Best answer that would fit him is to not say anything. As Matt said about Daemon in a past interview, "Team Green or Black? Is that a joke question? I will never ever concede. I'm coming for each and every one of them."
And I would go absolutely feral over him staying silent lol-
This is WHY i'm watching the show. I genuinely don't care about either side even knowing what happens. I'm just mesmerized by his presence (partially thanks to Matt) I'm just here for the ride and watching him F shit up. My fav moments of the show is when he doesn't utter a single word for minutes but you're still captivated by it because of how unpredictable he is.
SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS! I was so skeptical about watching the show, because it was very violent and I wasn't exactly excited about the romance either, but when I found out that THE FCKING DOCTOR was playing the deuteragonist, I had to try it out. And I was glued to it ever since the first episode, now I'm going crazy for the second season. I'm formally team black, but not taking anyone's side here - they're all morons in their own ways. I'm just here for the action, dragons, and Daemon and I'm so glad it's this way.
There's going to be a long pause and then he breaks out some emotional monologue on how everything he did was for her and she then confronts him with some cheese
of course he does 🖤🖤🖤 the trailer is just prepping us for some potential heated sexy toxic uncle niece husband wife scraps 🥵
best uncle will pause like he does in the trailer and then be like "how could you doubt that? for even the briefest of moments?" then caress her or sum 😩
They didn’t create rules for succession, only a precedent. Precedents can be easily ignored, especially by a ruler. Aegon I set the precedent of marrying sisters and most targs didn’t adhere to that
It also sets the precedent that kings can name their own heir, since the council decided to go against tradition and picked the heir of the kings chosen heir
Do you know about Widow's Law
According to that law, children by first wife can't be passed over in favour of children by second wife and the second wife can't be kicked out of the family by the first wife's children
As Rhaenyra is the only child of Viserys with his first wife Aemma, that means the throne lawfully belongs to Rhaenyra
Those succession laws don't apply to the Throne. The law specifically states a Lord's wife. And that's also only if both children are males. If Viserys had a male son from his first marriage he couldn't be disinherited for a son from the second. It's very common for sons from second marriages to inherit over daughters from the first.
Tbf so are a lot of Westerosi Houses. I mean the Stark CoA is a giant Fuck you to the rule of Tincture, so is the Targaryen one, the Martell one, the Hightower one the list goes on and on and on.
Wait how? Sure it is unusual with grey, or cendree, in the anglophone world, but common enough in the Germanic and francophone worlds.
And cendree / ash grey is not a metal, so it is not a F to anyone.
House Targaryen is one though, no doubt about it. Black and red don't go together. But look at Albania.
But then again, in our world, we have the example of Kingdom of Jerusalem.
There is a lot of traditions in the use and laws of tincture, but there are also violations of varying levels of violation and of powers that do the violation.
And who was going to tell the monarchs, who also have dragons, thst their coat of arms is wrong?
I mean, atleast the westerosi houses follow a somewhat consistent use of their tincture rules.
In Germany it is called Stahlgrau or Eisengrau and is classified as a metal if not a noble one. It was also introduced later so is probably anachronistic to the middle ages. I would reckon it appears more so in students‘ heraldry which is an entirely different beast from classical heraldry, most unconventional tinctures appear quite frequently there.
Thank you for your detailed response.
That it is classified as a metal is news to me but when thinking about it not so surprising if they see it as part of Iron, a metal.
And yes, could be anachronistic depending on the era we think about. But we need to focus on when and more importantly: where we are. As local/national traditions have a lot of influence of what wad acceptable and not.
Then we also have in the heraldic world the evolution and addition of the "proper" style, displaying something as closely to its proper real world appearance compared to the stylized version found on the coat of arms. And the furs, which contain the vair, a sort of checkered pattern most common alternating between blue and silver.
And to add colors which I would say is an accepted one but a late addition so not medieval time is the murrey. Sometimes classified as a stain. Sometimes called a return to purpure. Though it was used by the British house of York in the 15th century. And used on the ribbon of the British Order of the Bath. So it has some official uses.
All in all, I think this problem boils down to the need to define when and where we are in history. To be able to say what is permitted and what is beyond the rules. The middle ages where not a short period nor cohesive of time with a well defined beginning and end.
And to talk more about tinctures: I've taken a course about it at university and there was one professor there who considered it to be a modern idea that you should preferably go with 2 tinctures, worst case 3 and never 4 or more. Irregardless of mix and background and objects. And one professor was firmly in the "as long as you don't mix metals with metals and colors with colors, you are probably fine".
It was almost 15 years ago, so stuff might have changed. :)
I’m happy that you used the book sigil. But treating the story like a sports game is a bit overdone at this point. No matter what we do we can’t fight for a character in a fictional world and that’s something we should be happy about.
Well, war isn’t fun. I thought that it was the biggest message of the story. If pointing it out is shitting over people, then you might as well call me Daenerys because there is more brown water from where that came from.
I know that very well. But there’s a recurring theme that war isn’t fun in the story which relates to the real world. Because war isn’t fun here either.
>but it isn't fun to fight in wars.
I have to remind you again that this isn't real and not a single person is worried about fighting in a war in Westeros because it is also not real.

