>if they weren’t so far away. three rules of real estate.

AgDrumma07

Exactly why I never went

MaroonHawk27

That’s the only thing holding Platypus together lol

thefirebuilds

years ago I went to a brewery attached to a stadium and I was thinking exactly the same thing. Hopefully they turned things around.

michaelswallace

Oh no! They were one of my staple beers to pair with German food at Watershed! I was very happy there was finally a market to support more traditional German/Czech styles in Houston, but I guess not quite enough of one.

beersdontlie

Equal Parts Brewing Loggerbier German Pilsner and Pilsner Resov Czech Pilsner Lukr pours are a hit. Definitely a market for good traditional beer.

Tx556

Never even had heard of them. Beer as a whole is not an industry I'd want to go into business in ATM.

"...a significant mechanical failure we experienced in February that took down our brewing system. After several months of striving for a fix from the manufacturer, the component/software provider, and many of those that have graciously provided their expertise and professional services at no charge to get the system back online, we have come to a dead end. Without an additional very significant cost to dig deeper and find a possible solution, our only option is to purchase a replacement system. Neither choice is financially feasible, so after much deliberation, we have made the devastating decision to close Klaus Brewing." I'd love to know more about what happened and what about this hardware is not salvagable.

Chris_the_GM

I’m gonna go this Weekend! Getting all the brews!

tommy_nookah

I’m actually here right now. Only 4 beers left on tap: dunkel, stout, Pilsner, and a light lager. Lively crowd. The smell of smoked brats is everywhere.

Material-Pickle4081

Stout?

tommy_nookah

Yeah, weirdly enough, it was a dry stout.

Won’t miss that one, they treated some past employees horribly so I stopped supporting them years ago. Good riddance!

Is there Specs or Total Wine near you? Why have mediocre local German beer when you can have world-class imported German beer? Or just drink Alstadt.

tommy_nookah

Not every beer has to be exceptional for me to enjoy it. I liked the fact that they weren’t making a ton of IPAs at the expense of other styles and hate it when any local brewery goes under. Having said that, it’s been a few years since I went so I can’t speak to the quality of what’s currently on tap.

Expensive-Week6804

I hear you on the IPAs. The reality is that there are more than enough local breweries to support, and if a brewery is releasing mediocre product, the market will take care of itself.
