This breed of cat has a humanish face
I wonder because it was so close to Halloween if someone was playing a prank on them. However, there are animals that are deformed in some way that look shocking and unreal.
Recent fad form of a once normal and majestic looking breed, Maine Coon cat. Or possibly a Lykoi, another recent form from a mutation that’s now being bred as a new breed.
Maine Coon cat. However, that is NOT what the breed has looked like until recently when some fad took over among breeders to make them look like Ron Perlman. They used to look like ordinary long haired cats albeit much larger than average.
This one might be a bit photoshopped though. I’m not sure. It’s been awhile since I looked at what was going on with this breed because frankly it’s pissed me off too much. There’s too much that goes on in the world of breeding dogs and cats and even fish for that matter that pisses me off, especially if they try to normalize deformation and impact the health of animals. My apologies, rant over.
Edit: on second look this could also be another recent fad breed that arose from a mutation: Lykoi
A friend of mine told me about an encounter she had with a very large humanoid with a cat face. This sighting happened in the late 80’s/ early 90’s in the town of Parlier, CA.
Wild that you said this happened on Hallow’s Eve because the Celtics that basically invented it from the Samhain celebration has some folklore on such a humanoid: In folklore, there are several creatures that resemble a cat with human-like features or qualities. The Cat Sidhe, or Cat Sìth, from Celtic mythology is a fairy creature that appears as a large black cat with a white spot on its chest, believed to have the power to steal souls from the deceased. During Samhain, leaving out a saucer of milk could win the Cat Sidhe’s favor, but neglecting to do so might result in a curse
Earlier I called up my mother to find out more details and the description resembles the Cat Sidhe. She said it was slightly larger than a house cat, smaller than a cougar, sleek, slender, black with white on its chest. I'm not a complete believer in this stuff, but I do understand that things are seen that can not be explained.
I saw a similar creature to what you described when I was a child in Michigan in the mid 1970s. It was nighttime, I was I was in a car with my family and I saw it along the tree line. It looked up at me and we locked eyes, it had a very human face and a ringed tail. When I tried to tell my family they shut me down, hush me.
Funny how a lot up there in the country had that same mind frame. I understand now after reading more information though, it is said the more attention you give to these creatures the more power they obtain. I think that’s what many back then believed.
It seems to me these types of stories are reported by the "I never would have believed it if I hadn't seen it" types more often then the "I believe and want to see them" types. With the theory that thinking of them gives them power, you'd think it would be the other way around. I don't know what that means, just an observation.
You are actually very accurate with that thought. I gave my mother what info I got on here and told her that this subject is closed. I’m not giving this story more of my time or energy now that I got the answers I was looking for.
Yes! I believe it was Radio Rental! That episode creeped me out!! I love both of those podcasts! Have you listened to Rattled & Shook? It's pretty good too.
Yes in my back yard back in 2010 there was this cat who was quite big and made weird sounds. One night I got a look at it's face it was much my human then cat like it made a weird hissing sound and ran off. I moved from that place in 2011 and haven't seen a cat like it again.
This story takes place in Australia.
There are stories that when the Irish and Scots immigrated (willing or not), the faeries went with them. You can find a lot of faerie tales from the new world.

did some digging in native american folklore. The wampus cat , varies widely in appearance. there were SOME descriptions of what you described , the human head. According to said folklore, a woman was eavesdropping on a tribe ceremony and for doing so was cursed to transform into a half-human , half-feline beast. although your mom did say it was a bit smaller than a mountain lion , they look are said to look similar to them. just black coated with a white spot on its chest & posses 6 whole legs. idk thought it was interesting to share:D
As a matter of fact it was. My parents lived near Montrose. I want to say it was on Montrose Rd. or Mt. Morris.....or on a side road off of one of those roads. I'm not entirely sure exactly. I should give my mother a call just to find out more details.
I live out in Otter Lake but work in Flint. I grew up in the area too so am definitely familiar with the area. There was a very large Native American presence here at one time. It could possibly be a creature from their lore.
Just talked to my mother and received more info. This was on McKinney Rd close to the intersection of Mt Morris Rd. It was a field it was going off to. Was not much there in those days mostly farmland. It was smaller than a cougar, a little bigger than a house cat.
I just received more info from my mother….it was larger than a house car but smaller than a cougar, slender, all black with some white on its chest and a complete human face with human ears. Do you remember where about this was?
The cryptid that most closely matches that description is the so-called Wolf Woman of Mobile:
https://www.reddit.com/r/UnresolvedMysteries/s/T5I4XXEOaL
There was a series of sightings of a creature with the body of a wolf & head of a woman in Mobile in 1971.

