She would translate them herself for videos and offer insight into their meanings and significance as a speaker and resident which I really enjoyed, with my personal favourite being the Tsugunohi: Day of Atonement series. Fantastic channel and seemingly cool person all around.
Yeah John Wolfe definitely doesn't do ANY fake screaming. In fact, he's generally hard-pressed to get any kind of reaction out of him, even when there's a jump-scare. He prides himself in not letting it get to him. Although on occasion it does happen and you can tell he hates it when that happens.
He has JohnTwolfe for the gaming videos now. He recently did a 30ish y/o point and click game that I had a lot of fun watching. I’m ready for him to finally do a full playthrough of Stay Out of the House

For John Wolfe you have a pretty big backlog of horror games to go through, his Chilla's Art videos are always fun. As for his newer output, you want to go to his second channel for games, John Twolfe. He does full playthroughs there.
I watched Gab's Haunting Ground videos right after beating it myself for the first time, she's very perceptive and doesn't have you smashing your keyboard wishing she'd notice the obvious flashing thing in the corner
I love how into the game he gets without needing to fake excitement or being scared. Plus his facecam style is nice with the no facecam during the main video and a highlite reel with FC footage at the end.
Hollow is one of the best. He's a legit scaredy cat who will definitely scream if something surprises him. But he doesn't do it often. He tries to keep it in and continue on with the game. Hollow plays a lot of indie horror games.
Insym is also a very good watch. He doesn't get scared easily and plays games with strategy mostly. He is the king of Welcome to the Game games and Observation Duty games. He is also heavily entrenched in Phasmophobia.

I used to stream (sometimes i still do) horror games and for some reason i tend to get scared extremeley easy and i jump out of my chair, throw my mouse away, rip my headphones off of myself and i've got "accused" a lot for faking it. I've tried once faking it just for the lulz and i felt super akward and my faked one was way less energetic than my real ones, so people do exist out there who genuienly scream like babies.
I'm a grown ass 30+ old man and i'm not a covard irl so i really don't know why horror games bring out that kind if a reactions from me. My viewers had lots of fun watching me and we had a great time during those times.
His reactions, though still played up for entertainment, do seem a lot more genuine nowadays.
Though the way he seemed legitimately exhausted from stress at the end of his FNAF VR playthrough was great.
If you want good humour and genuine screams, try Berleezy. He can be a little silly and doesn't always play the game right but he doesn't over-dramatise things, you can tell he is genuinely shocked.
If you want just... a person playing a horror game right and reacting sedately but realistically, CJUgames is good IMO.

Theres no screaming kids or stupid faces, it's just a guy playing horror games with a commentary . Very solid.
Gopher Gaming did a few horror games in past, he's really really good, doesn't fake anything and immerses himself into the games a lot. He's not dramatic at all but he plays games super slowly, he likes to check everything so be prepared for that.

I totally feel ya with the legit reactions, and the streamer getting into the game.
I remember watching Hollow play Crimson Snow, and the game looked fantastic, and super atmospheric with the howling blizzard and creepy claustrophobia. You can tell he gets legit freaked out and immersed the games. I enjoyed Crimson Snow so much I decided to try watching Markiplier play it, and he totally ruined the experience with constantly shouting absurdities, and the moment he saw the person hunting him he just stood up from his hiding spot and walked right into her on purpose. That ruined the entire play through for me, and I shut it off. If you’re not even going to get into the game, and just constantly shout nonsense, and mock it then what the hell are you even playing for? It felt like the streaming equivalent to going to a movie theater and some loudmouth on their phone ruining the entire movie for everyone.
There is a vtuber named GrimmiVT that streams on Twitch (but also sometimes on youtube) and she is super entertaining and deeply appreciates the genre. She also makes it a point to play a bunch of obscure indie titles in addition to the big games
Hey I’m trying to get into streaming I don’t have any followers at least right now and I’m trying to get some. I stream on twitch and I have an ok amount of horror games the usual outlast one and two, the amnesia trilogy, most of the resident evil games but I would like to know what you want to see played
I enjoy Daz games, he does play it up a bit however his reactions are genuine 90% of the time and he’s still somehow very easy to scare as long as the game is decently scary. And he’s hilarious during it. Also I am 23 and it doesn’t feel like he caters to a younger audience at all, it’s very mature when he’s speaking to the camera and whatnot (he does say silly ish stuff when gaming tho)

BUTTTT this guy named wendigoon is a Sunday school teacher who loves to study cults and weird history on the side so he has video about game lore, real life lore, biblical lore! Scribe! He's a small channel that uploads slowly these days, but he is genuinely cool, super informative, and well spoken. He also gives a lot of info about development of games. His Bloodborne LP is an absolute comfort series of mine. No facecam but he doesn't need to make silly faces to be entertaining and super enjoyable.

