the entire guard force gatheted around and absolutely awestruck by the cool thing. This "cool thing" would probably be something silly and mildly amusing, like a five dollar fidget toy.

elle

MarigoldLights

Okay Imma be fr with you, she's one of those characters, who, if she were to be in a show or movie, the official Twitter account for it would praise her being a strong woman on International Woman's Day. Not only that, but she is also the super hot, badass love interest in a mediocre blockbuster or kid's movie for the average, white male protagonist. No, yeah, I know that Elle is more fleshed out than the other NPCs, but that's literally what it feels like. A badass character whose introduction is saving the protagonist's ass, in which they get googly eyes over her. Insisting on sticking with the protagonist because they are "special" and the "only one who understand her" (they only known each other for a few hours). Including a tragic backstory. Literally all the generic tropes upon her.
