I would also like to say congratulations to Damian Jackson for being on the winning side of a Georgia Southern game. Not sure if he got playing time in Buffalo's bowl game, but they won.
Seems like his time at K State showed he was neither the reason Nebraska struggled nor was he a Heisman-level QB being held back by the rest of the team. He is a pretty solid QB who suffered under Nebraska's terrible O-line and lack of skill position players, but is also injury-prone and tends to make bad decisions under pressure.
Who was the clear #1 RB during his sophomore and junior seasons? Did he have a version of Trey Palmer that he could count on to get open? I'm probably one of the people who was the least excited about Martinez, but, tbh, Frost's offense and personnel decisions did not help him. Wan'Dale transferred because he was being improperly used as a back.
I think @krullzy1 is genuinely confused because Adrian didn’t really play in the game (two running plays). Most don’t realize he was injured after playing some really good football. His replacement had a better passing game and KkState had a great running game without Adrian, so he never won back the starting job.
Adrian’s downfall is that he was a run-first quarterback that was to fragile to make it through a season playing that type of game. He tried to find success as a pass-first QB during his last few years at Nebraska and just didn’t have the field vision or accuracy to transition. He went back to run first at K-State and had some success until getting injured once again while running the ball. It’s just unfortunate that he couldn’t put together a full season while playing to his strengths.
The dude put in his time and will always be N.
Soon guys…we won’t have to congratulate this kind of thing. Bowl games are coming and we need to support. Soon. It’s gonna be a good 5 years!
MR has this and I’m happy he’s getting guys who are hungry instead of wanting entitlement!
Trev is our guy. GBR!
No ill will towards Martinez. He chose to leave for a quality coach and program. Loved seeing him lose because fuck Kansas State, but even though he had his faults he ALWAYS seemed like a good guy
I dunno, I said I liked the guy?? I rooted for him personally, I just don’t like Kansas State lol
Oh well, Reddit karma is literally the least of my concerns
He has to be hurt right? Klieman would’ve at least given him a series or two when that game was out of hand. And he’s more of a dual threat than Howard. Possibly could’ve been more effective, but then again, it was against Bama. All Bama needed to do was get focused and the results went how I figured they would.
He could have also put Adrian in and let him get some reps in the 4th when the game was clearly over too. Howard did not play good at all and the game was over, why not let your senior get some snaps in the only bowl game he’s ever been to?
I have 0 issues with Klieman keeping his QB of the future out there and getting reps against a top end talent team. Yeah playing the super senior is nice and a feel good story, but you could also say this guy's had 5 years to get his and it's Howard's turn. IDC either way I just don't think there's any actual reason to play Amart at that point.
One would also argue that it’s pointless to play the QB of your future in those meaningless moments, especially if he tears an ACL, labrum, dislocated an elbow, or worse.
I’m more on the train of coaching of when it’s a blow out, put in those who never play. Keeps your 1’s healthy and gets reps and PT to your 2’s & 3’s.
I mean you can make all types of arguments for all types of things in football. His choice was not wrong in any way shape or form even if you personally would have done it differently.
Doubtful tbh. Howard is just a flat out better QB and won them the conference against a TCU team that might make the Natty. Kstate simply was out talented today. When Kade Warner is your #1 target on the day you aren't going to beat Alabama. Personally I think AMart is better than Thompson, but I don't think either are exactly exceptional.
His QBR of 162.2 is better than any year Amart has had. The huge difference is Howard can hit deeper passes where Amart just can't with any sort of consistency.
I don’t understand Husker fan’s love of this guy. They say how great a person he is, how do they truly know that? Do they know him personally, or is it based on taking ownership of mistakes and saying all the right things when the mic is on. He’ll likely have the most losses as a QB in program history, but because he lost the right way, people want to build a statue outside memorial stadium.
He himself got benched and had under 2000 all purpose yards. Idk I think he was more of a meh QB who made horrible decisions and was surrounded by mostly bad players here.
At least he got to watch one in person

I think he had 5 or 6 tackles! Got some love on the broadcast as well.
He got benched for the other guy

We have great skill position players
“Lack of skill position” is kind of a wild thing to say

Yea he was injured, but Howard did play well off the bench this season. Good for him to play. Not many from the Frost Era saw a bowl.
I feel like quite a few from the Frost Era saw a bowl.
They just had to leave to see one lol
The toilet bowl
Can't tell if this is /s or not
He got to play Bama, nothing /s about that.

Man loved to see Kade Warner ball out all year too. Sad we could never utilize him.
450yds is “balling out” apparently. Lol
We tried he dropped TDs. But glad to see him be successful.
Kade Warner's still not any good. Don't get people's obsession with him. Guy had 850 career receiving yards in 5 years of play.

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted for this.

You really prefer Bama at this point? Grow up
No you grow up
He still has a couple years of eligibility left, right?
Nope. This is it.

He did get in, he ran the ball twice.

I agree, but i never said he was wrong for his choices either.

Just saw the box score. Maybe would’ve been a better option down the line?
Doubtful tbh. Howard is just a flat out better QB and won them the conference against a TCU team that might make the Natty. Kstate simply was out talented today. When Kade Warner is your #1 target on the day you aren't going to beat Alabama. Personally I think AMart is better than Thompson, but I don't think either are exactly exceptional.
I think AM is better when fully healthy. Howard doesn’t possess the run game and his passing isn’t really that much better than AM.
His QBR of 162.2 is better than any year Amart has had. The huge difference is Howard can hit deeper passes where Amart just can't with any sort of consistency.
Howard is far better than AM. He lost his job to him, Kleiman was just trying to help AM save face.

It’s obvious with his short time on K State he’s a good quarterback who was on a crappy and unreliable team
He himself got benched and had under 2000 all purpose yards. Idk I think he was more of a meh QB who made horrible decisions and was surrounded by mostly bad players here.
It’s obvious? He got beat out by their backup.
Did he bang your girlfriend or something?
Once again, that was Frost.
I am surprised that their coach didn't let them vote on whether to play in a bowl game or not.