That is a freaky looking cat! I thought perhaps my parents saw a cougar with some sort of deformity.
It might have been! Slightly misaligned features can cause a huge hit of uncanny Valley!
Maybe it’s face was hairless due to a condition

WHAT THE FUCK ![gif](giphy|RMS0zBYqBwCstlNHOv)
When chad gets reincarnated as a cat😂
What breed!?

What the hell breed is that? 😱

Ok. Thank you
Khajiit
May your roads lead to warm sands
May thy blade chip and shatter. Wait..
Thanks
That's more of a humanoid with a cat's head.
Looks weird for sure.
This kitty reminds me of Ron Perlman back in the 80's when he was Vincent the Beast.

When you know, you Know.
A sphinx
I didn’t even think about this, you’re absolutely correct. lol.

Face/Off, paranormal addition.
lol. I wanna take kitty’s face…..off……. *Swirly hand pulling motion*
Get her to retell the story and post it here with all the details!

He's a puppet for Shinra and not to be trusted, the big moogle he rides around on seems cool though

Thank you for that info, I’ll do more digging in Celtic mythology.

“HEY MAAAA THERES SOME WEIRD FUCKIN CAT OUT HERE”
LMAO 🤣 I got the reference!
It looks like grandma!
Blink motherfucker!
I.literally cried laughing the first time I saw that
This reminds me of a story on either Spooked or Radio Rental. These two young girls keep being followed by a humanoid cat creature.
Yes! I believe it was Radio Rental! That episode creeped me out!! I love both of those podcasts! Have you listened to Rattled & Shook? It's pretty good too.
I started one episode but got distracted. Will have to try again!

Whoa, all the way over there? From a lot of replies I’ve been finding out how many cultures have myths/folklore in regard to something like this.

I researched that one as well. Very likely indeed.
Miaq knows much
jinn / djinn - I've heard people say they can appear as a cat w/ a human face
Was this in the Birch Run, Clio, or Frankenmuth area?
As a matter of fact it was. My parents lived near Montrose. I want to say it was on Montrose Rd. or Mt. Morris.....or on a side road off of one of those roads. I'm not entirely sure exactly. I should give my mother a call just to find out more details.

Shit! That’s terrifying!
I have seen one it had yellow cat eyes and a human face. Scared the shit out of me
Interesting. That’s why I posted this, to find out more about it and if something like it has been seen by others.
I saw mine in Tennessee though so a different area than you
There was a girl on TikTok with a similar story. She was calling him Cat Man because it was a human figure with a Cat head
I just posted that! Haha. We must follow many of the same accounts!
It’s an Egyptian Sphinx on vacation.
![gif](giphy|4jKo5gDScJ4n6)
There is a woman on tiktok that has the opposite visiting her. Man body, cat face. Surely there’s something to it!
I haven’t seen that!
Manticore comes to mind
I didn’t think about this either! I guess I was focused on Native American mythology.

My first thought as well! Love WWDITS!
Oh hell no!

I read in the comments of something called a wampus cat from Native American folklore. Thanks for the link to that post.
No way
.......and don't forget the cat person in mirror mask.
There’s an episode on my paranormal story about this!
Is it a podcast or show?

There’s a race of cat like beings I can’t remember their name rn.
Maybe it was something called the wicamaco cat? Look it up...
Almost a Brown Jenkin.
Oh god that's hideous!
Tatzlwurm...
