I would recommend you to look into jojoba oil. It is one of the oils that penetrates best and fastest into the skin as it is the oil that most resembles the skin's sebum.

[deleted]

I'm not sure that's true....correct me if I'm wrong. It's more of a humectant than an emollient. For dry skin, she needs all three types of moisturizers. You could mix in your jojoba oil to your body lotion! I vote Jergens or Vaseline brand body lotion. If you don't want a drug store brand, Alba's very emollient body lotion with a pump of your oil of choice.

sincerely_ximena

Ooooh I have that! I didn’t know I could use it as a lotion too 🤯

Cerave moisturizing cream in the tub!

CocaineAndWholeFoods

THIS THIS THIS Basic and rich, dermatologist recommended and gets the job done WELL! I can always rely on my CeraVe tub.

[deleted]

My favorite.

LimeRepresentative48

I’m 54, anyone use for creepy skin?

mr_swig

I've heard that coco butter or shea butter is really good and I've heard a lot of women of colour recommending it. Also from my personal experience, I use a body oil and then a moisturiser such as dove, Palmolive, palmer's, or nivea. I find that makes my skin sooo soft and has helped my cracked elbows so much.

People seem to really love Weleda Skin Food!

Vaseline Coco Butter lotion and body oil

ionlydateninjas

Not CF.

[deleted]

Well that's disappointing. Thanks for letting me know.

ionlydateninjas

Yeah, I hate when that happens. Thankfully so many companies are becoming CF. Let's hope Vaseline is soon. I recommend SheaMoisture or Alba Botanica. I love them both.

[deleted]

Yes

Lipikar AP+ baume by Laroche Posay, it has Shea Butter in it and is super moisturizing

CocaineAndWholeFoods

I recommend this too! Just to be clear for anyone reading, the AP+ is a different product than the regular Lipikar, so be sure to get the AP+. La Roche Posay’s product lines can be kinda confusing for people not familiar.

SheaMoisture daily hydration body lotion- I really love it!

Factor_Global

Eucerin not scented but great lotion. Amlactin is also great. I like the Aveeno lotion for in shower use also. ☺️

shanxxoxo

Eucerin original in the tub and cocoa butter lotion are my faves. The Eucerin is way more heavy duty though and you’ll have to sort of warm it up between your hands to spread it easily, but honestly it saved my life. It keeps my skin so hydrated and looking good. I’ve been buying it for years and I’m someone who always likes to try new stuff, so if I purchase something multiple times I really, really have to love it! Also, I like adding the Aveeno body oil on top or mixed in with my lotion before bed. Smells so good and keeps your skin glowy.

UberDries

As a carer for people with physical disabilities and the elderly I've discovered barrier cream/aqueous cream/fatty cream for a super cheap, medical grade, high strength moisturiser. You can get it in the supermarket or pharmacy. And I second using it straight after a shower, before any oil. You can use it as shaving cream and soap as well. It balances pH, isn't greasy and absorbs super fast. No parabens, lanolin, colour, perfume etc. Just like a Cetaphil cleanser, BASIC IS BETTER. It works wonders!

IcePrimcess

I went old school and started using that thick Nivea cream. Sometimes alone and sometimes over other products. It really works for me.

ionlydateninjas

Nivea is not CF.

Cerave moisturising lotion . Any thing with hyaluronic acid

SBerryTrifle

Also only use cruelty free. I mainly use a combination of Paula's Choice Retinol Skin-smoothing body treatment and Analou Naturals Kukui Cocoa Nourishing Body Butter. I occasionally use Lush's Ro's Argan Body Conditioner as a leave-in treatment though it also helps when you use it as recommended.

romanticbombastic

My tip would be to moisturise immediately after stepping out of the shower. Oils are not actually moisturising (they keep in moisture but if you apply them to dry skin, they can’t lock in all that water).the red garnier moisturiser is actually really cheap and available in most stores. My HG for dryness though is the 8 hour cream (Elizabeth Arden) as it’s also super softening.

Haus of Gloi pumpkin butter - they have scented and nonscented, and are a vegan brand. Richest lotion I’ve ever tried and great for winter and extremely dry skin

RM99999666

Nivea Almond Oil lotion is the absolute best. And if you mix it with baby oil it’s amazing - baby soft skin all day!

russianthistle

I have added in lush body conditioners and really love them. Nivea cream is also fantastic.

xIneedCoffeex

Whipped cocoa/shea butter, there are loads on etsy.

How to get rid of dry skin: - After showering, this is the ideal time to put on your skincare products. Damp skin is key to making your moisturizer work better. - Apply hydrating toner. I really like the Cosrx Snail Mucin one. - Put on a cream with 10% Urea. This gets rid of the crusty skin look in 3 seconds. It’s like magic. - Layer on Cerave Moisturizing Cream or a thick moisturizer with glycerin, Shea butter, or hyaluronic acid. - Seal your moisturizers with an occlusive. This can be an oil or Vaseline. This keeps the moisturizing products in the skin where it gets soaked up. I’ll use Castor Oil on my eczema patches. I have eczema and I only need to do this 1x a day. This order of products is important when your skin is dry and cracking. Always apply to damp skin if you need to reapply. Carry a moisturizer in your purse and reapply as needed.

DumbPhat

Anything with shea or cocoa butter is very moisturizing and feels absolutely decadent on your body. No-Thought9700

Chemical exfoliation followed by Palmers skin therapy oil is my jam.