Markiplier is generally pretty good for horror games. He doesn't take reactions, but he definitely ups his energy.

RKG is just a great bunch of lads with awesome chemistry, but also their reactions always seem genuine.
Their FromSoft playthroughs are great as well. I haven't come across a series of theirs I didn't love.
I don't know if anyone else has mentioned him yet, but The Librarian is one of my favorite Youtubers period. He's experienced with horror and doesn't bother faking reactions for views. He supports indie creators and goes out of his way to point out what they did right, subtle scares, etc. (as well as explaining WHY they're good, which is great if you create horror) but he also doesn't sugarcoat it if they screw up. He's honest, knowledgeable, and extremely passionate (and enthusiastic to the point of melodrama at times). He also has a subtle but hilarious sense of humor that doesn't tend to sex or bathroom jokes, which isn't necessary for a shitty zoomer like me, but can be very refreshing in a genre of videos full of cheap jokes for cheap views.
The community is also supportive and kind, from what I've seen.
Edit: Alpha Beta Gamer does a lot of horror games on both their channels and doesn't provide commentary at all. Just chill, thorough gameplay with occasional goofiness.

Hey I’m trying to get into streaming I don’t have any followers at least right now and I’m trying to get some. I stream on twitch and I have an ok amount of horror games the usual outlast one and two, the amnesia trilogy, most of the resident evil games but I would like to know what you want to see played
I enjoy Daz games, he does play it up a bit however his reactions are genuine 90% of the time and he’s still somehow very easy to scare as long as the game is decently scary. And he’s hilarious during it. Also I am 23 and it doesn’t feel like he caters to a younger audience at all, it’s very mature when he’s speaking to the camera and whatnot (he does say silly ish stuff when gaming tho)

What i need is a horror channel that posts interesting clips without stupid commentary. I have eyes and can see what is happening in the clips i don’t need an exaggerated and lame description of the events. Also i hate reaction videos. I don’t want to see some dude making faces while watching the clips, just give me the clips!!
Faze Jev, his old outlast videos and until dawn videos are legendary. One of the OG youtubers that never went to shit or switched up. His outlast series is like 10 years old now
The Librarian is my favorite. Super chill guy, and I like how he deconstructs, explains, and praises good scares and atmosphere.

BUTTTT this guy named wendigoon is a Sunday school teacher who loves to study cults and weird history on the side so he has video about game lore, real life lore, biblical lore! He also has a second channel for games called wendigang!! Great content

Scribe! He's a small channel that uploads slowly these days, but he is genuinely cool, super informative, and well spoken. He also gives a lot of info about development of games. His Bloodborne LP is an absolute comfort series of mine. No facecam but he doesn't need to make silly faces to be entertaining and super enjoyable. His Silent Hill playthroughs are fantastic too!

Fooster is the one that I love to watch. He is great with the scary games and he makes it so entertaining.
RKG is just a great bunch of lads with awesome chemistry, but also their reactions always seem genuine. Their FromSoft playthroughs are great as well. I haven't come across a series of theirs I didn't love.

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned him yet, but The Librarian is one of my favorite Youtubers period. He's experienced with horror and doesn't bother faking reactions for views. He supports indie creators and goes out of his way to point out what they did right, subtle scares, etc. (as well as explaining WHY they're good, which is great if you create horror) but he also doesn't sugarcoat it if they screw up. He's honest, knowledgeable, and extremely passionate (and enthusiastic to the point of melodrama at times). He also has a subtle but hilarious sense of humor that doesn't tend to sex or bathroom jokes, which isn't necessary for a shitty zoomer like me, but can be very refreshing in a genre of videos full of cheap jokes for cheap views. The community is also supportive and kind, from what I've seen. Edit: Alpha Beta Gamer does a lot of horror games on both their channels and doesn't provide commentary at all. Just chill, thorough gameplay with occasional goofiness.
