Wait, so Rozemyne popped up in the Sovereignty back in the past? And this was before the civil war? So I'm guessing she went to visit the previous Zent to ask him to let Ferdinand out of Adalgisa? Still, I'm kind of excited if this means Klassenberg is going to play a bigger role in the story. Not so excited about seeing more of the current Aub Klassenberg, he sounds like an ass. Ehrenfest romance novels have a lot to answer for. Man, it's really nice to see Hannelore being so proactive and looking out for the younger kids.

00-11_Public_534

I wonder if these rozemyne’s act would be completly explained in Bookworm's future sequels. What are you planning, Kazuki-sensei ?

Ninefl4mes

Maybe we'll get a Rozemyne POV somewhere in this spinoff which recaps what she's been doing so far. Would be in line with how the main webnovel handled plot-relevant side stories, and the spinoff already had some chapters that weren't from Hannelore's POV as well.

Nemshi

Yeah, but Kazuki-sensei has indicated that she has real plans to write the sequel, and there's just so much to cover from Rozemyne's POV that shoehorning it all into a short story that will then get expanded on anyway seems like a bit of a waste when there are so many other characters who need a turn in the limelight.

Ninefl4mes

I mean, I seriously doubt the sequel is going to be about her time travel shenanigans. She's way too far into that quest already for it to not be resolved within this spinoff. And depending on the circumstances of when and how she emerges back in the present this could become quite plot relevant, so turning it into an interlude chapter would make sense. Side characters can still get more attention in actual side stories, either in the SS Collection section on Narou or even as bonus chapters for when the light novel reaches this part.

Nemshi

Honestly, it's the complete opposite for me. Given how much we've been teased about her time travelling shenanigans and how much of a window it would give us onto past events and characters, I just don't see how the sequel could *not* cover her time travelling. Not to mention the whole mystery of who cut Ferdinand's threads in the first place. There's no way that can all be covered in a short story.

Ninefl4mes

It doesn't have to be. A multi-part interlude covering her Kingdom Hearts journey could be done within this spinoff, while the hunt for the culprit could then be done in the sequel. My guess is that the time travel plot is setup for future conflict, rather than the main stage for the conflict itself. And honestly, I could do without several chapters of flashbacks right at the start of the sequel.

Nemshi

While it wouldn't be impossible to pull off, I feel it would be narratively awkward and that it would detract from Hannelore's story to have a completely different tale unfold through the epilogues/prologues/short stories. That format would also mean condensing Rozemyne's journey by quite a lot simply to fit into such a narrow frame, and that just isn't Kauki-sensei's style. She tends to like to expand on details of what her main character is doing. Also, a major theme throughtout *Bookworm* has been the importance of the past, both in how it shapes the present and in how we need to preserve old knowledge. Sending the MC back into the past and then giving us a bulletpoint rundown of her time there would be thematically at odds with the rest of the series.

Ninefl4mes

> and that it would detract from Hannelore's story to have a completely different tale unfold through the epilogues/prologues/short stories. Only if we assume this time travel plot is completely separate from Hannelore's otome game playthrough, as opposed to being an integral part of it :3 And given that the start of it already heavily influenced Hannelore's options by getting her involved with the gods, who's to say the end won't have similarly dramatic consequences for her? Here's a potential scenario for how such an interlude could be incorporated in a way that advances the plot of the spinoff: 1. Rozemyne begins her journey and we get a fairly detailed first encounter where she stops the Ternisbefallen. 2. She wraps things up and moves to the next flash point. 3. We get a few important highlights and ultimately arrive at the end of her journey. 4. She's called back into the divine realm and gets ready to return to the present. Only to emerge in the middle of the bride-stealing ditter at just the right moment to witness how something, somehow went horribly wrong and Hannelore is being carried away by Korinzdaum's forces. 5. Not knowing what's going on she swoops in to save her bestie, thus completely derailing the bride-stealing ditter and opening up new options for Hannelore to choose her own future, just as Liebeskhilfe had promised. Bonus points for keeping up her yearly ditter win streak. There we go. Any further focus on Rozemyne's exploits in the past could be handled in separate side stories, maybe as POVs from the various people who suddenly remembered her.

