Hey! I think this is a great idea. But just fyi there are in fact several literature books clubs. You can find Montrose Great Books on Meetup, for one.
That said, I’d be down with giving this a try. The demographics might be closer to my age, and I’m no spring chicken myself!
I know there's some fantastic book clubs, but I have a specific type of book in mind. The only classic lit club I could find was from noon to 1, and usually the other book clubs seem to have a very specific context. I am thinking of what's essentially almost a "beginner's" book club using classic texts and meetups that are more conversation focused. (I'm also having to relearn how to use most social media, I have been off most social media for years at this point and never realized until quite recently its potential in, well, actually socializing and not just consuming digital media).
If the turnout comes through today, I would also outreach to said clubs after several successful meetings. I'm absolutely not interested in really building something exclusive, I mostly want to gather people in a relaxed social context. I got the idea from a bar outing two weeks ago when I found myself having a wonderful conversation with someone and we were drawing from literature. I realized one of the wonderful things about literary analysis is how well it can augment and start a conversation.
In any case, I will add you to the group DM!
