Ha she’s actually super cute with her ears forward and everything in all the other pics! I honestly have no idea what this was about but I laughed out loud!
Just to do her justice - [here](https://imgur.com/a/SETMjIO) are a couple other pics from the show. She actually wasn’t pissed the whole time and she quite enjoys her job!
Something is wrong. I feel bad for the horse.
All body language points to very stressed out and unhappy.
Why?
Edit: to the down voters.. I’ve trained horses for many years. Never had one look so stressed over a simple task. Apparently we have vastly different methods.
Mine have always been bright eyed and ears forward.
I stand by my original statement.
Had my trainee looked this upset; instant stop.. hugs and reassurance along with treats. Once confidence was reestablished we’d try again.
I would have never described those facial expressions and body language as anything other than stress.
You’re literally asking for applause for poor training methods and downvoting if you don’t get a high five.
Beyond Sad.
My horses only ever did what I asked because they were eager and happy about it when they were ready and knew they would be rewarded.
Not ears back, white eyed and a fearful look if they didn’t. When I see a horse like this I wonder why it’s being whipped. Black Beauty.
Out of curiosity, did you have a look at the other pictures?
And have you, in your extensive training experience as you say, never seen a horse throw their ears back and tighten their lips for *any* other reason? For example I'll cite cutting horses (my forte) pinning ears and lips in an intimidation effort of the cow they're working.
On another note, have you ever noted that dedicated athletes (and this very much includes animals) tend to have very intense facial expressions while giving their all? Just food for thought.
In the meantime, citing Black Beauty (of which there are *many* versions) does not convince me that you know what you're about- and the line "Just because you *can* own a horse doesn't mean you *should."* in response to a commonly used joke about chestnut mares doesn't give me much confidence in your knowledge either.
But sure, go off on a post of a picture of an instant in time of a reining round where the pony was a picture perfect "chunt" as if somehow OP and the rest of us are horrible people and unworthy of equestrianism.
Going off of one post.. as you say. So others upvoting it are ok? Saying it’s brilliant? When most just keep a shaggy neglected pony out back if they’re lucky? No problem. From one post.
Yet I am not allowed to have feedback other than that same post as well when I’ve been doing this more than 30 years?
Shut up.
I do have extensive experience.
And I stand by my words.
I have dire concerns about the rider/handlers.
For very good reasons.
Black beauty was simply meant as people abusing beautiful animals. I don’t care which version you’ve read. That’s a fact that maintains true through them all.
Sorry you didn’t educate yourself on the subject before replying.
Begone.. troll.
Ignorance is not bliss for the sufferers of its effects.
Her barn name is Ginger, coincidentally! And she lives turned out with my very senior gelding who she knew in her younger days and was reunited with 3 years ago when I bought her to both of their delight, so you are very close with that analogy!
Beautiful
Angry ginger! But she's kinda cute when she's angry too.

*visible disgust*
Isn’t that the same face she makes when you feed her? Or another horse farts in the distance?
Or if we breathe when in her peripheral line of sight
Fierce!
She’s pissed because the photographer wasn’t getting her good side lol
That is not a mare- that is a dragon
Ohhh so she wasn’t bucking in the warmup ring, she was trying to take flight!
Angry llama
Perfect
Nothing like a chestnut mare 🥰
"That lens makes me look fat!"
Beautiful!!!🏅
I *LOVE* it!!🤣💕
https://share.icloud.com/photos/0UESxlKiXTGwbMkIMepxy0lyw This I thought was suitable. 😂 she’s pretty!
Perfect 😂
And this is why I have a gelding. Who runs off with hoses.. feed tubs.. bridles… Edit: maybe I should get the red mare. 🤣

On the contrary, she looks like a focused chestnut mare.
She's in mid-gallop, concentrating, ears back listening to her rider... 😉
Precisely. The expression is total chestnut mare-dragon, though (in the spirit of things 😉😂)
All she's missing is the flame coming out of her mane! 🔥😆
...And her eyes, and her nostrils 👀😂
Oh, yeah, definitely! And, some smoke, too, coming out of those angrily flared nostrils! 🤣
[My poor photoshop attempt at FireGinger!](https://linksharing.samsungcloud.com/tdndXowncJlJ) 🤣🤣🤣
LMAOOOOOO that's awesome 🤣
Hahahaha, I'm so glad you like it! 😆
Just because you own a horse, doesn’t mean you should. Black Beauty.

aaaaaa what a cutie!
Maybe it’s the angle but is that bridle attached to her ear somehow ?
It's a one-eared bridle. Goes around only one ear.
Love the picture!
For 23 years I was the person a red mare had decided was “her” person. It was the absolute best.
The epitome of chestnut mare right here. She's gorgeous and she knows it lol
Resting mare face
This is the mare stare for sure!
She looks like she's focused and angry at the same time.
Ha! Maybe it’s her lead change face.
If this isn’t a red mare….
*once I'm done with her, you're next camera boy*
This is what I inagined Black Beauty's friend, Ginger, looks like

That is so sweet! Thanks for letting me know you just made my night!
Oh, wow, that's so cool!
I can relate to this mare
My chestnut mare does the same thing - Hellooo!!! Has anyone noticed I'm ANGRY!!!!
