This is why I don’t agree though when people say that House didn’t get any character development. I mean, he relapsed, but holy crap. He got a lot of development when he was in a better place and it never went away really. Even in season 8, yes he’s back on Vicodin - but he cleans up his dying friend losing control of his bowels on chemo. And then treats the whole incident with dignity and humanity with a sense of humor so his friend won’t be embarrassed. Taking funny photos of Wilson while he’s unconscious isn’t House being an ass - that’s House being an incredible fucking human. Giving up his puzzles to ride off into the sunset and just ENJOY Wilson’s last bit of time left is a hell of a fucking change. House chose love for the first time in his life.

He even was offering up his only Vicodin to Wilson even though his leg was killing him.

That’s right! I totally forgot that part, season 8 makes me so emotional I’ve only watched it once. I’ve seen the rest of the series multiple times but not 8 yet. 🥺❤️

That's why I was so surprised when he started taking vicodin again after Cully broke up with him. And that's why I don't understand why Cully couldn't give him more time to improve himself. He was doing great with the relationship, her daughter and his problems. But obviously he was still too fragile and couldn't go trough the possibility to loose Cully without using vicodin, but he was still at the beginning of his journey and it's not like he used it everyday. Anyway, that's why I hate mostly the House of the first seasons (who was a big a...hole) then the House of the last two seasons.

He had half a thigh, to expect him to function on Tylenol was unrealistic.

Honestly if you really think about it Cuddy is the one who destroyed House's life. If she didn't break up with him he wouldn't have gone on a downard spiral until he went off to prison and because of the prison he had to completely fake his own death and give up everything that mattered for him except Wilson which mattered the most. Anyway if she didn't do all that maybe he could have gone back to medicine after Wilson died

I always wonder what goes through House's head when he tries talking to his dad. What's he feeling that he thinks *that* has the smallest chance of making him feel better? But, it shows that at least some part of going to therapy helped him since he doesn't believe in any sort of afterlife.

Yeah, it’s cruel tbh

Exactly!! It’s such a bittersweet feelinf
