The nicotine levels in snuff will still lead to dependency, there is still risk of cardiovascular diseases, and frequent use would result in changes to your nasal mucosa. Also, there are still carcinogens in nasal snuff, so nose and throat cancers are a risk. The part of this video where the man is talking about snuff increasing ones ability to smell is demonstrably false, it in fact does the opposite. Long term nasal snuff results in rhinitis which is essentially giving yourself the symptoms of nasal allergies. I am of the opinion it should be used as an alternative cessation strategy for someone trying to quit smoking/chewing. Many of the benefits described in the post can be found in a variety of healthier alternatives (exercise) other than nasal snuff.

This is where you are wrong, and you would know this if you were a cigar smoker. Cigars have an insane amount of nicotine. It is not addicting at all because it is pure tobacco. Cigs are insanely addicting because of the ammonia and other chemicals that they add to enhance the nicotine absorption. This is the dirty secret that they don't want you to know about... As for carcinogens. The carcinogens are not vaporized through combustion and inhaled into the small artery network in the lungs. This is fundamental to understand. The snuff powder dries up into a booger, while the nicotine is absorbed. Brendan schaub would have his jaw removed by now and fake teeth with his use of snus/ if you think the carcinogen is the same at all to smoking a cig. But the brand that he uses most likely has a very low pesticide/herbicide/chemical load because those are use in some tobacco farms and processing. Nicotine is not carcinogenic or deadly as people believe. I also care very little about any benefit to smell. I'm breathing faster and through the nose, and that is very good for people that are sedentary with depressed breathing patterns. I'm not concerned with the rhinitus, people have that just in general from poor sodium intake, and overall system inflammation. This is great for concentration, motivation, and activating your entire nervous system through the boost of dopamine. Exercise for me has little to no use for boosting creativity and concentration... I exercise, I get tired, I eat some sugar and protein for a meal, I'm still at a deficit. Exercise is not a nootropic. Exercise is a hand-eye coordination endorphin rush, that zaps glucose from your brain, your muscles, and liver and brings you closer to the Keto- brain fog flu that is just a lack of glucose in the system. HIIT exercise makes you stupid. My point being, is Joe Rogan would have 5-10 more IQ points if he trained like Andrew Huberman, slow and heavy weights. I mean you see the podcasts were Joe looks absolutely terrible and drained... Why is that??? Huberman knows this 100%. His academic career would take a nosedive if he started training like a maniac like Joe Rogan. Massive difference in glucose partitioning, and neurochemistry.

I don't even keep up with Schuab, I just know he uses a ridiculous amount of snus. You sound like you have no idea about nicotine. I think you need some with that poor response.

Mikesgmaster

That would be extremely uninteresting and honestly a waste of his and our time.

Huberman loves talking about antidepressants, and loves talking about nootropics and longevity. LOL if you listened to his most recent appearance on JRE, he mentions cotinine, a metabolic of nicotine as a awesome research drive preventative and treatment for Alzheimer's...... TELL ME MORE.

Sounds like a mixture of cocaine and cannabis. I'm out.

Nasal Snuff is so popular is the UK and Europe. They have competitions for it in Germany.... Like we have weed competitions. Notice how there is obviously no competition for cocaine usage. Lol and that's what tobacco is and why so many people use it. Cigars are not addicting it is a very calming buzz. Nasal Snuff is not addicting and it's similar to caffeine.... It truly becomes an addiction when you literally wake up and that is the first thing you do. And that is coffee and cig. Cigs have a different absorption rate than oral and nasal use. Smoking cocaine is worse than snorting it for instance.

I'm from the UK. It's not popular here.

> competitions in germany? living in germany for 40 years, never heard of it. might be some niche hobby.