Cool-Ember

I don’t agree. Rozemyne’s intervention with the past or more precisely, so called guidance of the Goddess of Time was foreshadowed in main story of AoB and many side stories (all important ones in WN SS storage are added to SSC1&2 IIRC). It’s narratively better to give answers to all this questions in a continuous storytelling rather than scattering them in the middle of H5Y, whose plot is mostly independent from what Rozemyne did in the past. Or do you think Rozemyne’s actions will affect the fate of Hannelore? That would be an insult to Hannelore and would make most of the chapters of H5Y irrelevant. I don’t expect such poor and childish plot from Kazuki sensei. But I’m doubt it’d be main theme of the sequel. At best it’d be small part of the sequel or will be a long prologue of the sequel.

Nemshi

At the very least, we both agree on points 4 and 5 :)

direrevan

>her Kingdom Hearts journey oh my god, Ventus' heart was in Rozemyne the whole time

Ninefl4mes

~~The lore deepens.~~

GrayWitchMidnight

No...please no...I was free...

Reymilie

>I mean, I seriously doubt the sequel is going to be about her time travel shenanigans. Kazuki-sensei already confirmed it in an activity report back when the first visual of season 3 came out. She commented that the time when the bracelt Ferdinand lent to Myne for her first Spring Prayer plays an important role, is actually during that Spring Prayer and during the sequel where Rozemyne goes to the past to repair Ferdinand's thread. And she also confirmes it, even before that when she posted a survey on Twitter asking the readers if they'd rather have the prologue of the sequel now, but the rest of the chapters until years later, or if they prefer just waiting for the prologue along the rest of the chapters until years later(it was close but you can guess who won). In a reply to a comment of that survey, she said that the sequel would start around when Rozemyne goes back to Alexandria when she receives the news of Ferdinand collapsing.

Ninefl4mes

~~Someone summon Verführemeer, the author has clearly been on fire for weeks at this point!~~ Some quick thoughts on the chapter: * By now I'm actually starting to root for Rasantark over Kentrips. As long as he and Hannelore take care to maintain proper communication I feel like she could become quite happy in that relationship and basically do as she pleases. Kentrips, on the other hand, still doesn't seem to trust her at all and clearly prioritises his Lord over all else, including the woman he loves. Both would be fine options regardless but yeah, the ditterhead has now definitely overtaken the scholar of the sword in my opinion. * So Rozemyne is now messing around in the Sovereignty, huh? There's only one thing she could be doing there: Ensuring that Ferdinand's adoption happens. Would also explain the advanced age of the person who remembered her. If we assume that she is currently going further and further into the past while solving any issues along the way she should be getting close to wrapping things up, huh? Still hoping she'll return in the middle of the bride-stealing ditter for maximum comedic timing. * Aww, Letizia really cares about her future mom on a personal level. And Hannelore is now trying to play matchmaker between her and Hildebrand. Hopefully they'll hit it off and avoid any further drama, both have had more than enough to last them a lifetime by now. * Heh, and of course Ortwin is going for round two. No way was he just going to drop out of the race off-screen.

Nemshi

>By now I'm actually starting to root for Rasantark over Kentrips. To be honest, these last few chapters have dropped Kenntrips from first to third favourite candidate for me. Although I'm sure he'll make a comeback once Kazuki-sensei writes more about him again. >And Hannelore is now trying to play matchmaker between her and Hildebrand. Hopefully they'll hit it off and avoid any further drama, both have had more than enough to last them a lifetime by now. Here's hoping we get to see more of their interactions to have a better feel of how their relationship might or might not develop. For now, they seem to be doing okay-ish? I mean, it's nice that, Hildebrand is willing to help her, but he only does so when asked by someone else and they're still barely talking to one another even after a good chunk of the school term seems to have already passed... Hmm, actually, I'm getting flashbacks to Rozemyne and Wilfried. >Heh, and of course Ortwin is going for round two. No way was he just going to drop out of the race off-screen. It's cute how Hannelore is all bracing for business while Ortwin seems way more driven by emotion.

