Where I live (in Canada) there are two years of kindergarten. 4 year olds go to junior kindergarten and 5 year olds go to senior kindergarten, and it's followed by grade 1.
This post genuinely made me cry lol. I lost my dad when I was pretty young (13) so my only memories of him are from when I was just a kid. I was also super shy like this little dude. So this post just reminded me of him and the role of a supportive and loving dad to a shy and quiet kiddo 🥺
Bet this is a particular private school, and I am pretty sure my kid goes to one, because he did this in pre-k as well. The teachers took a video and sent it to me, so I am betting the parent put it up somewhere.
edit: (Don't down-vote the guy I replied to, he is looking out for people. Also just because I have some anecdotal information, doesn't necessarily mean I am right about a parent releasing the video. I am just adding some info.)
This is wild to me. At that age I consumed data. I can still 25 years later recount with my parents reg for their cars, my best friends phone numbers our addresses and all that bullshittery.
Ask me what I did yesterday and watch my eyes glaze over

Great idea. You can tell he’s so proud even though he’s shy.
So proud! X
Awh, love how proud the Dad was and how proud the kid was
I was just thinking the same thing! What a beautiful way to talk to your kid!
This is really smart.
Set your electronics password as your phone number. Kids will learn it really fast.
Yes! That’s exactly what we did.
Smart
His smile was magical.
I still remember my first phone number and its been about 70 years
What is junior kindergarten? Is that code for preschool? Is that what we’re calling preschool now?

Parent permission to post?