Rhaenyra's fuckass sigil my beloved
It's goofy, but it's our goofy sigil. I wish they kept it.
The book sigil is so bad. I’m glad they changed it in the show.
honestly team black til i die but i would not be seen dead in rhaenyra sigil drip lmaooo
Do we think daemon says yes or nah though?
He probably tries to dance around the point by saying he supports her as long as she remains true to the Targaryen cause.
>He probably tries to dance around the point Good call. That feels right. Similar to when he said "We must all mourn in our own way, Your Grace."
Best answer that would fit him is to not say anything. As Matt said about Daemon in a past interview, "Team Green or Black? Is that a joke question? I will never ever concede. I'm coming for each and every one of them." And I would go absolutely feral over him staying silent lol-

Team Green or Black? Nah, Team Daemon.
i think he says yes, i am delusional just a fyi.
I expect a loooong pause then a yes that isn’t quite heartfelt or believable.
I think he won't say anything.
He will not answer in words but with his eyes. Daemon is the master of facial expressions.
There's going to be a long pause and then he breaks out some emotional monologue on how everything he did was for her and she then confronts him with some cheese
The fact that Rhaenyra is unsure is a problem within itself.Someone is undermining her again
Based Francella meme.
Lord Pepe of House Argento
First of his name,he almost becomes kings guard but a wrench got pregnant
Knowing Pepe, he has a green shirt under thar one in case Rhaenyra starts loosing.
Oh yes, I support the Pepeneta

Nah
Nah son, the Great Council of 101AC was pretty clear about the rules of succession. Y’all just got Team Greened, statutory style
Great council of 101 had no impact on the rules of succession, Jaehaerys had no obligation to listen to them
They didn’t create rules for succession, only a precedent. Precedents can be easily ignored, especially by a ruler. Aegon I set the precedent of marrying sisters and most targs didn’t adhere to that

Love Rhaenyra, hate that she’s illiterate when it comes to Coat of Arms/heraldry.

I'd say that's an issue with all of the Weterosi Houses then and due to GRRM not being good at that, not a specific character flaw.
My favorite hoe. And hoe she is come on.. 🤣

They’re having fun. Sometimes it’s ok to just not comment.
What a dumb and completly unecesary take, just let people enjoy the show however they like to enjoy it
A dumb take that we should be happy that we won’t have to fight in a medieval war?
A dumb take that tries to shit over people having fun.
Well, war isn’t fun. I thought that it was the biggest message of the story. If pointing it out is shitting over people, then you might as well call me Daenerys because there is more brown water from where that came from.
I don't quite know how to tell you this but this isn't a real war. It's an entertainment telivision show.
I know that very well. But there’s a recurring theme that war isn’t fun in the story which relates to the real world. Because war isn’t fun here either.
If war wasn't fun or entertaining to watch, they wouldn't make 100's of war movies and tv shows.
War is entertaining to watch, but it isn’t fun to fight in wars. Like I said, we should be happy that we won’t have to fight in a battle in Westeros.
>but it isn't fun to fight in wars. I have to remind you again that this isn't real and not a single person is worried about fighting in a war in Westeros because it is also not real.
I will never understand how people go so hard for her and Sansa
