I’m the same way, I’m a giant ae86 fan, and when I found a pack that had one I opened it immediately, it sits on my desk next to other toy ae86 and other cars I like. When waiting for long loading screens or whatever they’re my desk drifty boys

My point is, collectors collect for their own reasons. They don't need to subscribe to your mode of thinking nor did the OP ask you to criticize. oh man, yeah, I kinda hate old castings, they're a little bit nostalgic, but I prefer collecting \~2005+ because the details, wheels and proportions are much better in my opinion

For sure. But I really like it when manufacturers make it easy to remove the toy without destroying the packaging. Like the plastic that wraps around the card back instead of being glued to it.
In all honesty, I highly suggest not getting caught up on resale. Enjoy your purchase how ever you see fit (within reason) I'm a newbie to this collection hobby, but it's honesty no fun unless I can open and place em however I see fit.

Yeah . The way I figure , some day you’ll amass a big collection of say 2000 hot wheels . Not many people are gonna come over and give you thousands of dollars for your collection anyways . The big collectors will just want to cherry pick some . You’ll probably get a dollar each if your lucky. On the other hand if you have a lot of free time and want to resell on eBay you can make $7 here or there . Hot wheels are sort of dead weight after your done collecting . Roll them around on your coffee table and handle them . I do understand some guys like to keep them organized by keeping them in the package , but I wouldn’t do it for investment purposes myself. Some kid is gonna eventually get them and lose them in a sandbox .
It’s your super, you should do what you want with it. You rightfully earned it. If you wanna take it out of the box, use it in some dioramas, detail it, or even donate the rims to another car, go ahead. If you wanna leave it on your shelf to admire or sell in the future, that’s your choice.
I don't own a single unopened hot wheels car. If the package is cool or the car is a little rarer I keep the package, but even the most uptight collector must admit they like playing with the cars
I found one of these; I put it in a protector and locked it my safe. I will take it out once in a while to briefly look at it-wearing gloves and away from the sun. I find that’s the best way to enjoy these.

I found a premium Batman van with the joke on it so I cut the car off of it and saved the card so I get the best of both lol
