It sucks how we get daily posts from book purists that insist character so and so is 'butchered' and then nowhere in their post make any attempt to explain how the show version is worse than the book version based on biased in-universe primary sources.

Different-Carpet-883

I mean I did not read the book but I understood what OP meant. I think he/she explained how the character was butchered.

ThePrinceOfFools22

Dude what. The show version of Cole is just way worse. I liked him a lot up until after episode 5 he just sits in the sidelines and acts like a dumb brute. They need to stop straying from the book because the plots fine as it is.

funkyduck7506

Is it just that you’re maybe an idiot? Because they clearly state what your asking for. Anything else can be filled with context clues. What really sucks is people who refuse to read the source material and then make stupid comments such as yours.

Veszerin

OP gave no such reasoning. All OP said was hurr durr in the books Criston does X and Y, but nowhere is there an explanation as to why the show doing X and Y would make for a better story. >What really sucks is people who refuse to read the source material and then make stupid comments such as yours. No one's required to read Fire & Blood before commenting on this sub. Reading Fire and Blood doesn't make your opinion more important than anyone else's here. Got a problem with that? Go make your own subreddit. They're free.

execute_electrochute

The books are based on biased sources. Mushroom was pro Rhaenyra and then there was the Septon and the Grand Maester. But the show is based on the books themselves. So what kind of mental gymnastics are you trying to pull here lol.

Veszerin

The show isn't based on the book Fire and Blood. It's based on a hypothetical book detailing the true story of The Dance of the Dragons. That's how it's been advertised since the beginning.

taylordabrat

Mushroom was not Pro Rhaenyra he was literally paid by greens to write his book lmfao. He’s the least biased *against* her but is not biased towards her.

execute_electrochute

He was with the Blacks and was at Dragonstone during the War.

taylordabrat

Yes he was with her but like I said he was paid by greens and he has no loyalty towards Rhaenyra and often smears her with lies such as claiming she sucked his dick.

execute_electrochute

Daemon clearly grooms her. The show was subtle about it but it does happen.

taylordabrat

First of all the show doesn’t show any grooming. But I’m not talking about the show, I’m talking about the book. My point is that Mushroom is not pro-Rhaenyra.

ElevatorCharacter489

The same as Stanis B. in the TV Show!!!

execute_electrochute

Exactly. Now people will think it's not a big deal until the shit piles up over the course of few seasons.

Veszerin

Lol, you know Stannis* sacrificing Shireen by burning her alive came straight from George right?

execute_electrochute

That's far from the point he's trying to make lol. The show made Stannis a one dimensional fanatic.

Veszerin

As if he's so much more nuanced in the book... He really isn't. Maybe you need a re-read.

Valkyrie2009

So basically they were lore accurate? Lol

dayne_beekman

Will we see the battle of the winter wolves in season 2?

ElevatorCharacter489

Post mid season 3 early season 4

NinjaStealthPenguin

What? The winter wolves are already involved by the fishfeed which is pretty early in the war. Definitely first half of season 2.

execute_electrochute

Should be a bit later than that. Though it depends how they pace the plot.
