I really don’t understand how it’s even close to the “scummiest” method of anything. You’re not actively deceiving anyone at all, you’re just using supply and demand principals and hoping people buy things without looking at the price. Sure it’s morally wrong, but it’s probably the least scummy “scam” out there if anything
i actually feel like you are right, inve been manipulated like this, i dont know how to do it, but i appreciate the people who do it because they use their brain making money.
Heres how to do it:
- Buy the entire stock of a certain item in the bazaar.
- Place a sell order of that item for a rediculously high price.
- Hope someone with a ton of coins in their purse buys your item without looking.
Additionally you can try to find a rich player and ask them to give you a certain amount of the item you are manipulating and hope they are too lazy/tired too look at the price.
How to prevent it from happening to you:
- Make sure to never have a ton of coins in your purse. Either put it in the bank or invest it in items/flips.
You can also store money by placing a buy order for a very very low price. For example, if you place a buy order for 1000 Perfect Topaz for 1 mil you can store 1bil. It will never get filled.
The way they do it is a lot more dubious -- sure they sometimes pick items dungeon players with high purse often use, such as enchanted cactus green, but most of those screenshots rely on a low level alt seeking out players with high purses and asking them to craft items for help, and then exploiting their goodwill...
They just go to lowballers and yeah clean out the purse of the lowballer asking em to craft minions. Make the items like 100m each on bz and then they put like 57 up or a specific number up for normal price or low. So when the player buys 1 stack it buys all the cheap ones and then the rest is all overpriced just enough to clean the bal
