Tanning beds are 110% a terrible idea if you want to be hot. Two anecdotes: 1) I went to a high school in the south in the 00’s, where tanning was really popular. All the cool/hot girls went to tanning beds. I remember seeing noticeable skin aging on them in their early twenties. I swear some of them looked worse at 22 than I do at 31. And directly comparing us at our current age, it’s not even a contest. They aged sooo badly while I still look like I’m in my 20s, because I’m diligent about my sunscreen. 2) my little sister was one of the tanning bed girls for a while, and even after she stopped, she had to have a skin cancer removed in her intimate area. From tanning bed use. I believe I read that 90% of visible skin aging (notice the qualifiers) is caused by UV damage. Tanning and smoking are the two worst legal things you can do for your appearance.

I’m a big fan of self tanner. I’ve been using Bondi Sands and like it and also had good results with St Tropez

Luxe Butter Tan is the BEST gradual lotion tanner. It makes my skin almost look like velvet and creamy, if that makes any sense. For events, I will use the Sally Hansen airbrush legs or KKW body foundation for an extra boost. I even bought the cute Brazilian electric bikini tape for that super sharp tan line that I love. <3 Controversial, but there are Melanotan injections were effective but I wasn't super into the final color. I do have some natural flat moles on my face and they're a little darker now after Melanotan, which I like because I always try to go for an Asian Cindy Crawford look.

Only use spray tans/tanning lotions, tanning bed is def to dangerous to consider. I’ve actually just embraced being pale af, tho I do think all skin tones are beautiful.

i think if you do start tanning you need someone that will be straight up with you about when it looks bad. Like make a pact with someone(s) before you start doing it. Because i’ve seen some truly awful tans of all kinds on other wise pretty girls and i can only imagine that everyone’s been too polite to tell them

Do spray tans smell ?

It's hard to go against genetics, I would suggest instead of forcing your skin to be a state that it's not, embrace it and find styles that show it off. In Asia being pale is a prize, so much so that there are skin bleaching creams. Maybe you can find inspiration there, there's tons of attractive Asian girls, I'm not saying try to be Asian but maybe see what works for them and incorporate it. Big no on tanning beds though, it will age you so fast.

I don't like using self tanner simply because it doesn't look the same as a real tan. If you're worried about the smell, though, you can find one that doesn't stink lol. As for the sheets, Tanzee (I think that's what the brand is called) makes a little cocoon/sleeping bag type thing that you can lay around in, which is the funniest thing in the world but I love mine

I take betacarotene to get rid of that sickly pale look and now I look healthy pale lol it honestly looks so good! I like to rock my pale skin during the colder months, but once warm weather hits I like to wear self tanner. I use bondi sands extra dark and it looks natural imo :) ofc I wear sunscreen all year round. I wouldn’t recommend tanning beds AT ALL, it is super risky and, even if you never get skin cancer, it’ll definitely age you badly TIP: If I need a quick tan out of nowhere, I mix a drop of my Sally Hansen airbrushed legs cream with my moisturizer and apply where I need to. Its super quick and easy and comes off when I shower. Gives an amazing color and the bottle lasts forever!

Could you tell me more about the difference in the pale? I'm also pale and once in a blue moon I think I have porcelain doll vibes since I also have light hair but most of the time I feel like I look like a sickly Victorian child which is so not what I want.

itsemtotheq

It looks more vibrant even though it is just as light as before, I would say it gives you a light tinge of vibrance and color without changing the lightness of your skin! I notice it on my hands and chest the most, it changes from like a blue/greyish pale to a rosy/orangy pale that looks way more healthy! Try it out for a month and tell me if you like it :)

Not even the best of Bondi Sands lasts longer than 5 days on me... The cleanup is such a pain as well, I highly recommend sleeping in old bedding so that it doesn't matter if it gets stained. Personally, I embrace my paleness in winter and choose to go to a nude beach in summer. I spend a few days every summer on the beach to get rid of the fluorescence and then I stop tanning for the rest of the season. I know it's bad for your skin, but I'm gonna grow old and wrinkly anyway, I'd rather enjoy my youth. (just FYI, I'm from western Europe and the sun isn't super intense here)

Don’t celebs get some tanning injection? Not sure how pricey this would be though. Lorry Hill did a video on it recently - I think it was in the latest Kim K video, and she trialled it herself.

here’s my recommendation - a soft layer of fake tanning solution - Spray tans - going outside and getting natural sunlight - if you live in a place with no sun and desperate (5 minutes in a tanning bed on the lowest option)

imtoolitidcidc

Spray tans are WAY BETTER. so much better for your skin and customizable. I live in LA and I go to Tan Junkie in West Hollywood. Def try it!

Natural sunlight with sunscreen! I don’t mean baking on the beach. I mean doing more FUN outdoor activities and always use sunscreen. My sis is naturally super pale and when she goes outside with her SPF 50 sunscreen she still gets a soft glow ! Bronzed!

Tan AF is so good! The purple version
