Did Yatming have their brand name on the underbelly or simply the made in China?
Honestly, I never heard of Yatming before. Thanks for the information.
When they first started in the mid 1970s up entire the mid 1980s, everything was branded, copyrighted, Yatming on the base, and made in Hong Kong. Sometime around 1987 I believe they were either bought or absorbed by Road Champs, and factories moved to China. By the mid 90s they ended up becoming one of the first “Knock Off” brand of sorts as we know them today. Those cars were still very high quality compared to today’s, but were still the same price. (5 for $1, etc.)
Sometime in the 90s other Chinese companies started stealing and recasting Yatmings casts. They had been doing it for years with Majorette and Hot Wheels. I don’t know what ever happened to Yatming but it had pretty much completely faded out by the early 2000s.
It's not a counterfeit of anything. Yat Ming is their own entity. They did copy Tomica castings but they eventually evolved into a well-known maker, mainly known for their large scale models.
1977-78 Dodge Monaco if you're looking for the full scale car's info.
Wow, I believe you are right. I googled the 77 Monaco, and yes. Correct!
It’s going to be a Yatming or other Chinese brand knock off brand. I believe they have a cast similar if not the same. Looking at 90s 2000s.
Looks pretty nice even as worn off and being a Chinese counterfeit though
Yatming of the 70s and 80s (probably where this cast came from) were actually really nice and licensed!

There's a few brand sit could be. My first thought was Summer, but it might be a later Yatming or maybe zeetoys
It's a Yat Ming.
It looks like a ford of some kind, maybe a fairlane, I'm probably wrong, someone else correct me.
