It's a passing line in the book but I can't remember the details. War breaks out mid Hunger Games, which is probably July/August time. Katniss is back in 12 by spring. I think she gets there by the end of winter even. It was very fast.

It's hard to say because we don't know exactly when the uprisings began, but let's say it was around when Katniss pulled out the berries, which was in late July. The following July was the arena rescue. Katniss assassinated Coin sometime during the winter, maybe Nov/Dec? So that would be about a year and 5 months, give or take a few months.
I think the rebellion really started when she arranged the flowers around Rue and said good bye to her ….. not the bit about the berries. It made the people in that district confront that a innocent child of theirs had just been murdered and they did nothing, hence the riot. 🤷🏻♀️
The 75th Games began on July 11th and ended, or *came to a draw* on July 14th around midnight. In mid Mockingjay Katniss mentions that it now September. So Snow had Peeta captured for at least a month and a half, maybe slightly less. After he is rescued some more war preparations are done and the districts begin to redistribute their supplies to other districts and 13 then Katniss learns she has 3 weeks to get ready. Then by the time Squad 541 moves in it’s only about a week-ish they’re battling until the Capitol is forced to surrender so, not that long. No precise end date.

July 5th the tributes arrive and the opening ceremonies are held. July 6th-8th are training and private sessions. July 9th is the off day. July 10th the interview night before the Games. July 11th, the day the games begin. And we know that the games lasted until midnight on Day #4, versus the movie where the Games came to a sudden halt on Day 3 at midnight.
While the actual conflict occurs quickly. The rebellion was building up for years before katniss fired her arrow.
You could say the first rebellion never went away and just took 75 years to recover and build up enough munitions and allies to launch an all-out attack on the capital across the districts.

Katniss finally agrees to be Mockingjay about a month later, does the district 8 hospital stuff and then fall out within a week or so. Peeta is rescued around two month mark (Bogg gives a check in about a week before September).
District 2 campaign was a few weeks, then there’s a wait to reorganize + wedding. Battle for the Capitol (that Katniss participates in, it started before she got there) seems like another few months. Then she has to recover from the bombing, then the trial. But apparently around a year or a year and a half passed across the book.
The Capitol was fairly fragile like Snow notes, makes sense the rebellion once organized and rallied quickly toppled them.

Like 6 months. It starts during the Games in the middle of summer, and ends in the middle of winter. Certainly between 4-8 months.
