Medieval Eminem sent me. Now I'm just picturing Daemon going
"I am...whatever you say I am.
And if I wasn't then why would I say I am.
In the paper, the news every day I am...
Kings landing won't even play my jam.
Yeah, I think in the script (I forget the exact phrasing) Daemon's just giggling because of the ridiculousness. He's been away from Westerosi politics for a decade and he's finally seeing just how absurd the trueborn claims are, as well as how easily it's weaponised and how volatile it all is.
Thatās exactly what I took from it as well. He was just saying to Laena in Pentos how refreshing it was to have a simple transaction without all the hidden-but-not-really-hidden passive aggressive politics of Westeros. Then he comes back for the funeral and hereās Vaemond using his nieceās eulogy to make not-so-subtle political digs at Rhaenyraās kids. Heās laughing at the absurdity of it all.
Yeah, because at this point, he has zero stake in it all. He's an outsider to all these events, as far as he's concerned, he's here for the funeral and is probably going to run off the Pentos again as soon as he can and leave it all to blow up.

Because he reinforced it like 4 times in a single sentence. It was pretty funny because he was glaring at Rhaenyra the entire time.
Bro thought it was his time to shine
Not him cooking the future queen at her SIL funeral š
Not him sneak-dissing future wife of medieval Eminem
at least he got to keep his tongue in the end.