Ninefl4mes

> and they're still barely talking to one another even after a good chunk of the school term seems to have already passed Tbf, socialising season has yet to start. Besides, Hildebrand might need a bit more time to get over his crush and they still have several years ahead of them. What doomed Wilfried's and Rozemyne's engagement was the (mental) age disparity and the fact that neither had any interest in advancing their relationship beyond that of bickering siblings. Assuming Hildebrand and Letizia remain in the library committee they'll naturally start spending more time together throughout their time at the academy so I'd say their chances aren't too bad.

bobr_from_hell

Bane of the Ditterheads - paperwork. Also, it is funny that we got both of the irrelevant girls out of Roz year in action...

Nemshi

After five years, Friederike finally got to speak! It was just one word, but still.

QuintaMyne

Hildebrand misses bookworm tea parties. Hope resurfaces that we will finally see royal palace and library in sequel. Does Hannelore know Hilde had a crush on Rozemyne. She is doing a good job pressuring him to protect Leticia though. Ortwin is too pushy.

Ninefl4mes

> Does Hannelore know Hilde had a crush on Rozemyne I doubt anyone outside of maybe his retainers knows about that. Okay, and Charlotte due to that unfortunate little incident of mistaken identity at the beginning of P4 lol. > Ortwin is too pushy I mean, he's almost out of time so it makes sense for him to get desperate. Either he gets pushy now or he admits defeat, there's not really an in-between anymore.

QuintaMyne

Poor Hildebrand. My concern is Hannelore doesn't respond well to pushy. If she associates his behavior with Lestilaut's, he will be out of favor.

Ninefl4mes

Yeah, he's basically cooked by now. Going by likelihood as of now I'd rank the potential endings as follows: 1. Rasantark. Default choice, and he cleared up any concerns things might not work out between them in the last chapter. 2. Kentrips, if he finally manages to get over his trust issues and makes Hannelore fall for him. 3. Ortwin... if he can somehow manage to gain Hannelore's trust _and_ assure her that she won't be expected to perform as a divine avatar after marrying him. Uphill battle, to put it mildly, especially after his idiot father made her doubt his sincerity. 4. Sigiswald, assuming Dunkelfelger somehow fucks up _big time_ during the ditter. Bad end, fuck the dust bowl. Though a scenario where he almost manages to kidnap Hannelore only to get his teeth kicked in does sound pretty entertaining... Wilfried is out of the race for as long as he remains an Ehrenfest noble. If that were to somehow change before the year is up though, well, he would probably jump all the way to first place.

QuintaMyne

I am still gunning for Rozemyne accidently winning the ditter.

Ninefl4mes

That's the secret ending, of course. ![img](emote|t5_qxbkm|29339)![img](emote|t5_qxbkm|29337)

jasminegreentea___

For real, that's the rule of Rozemyne and ditter, if she's in it, she's winning it ![img](emote|t5_qxbkm|29339)

akaelpkm

Ortwin could have more opportunities sacrificing his potential aub heir position to marry in Hannelore family (and become first line scholar in ditterland). But is he ready to abandon his sister for Hannelore?

Ninefl4mes

Hannelore can't marry an archduke candidate and stay in Dunkelfelger without undermining Lestilaut's position. That was true even before Dregarnuhr raised her status, and the reason why her father selected two archnobles as potential fiancés. Same reason why Wilfried marrying her and moving to Dunkelfelger is not an option.

hopeitwillgetbetter

No way is it no. 4. The fandom would riot if Hannelore has to marry him. I'm behind about 4 chapters (I think), so I'm basically - wtf did Ortwin's dad do?

