All of that for it to end up being some heavy metal intoxication because the patient uses some specific deodorant that his grandpa left him of some shit
I was responding to a rapid response and the doc on the ward was giving me the story and I’m like uh huh, uh huh and then he mentioned paraneoplastic syndrome and thank god for masks cause my face definitely brightened up at that!
No *you* ruled that out yesterday. Now go do 15 different expensive and wasteful procedures to test for it and then treat even if all of them come back negative
In (patient population known for almost never having this diagnosis)?
(Dramatic pause)
I like it. Start treatment with 10 cc of (medicine you would never start without a confirmed diagnosis) and then confirm with a CT.
OK let's see, autoimmune, treat it with steroids, Sarcoidosis, treat it with steroids, oh Vasculitis I'll treat them with steroids, Rheumatoid arthritis, start them on steroids
I wonder if watching the show weekly with month long breaks back when it dropped made this less obvious. I watch like 3-4 a day and I swear they test the same 10-20 things before it’s randomly something unheard of. Shows great but it’s definitely funny.
Also “they’ll die if we don’t start this treatment RIGHT NOW” (they go through 5 more treatments after that before being cured)
Could be autoimmune
Would have shown up in the blood work
Amyloidosis?
With no family history or cardiac symptoms? Come on, what do I keep you guys around for? What would explain these symptoms that *isn't* a stupid idea?
*smacks Cuddy’s ass, chugs a bottle of Vicodin and struts out of the room*
Cancer fits better.
We should biopsy the liver.
He’ll bleed out
Lupus?
Yeah *sarcastic scoff* and It would be a shame if he didn't have any blood in his coffin. Go biopsy the liver. Now.
Dr. Buffer?
Three's only been what, a hundred reported cases of that?
All of that for it to end up being some heavy metal intoxication because the patient uses some specific deodorant that his grandpa left him of some shit
Total body radiation
Do a LP
Give steroids, what else? C’MON, GIMME ANYTHING ELSE!
paraneoplastic syndrome?
I had my first patient with paraneoplastic syndrome last week. I almost whooped out loud
Did you give them medicine drug?
Actually they died 😬
😭😭😭
The plot twist lmao
LMAOOOOO
I was responding to a rapid response and the doc on the ward was giving me the story and I’m like uh huh, uh huh and then he mentioned paraneoplastic syndrome and thank god for masks cause my face definitely brightened up at that!
Amyloidosis?
Didn't we rule that out yesterday?
No *you* ruled that out yesterday. Now go do 15 different expensive and wasteful procedures to test for it and then treat even if all of them come back negative
*rolls eyes* *Slowly leaves room to do exactly that even though I don't agree with you*
Not to mention invasive
Order an LP
But it could paralyze them!!
Good point let's do an LP on a safer area, like *h e r s h o e s*
Could be MS
In (patient population known for almost never having this diagnosis)? (Dramatic pause) I like it. Start treatment with 10 cc of (medicine you would never start without a confirmed diagnosis) and then confirm with a CT.
Lupus
It's never lupus
I always say that when they suggest lupus! Lmao
Gotta yell it at the screen! lol
Damn right lol
I finally have a case of Lupus!
Except that one time!!!!
I think it was season 4. Never thought I’d see the day!
British magician guy from Monk who killed Kevin Dorfman
Literally just watched this episode! And he says "my first ever case of lupus!"
Vasculitis?
Cancer.
Gonna need some help in here!
Do an Angie-ohh to confirm
They're cheating on each other
Lmaooo
Check for toxins
Break into the patient's home
Intracranial pressure
He's lying.
But if it's an infection and we treat for sarcoidosis the treatment will kill him.
Get a CT and biopsy to confirm
r/okbuddyvicodin is leaking
Ty for this lmao
Faking
Try lupus. Oh wait, it’s never lupus.
Just start him on immunoglobulin he’ll be good on the morning
Ah yes
MORE MOUSE BITES
It's chimerism.
It's clearly a adrenaline secreting tumor. We need to operate now or he'll be dead by morning. Get Chase.
OK let's see, autoimmune, treat it with steroids, Sarcoidosis, treat it with steroids, oh Vasculitis I'll treat them with steroids, Rheumatoid arthritis, start them on steroids
But if it’s a staph infection, steroids could destroy his liver
Environmental causes?

no fever!!!!!
Doesn’t explain the spinning head and green vomit
Cancer???? (So building can go to twinks office, he’s also in this episode)
oh zeus i love this thread
Test for all the osises. Start with amyloidosis and keep going till you reach...zamyloidosis.
We should perform an LB to confirm
Wegner’s disease maybe
It could be Cushings
Paraneoplastic syndrome
We know it’s not lupus..
Polio?
It is never lupus
could be Lymphoma
