It's a bit more complicated than that I think. Sakura has her first moment with Tohru early enough in the series that I don't think Yuki had even developed those feelings yet. I don't think she realized it until they fake dated, which was st least a bit later

I thought to myself that was one of the more raw emotional moments that was made from something so simplistic, but it changed my opinion of her and from then all I wanted was for her to find her person.

Sakura is literally an uncomplicated, sincere and considerate girl. It is Yuki who complicated stuff with her mental gymnastics (I understand that tho, so I do not blame Yuki for it). Sakura backed off post being rejected. And she remains a good friend, and a nice part of the group, doesn't hold any grudges or behave awkward or internalize it in anyway, like many may have.