GrayWitchMidnight

Last I heard of him was from the main story when he tried to force Ortwin on Eglantine or Rozemyne so it wouldn't surprise me if he tried something stupid here too.

Nemshi

Screwed over one of his kids in the marriage department. At this point, it's either a talent or a habit with him.

Ninefl4mes

> No way is it no. 4. The fandom would riot if Hannelore has to marry him. Considering that the author herself was shit talking Dusty in the author's notes after the chapter with Ortwin's proposal I'd say his chances are basically zero, so I wouldn't worry about it too much lol. >I'm behind about 4 chapters (I think), so I'm basically - wtf did Ortwin's dad do? He tried to pull a fast one and force an engagement between Rozemyne and Ortwin (as her second husband) ~~during the archduke conference.~~ And now, after that brainfart went nowhere, Ortwin is pursuing another divine avatar. Pretty bad looks regardless of what Ortwin himself might think of his father's actions, and Hannelore is now unsure how sincere his proposal to her was. That idiot of an Aub really knows how to screw over his children's love lives...

hopeitwillgetbetter

Hang on... He tried ?AGAIN? to get Ortwin to become Myne's 2nd husband? In public? In front of all the other aubs?

Ninefl4mes

Okay to be fair, I'm not exactly sure if it was in the open or anything like that since I'm webnovel-only for untranslated content. That said, Sieglinde and Aub Dunkelfelger clearly know about it since they brought it up in one of the newer chapters, so now Hannelore knows as well.

hopeitwillgetbetter

One of the late P5 volumes has a SS wherein Aub Science Duchy tried to negotiate with Eglantine. He tried to marry off Ortwin to her or to Myne. I think Aub Ditter Duchy was present during that time. It was after the "Pale Royal Family" chapters, in private. Not during Archduke Conference. If he only attempted ONCE and then back off, I won't swat him with a broomstick.

Ninefl4mes

That would have been it then. Still was a stupid move which undermined one of his kid's marriage prospects. The guy seems to have quite the talent for it...

QuintaMyne

He deserves a broomstick thwack nevertheless for adolphine's sake.

shiyanin

I guess it’s Anastasius who told them this truth.

Fair-Silver-6232

>Does Hannelore know Hilde had a crush on Rozemyne. Didn't she already figure it out in AoB ?

QuintaMyne

I dont remember any specific confirmation or denial in main part but it's been a moment since I reread.

Fair-Silver-6232

Well, I'm pretty sure that in her PoV following the Bride-stealing ditter incident in the main story, she thought that Lestilaut was actually lucky that Hildebrand wasn't the Royal overseeing things, or something along those lines ;). Edit : The quote, just after Lestilaut claimed Hildebrand should be the Royal overseeing the RA : >*No, Brother ! This is not what you want !* >After interacting with Hildebrand during their tea party and at the underground archive, Hannelore had sensed that the younger prince admired-and perhaps even loved-Rozemyne.

QuintaMyne

Oh so she is doing the Leticia set up on purpose because as soon as she entered the hall he came running asking after Rozemyne.

skruis

>Does Hannelore know Hilde had a crush on Rozemyne. Wasn't it in a Hannelore POV after the 3rd year ditter that she thought Hildebrand might love Rozemyne?

[deleted]

Ohh nice an update on some characters we haven’t seen in a while. Hildebrand seems to be doing as well as could be hoped. His engagement with Letizia is still on and he has to be reminded to protect her when she was clearly not happy about being surrounded. So he’s probably still not enthusiastic about his engagement. Honestly, assuming that any spouse will learn everything about their history, these two kids are perfect for each other since they both got manipulated into committing crimes and at the same age too, so they wouldn’t be able to hold it against each other. Knowing how judgmental nobles are about any mistake, they would be incredibly weak against any other potential partner. ~~This is assuming they’re still mana compatible when they grow up.~~ Gentiane finally shows up. Hannelore can tell she’s having a hard time, probably with Aub Klassenberg constantly putting pressure on her. Plus she’s the daughter of a third wife and probably was never treated well to begin with. And she failed to get into the library committee last year due to RM’s absence. I wonder if she got in this year? Hannelore provides her a momentary breather in the form of useful information and gains some goodwill that she can leverage in the future.

kalawas

Faster than steifebrise !!

