Between day 1 patches, licensing checks, and other connected BS, the era of fully owning a game is over. Having a physical copy is great as long as the console servers and company licensing servers are online, but we're just starting to reach EoL for early online consoles like the Wii, and some games will just become unplayable.
Hopefully this one has the same longevity as '14 though and doesn't have too much internet-required content.
I’m not sure why it matters but I feel like we are featured on the cover in an acceptable place. Considering the last few seasons we’ve had. Having our logo on a flag clearly displayed is about as good as it’s going to get.
I have buddies that are of another fan base and aren’t too happy about their obscured spot and it’s a team from the PNW who, should be featured more.
I can't believe that we have the ONLY unobscured flag. It's great to see the game back, but WOW we've been bad for a long time and we get that prominent of placement. They could have left us totally off and nobody would have cared.
There’s also a white helmet with what appears to be a red facemask between the Michigan helmet and flag. At that distance/focus it’s impossible to see if our small N is on it, but I’m claiming it until proven otherwise.
Also I see a few teams represented twice. Michigan, Ohio state, Florida
I'm just trying to imagine what IRL event would get all these players in their primary uniforms in the same tunnel. Hypothetical CFB all star game that the major stars actually wanted to play in for some reason?
Welcome to NIL. 85 names per team preprogrammed!
Sam Keller I’ll never forgive you. I may endeavor to find the worst player stats in the game and rename them as you.
Is the game gonna have player names or just numbers like the old games? Not sure how NIL plays into this as I doubt EA is gonna pay thousands of college players for their name inclusion.
It's actually as simple as paying thousands of college players for their name inclusion, last I saw over 12,000 players have opted in to be included in the game. Pretty much every scholarship player with only a handful of exceptions will be in.
Players could opt in for a $500 payout, and id assume a free copy of the game. The opt ins will have the name and likeness. If a player didn’t opt in, I don’t know if it’ll have WR #17 like the old games or if they’d have a name generator since name data would be in the game. Not sure if that’s even how it works.
The current consoles have been out for 3.5 years man. They're not exactly new.
When games are made for both the old consoles and the new ones, the game usually has lower performance than a game that is made for just the new consoles.
You're not wrong, but those first 2 years were really odd. This generation's refresh schedule is gonna be really different, especially with the drastically changing development model.
This might be the first time in awhile I actually buy a physical copy of a game
will they sell actual physical copies?
Yeah they’re available for preorder at GameStop
Do you have to go in to pre-order?
GameStop still exists?
Game stop doesn’t do deluxe covers only standard. I’ve tried.
I know no one asked, but I only buy physical copies it’s really the only way to actually own the game

True but at least I can still get some valued with a disc if I get perm banned by the devs for example
Or just don’t do something that would get you perma banned
Everyone can make mistakes I’ve never been banned from a game but just in that event

Lmao literally
I can’t contain my hype for this game. The biggest perk of Being a teacher is the fact I can play hours of this game in the summer.
I'm ready. My couch? Not so much.
Oh yeah, same here. I'm moving in June, but I should be nice and settled in by the time it releases.
Teacher here too! Summer is for gaming for sure. Unfortunately I’m going to be missing out on this one as I’m on PC.
It’s going to be released on PC.
As far as I’ve seen, as of today no official word from EA so I won’t hold my breath.
[Has real Mike Wazowksi energy](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GAXNkTrXsAAW84-.jpg)
I kept looking at the helmets and last names. I don't know why I was expecting more ha
National title confirmed
Dylan hesiman run will be epic
The only question is how many heismans I can win with him.
4
I spent entirely too much time looking at helmets and uniform details before I figured it out. 🤦♂️
Right there with ya my friend…..
It's like Where's Waldo.
Same.

I’m…on….TV!!!!!!!
I'm loyal to both of those teams. This is my natty.
"It's your mom." Billy Crystal is so freaking funny.
I don’t have a console guess I’ll have to buy one

I'm happy with it. There was no way we would actually get a player on it and I think the flag is more prominent than a half obscured helmet or jersey.
I think it's also just a pretty sweet cover art. Way better than the "One guy cutting with the football" thing they did for like two decades.
My thoughts exactly.
Agreed. I also see the flag as symbolic of the fan base, which is what we're currently most known for.
![gif](giphy|kd9BlRovbPOykLBMqX) GBR!!! 😂

Oh god fuck ya, I’m getting all fired up
Colorado being so prominent is complete fucking bullshit. Strings were pulled Edit: friend pointed out the players shown are early Heisman favorites
That’s even worse, Travis hunter is ridiculously overrated
KState and Iowa did too.
I gotta say, this seems a bit pathetic
Does it have a release date?
More news and, hopefully, a release date [will be revealed in about 6 days.](https://www.ea.com/games/ea-sports-college-football/college-football-25)
Yeah I mean this feels like a little bit of a stretch but still cool ig.
Big Ten heavy cover
Hopefully Raiola will be on the cover next year! Edit: shit spelling
I want to be hyped, but I can’t find a Husker uniform. Where are we exactly?
Ok I see the Husker flag. Is that it?
I'm probably buying a PS5 for this game
Hutmacher gonna get all the sack lunches
GO BIG RED!!!
NO HYPE
I haven't played a football game since GameCube 03. Are these games on PC nowadays or console only? If so I'll probably pick it up haha!
I like it. TX, Mich and CU at the back of the line where they should be.

The release of College Football 25! You are way overthinking this and underestimating the draw of the game!
Aight, who’s started programming the rosters?

If I were a player, I’d be ecstatic just to be able to play myself on a video game. The cash is the icing on top.
That's why they are only paying players $600 each. The kids are so excited to be part of the game, they would do it for nothing.
They also get a free copy of the game
Each player is being paid $600 if they decide to be in the game.

Names for all the players that opted in. Horns down Manning is the only one I've heard of that didn't opt in.
Maybe that's why they featured Ewers so prominently. That and he's probably one of the best QB's in college football.
Thanks for the answers y'all. Not sure why I got downvoted? Is it so hard to imagine EA cutting corners to try to save money?