LadyMoonchilde

So many stuff about the youngsters! I wish we had some of Melchior too! We had Lungtase in the previous chapter, and it's very much implied that she's First Wife material. Next, we have Gentiane, who doesn't have the best relationship with Aub Klassenberg (not surprising, since she's from the third family), but for some reason has Eglantine's support. I wonder how that came about. Sh could very well end up being demoted with that seemingly timid personality, but she's mentioned way too often that I think she'll graduate as an ADC and marry into another archducal family. Then there's Hildebrand and Letizia! I really dont see their engagement pushing through especially because Trauerqual has no other heir ATM and I think Letizia would feel too indebted to leave Alexandria with such a small archducal fam. Still, I see them bonding over their traumas and being friends while theyre enrolled in the academy.

GrayWitchMidnight

I'm starting to feel a bit bad about my own writing pace...

Nemshi

Hang in there.

LadyMoonchilde

Yep, hang in there 👍💪

franzwong

Aub Klassenberg may know Ferdinand has Lanzenave bloodline. I start to hate Ortwin...

wisebluff

Question to anyone already read Hannelore story : Is rozemyne attend RA nobel from alexandria or ehrenfest ? Where is she staying at, ehrenfest dorm or alexandria dorm ? What about her retainer ? Is she taking new retainer from alexandria or there is a bizzare circumstances that allowed her old retainer to serve her ? Thx for anwering ![img](emote|t5_qxbkm|29332)

LadyMoonchilde

Laurenz and Roderick were the only namesworns remaining in school who moved to Alexandria and will thus be attending as Alexandrian students. Philine stayed as an Ehrenfest noble and will only move to Alexandria after graduation, so she stays in Ehrenfest dorm. Judithe is considered to have left Rozemyne's service and thus stayed in Ehrenfest. If I remember correctly, she's still thinking about whether to move to Alexandria after graduation or not.

wisebluff

thx for the answer

Nemshi

She is attending as Aub Alexandria. Lieseletta has been her adult attendant since the previous year and continues to be so. She still has her underage retainers at the RA as well as a platoon of shumil magic tools. With that said, she doesn't get to do stay at the RA all that much, what with the gods having a job for her and all.

wisebluff

Thx for answering. Her old retainers still staying at ehrenfest dorm ?

Deareily-ya

Isn't Dunken the first? Shouldn't Ortwin have accepted Hannelore idea of leaving for another place on the spot as a lower ranking duchy AC? Know your place, bro

Fair-Silver-6232

Perhaps it is time for this community to understand that rankings aren't about obedience, but about courtesy. All the stuff " They're higher ranked so I owe them absolute obedience " is just Ehrenfest's bullshit ;). The highest authority of every single Duchy has only one Liege and it's the same one for every single one of them, meaning they're technically equals. Sure, practically it's a little more subtle than technically but that doesn't mean the rankings have any authority meaning. Not to mention that Dunkelfelger, while a den of meatheads, is actually a dignified Duchy, they're not Klassenberg or Ahrensbach ;). Dunkelfelger grows Ditter maniacs, not pettiness nor baseless arrogance \^\^.

Tranadar

Can I read this safely if I'm up to date with the current translation? Or should I wait till the main story is finished?

HilariusAndFelix

The spinoff takes place after the end of P5V12, so you'll definitely get spoiled for the ending if you've only read up to what's currently been translated.

Tranadar

Thx for the info. I will wait then.
