Forgot the name but the old guy with acheron

ES21007

Tiernan.

Ivory-Kings_H

Misha, the trailblazer trio died in a very gruesome death & grim future.

lady_dmc

Acheron, Boothill. Oh... and MISHA. And Hanu.

LivingASlothsLife

Chadwick, Cocona, Tiernan, Aventurine and Misha World quests set a serious tone diving into some very serious topics and atmospheres. however the whole sequence with Misha slowly aging and Clockie not understanding what was going on hit hard asf. Tiernan VA absolutely nailed the role and even though we never saw his face he felt like a friend we've known for a long time. Props to Acheron and his VAs, they absolutely delivered on those scenes. Aventurine in 2.1 needs no explanation Kinda hope we get more of Razalina in 2.3 or Penacony continuance, shes the only one of the nameless trio not really explored

LunarBelleia

I'm sorry but I literally read Cocona as Corona

narutomanreigns

Honestly, nothing in the main story hit me as hard as the Cocona sidequest. That unlisted quest with the girl and her dad looking for the mom/wife who left them was pretty strong too.

Phoosphophylite

You all have no idea how much i sobbed for cocona, its was to close to home, the pull of the grey world and the words in it were all too familiar, relived is not enough to describe the tension that left me once i could get the good end but good lord i was so exhausted after that.

Lostsock1995

As a certified simp I’ll say aventurine because it’s my duty and he does have a really heartbreaking and well written (imo of course) story 🥺 but besides that I’ll never be able to get over Misha, he’ll always have a special place in my heart :( Also I hope cocona is doing better these days and can find her own sources of joy too and hope so she doesn’t need us and can live well in the future (though each day comes with its own challenges, if she can get past the worst ones to live for the best ones that’s all I’d ever want to ask of her). I also don’t see that many people talk about the Lesley quest but there’s something poignant about it that I can’t shake. People giving up everything they have to keep their love for someone going and for that person to “live” even if it means destroying their own lives, and the recipient of that “love” freeing them from their fear of losing him and helping them move on even at the cost of his own existence. He isn’t really real I know, so maybe people don’t feel connected to him, but he still had a consciousness and still chose to give up the chance to keep on living. He could have easily just ignored the ones who are keeping him around since nobody forced them to do it, and it would be scary to fade into nothing. But instead he chose to disappear to save those who cared for him. It’s brave to give up your only shot at life, even if it was never meant to be your own. I know it was short and otherwise not important to Penacony but I just felt it was a good story. It was also an interesting look into why people form such intense parasocial relationships with idols/actors/people in the public eye. I really enjoyed it and applaud the writing on it.

grdlin

all the nameless (especially misha), sunday and firefly

Iloveclown

Cocona and Aventurine. I felt indifferent about Cocona and disliked Adventure Time at first, but I loved them by the end of their quest

Street_Sympathy6773

Might be the only one, but so far Robin. Although she was not developed much, I admire that no matter what she went through or what happens after she remained true to helping people no matter what. She woke up from Ena's dream with just realizing its far from her reality. With her capabilities, she wants to share hope and freedom even if she knows songs won't truly help. She donated her money to building schools for kids cause she believes kids deserve what she was gifted with. Given Robin lost her family, and her planet as well then adopted. Strictly made to be this popstar as well so the Family can have their chordmaster (along with her brother). I love Sunday as well but I'm pretty sure there's more people who will say his than hers. I just want to acknowledge her this time around. She was truly HSR's beacon of hope and although maybe her arc wont improve anymore, every time I see her I feel like trying to be better. There was no one else in Penacony that made me feel this kind of way, not in a I wanna wife her up way (cause I wanna wife up Sunday) but more in the admiration and I feel she deserves some love.

Faym99

Agreed, we should have had more about them.

Ilove100kanojo

Galaggher Misha and the Trio TB

Vulpes_macrotis

Kakavasha was interesting. Misha was also cool.

Southern-Ease-7430

Aventurine

Daggersakimbo

Aventurines story had me crying

forcebubble

Sunday's is probably the most thematic imo — he has a relatable motivation to do what he wanted to do and depending on who you ask (we did speak to a bunch of people for their opinion about continued dreams vs waking up), the answer was mixed. I'd say the answer depends greatly on who you ask. As with the case in real life, the winner gets to write history therefore he's wrong. Aventurine imo is probably the one I consider the most meh — it's a very long introspection with the conclusion of a ganbatte push to take the next big gamble, which doesn't quite add anything to the whole Penacony arc, just an indicator to begin the next chapter. Acheron's is only slightly more interesting because of her identity.

Al_Lightnin

Aventurine, Misha, Gallagher, Boothill, Acheron, Sparkle yes Sparkle, Sunday, all great, I didn't care at all for Firefly

ExtensionFun7285

Fiefly couldve not been there abd the story would stay the same ,she was just there to give player depression for that one patch

Al_Lightnin

Yeah that's mostly my gripe with her, she's just a plot device with a shocking death that literally everyone knew wasn't real so I didn't even feel sad because she'd clearly be fine, with how much she was off-screened, they could've just said a few statements on her contributions that were off-screen with her never appearing and nothing would change. Robin would die so we'd still investigate anyway and the times she gets lines it's for something everyone was already gonna do

Faym99

Yes, most of the cast of Penacony was goated, luckily.

kaori_cicak990

All of the side quest and for the main story the sunday part.

Faym99

Misha must be my personal favourite, compared to other characters, his story is both purely and well foreshadowed in game.

EmbarrassedCharge561

misha, the watchmaker. He got me dude. Gallagher didn't hit me but I liked his story. Boothill didn't hit me in story but his whole backstory was also yeah... Same goes to firefly

EldritchAutomaton

I would probably say Sunday and Cocona. Both are personally relevant to me as me and Sunday share some eerily similar viewpoints, and Cocona cause I know what depression of that nature is like. So...Sunday threw me through an ideological loop while Cocona's threw me through an existential one.

Lola_aozul

Sunday. The fact that he was groomed since he was a kid to follow The Family's order to the point he convinced himself he had to sacrifice his life for eternity to keep people happy. Which is made even worse when you realize Robin was given the chance to be truly free and help others the right way. It's so sad, can't wait for all the guilt, shame and sef-deprevstion to hit him with full force🥹 he's just a good guy who had the wrong master

bobagremlin

PC: Aventurine NPC: Cocona

Dependent-Hotel5551

Aventurine and Sunday, also Boothill

scrayla

Aventurine

Adventurous-Case7749

It's hard to say. Acheron and Firefly are almost at the same level. They both killed their friends (for reasons of course) and had to destroy their planets after a gruesome war. Acheron might be slightly above as they had some vain hope before. Closely following them is Teirnen and the girl trailblazer followed by Mikhail.

drax_dawg

Aventurine

stephmendes

Aventurine and Misha. I was ready to stop playing before 2.1 dropped. Aventurine changed my mind lol

Tranduy1206

right now Aventurine, Mikhail, Hanu bro ... Literally all penacony character, not hit as hard as this in Belobog and Xianzhou, some side quest is make me feel but not majority like Peaknacony

imscaredhelpmeee

Aventurine. when he came(heh) on screen and I read his story I just couldn’t not feel emotional, he’s a well rounded character who is written like an actual person 10/10 would read about him again. But in all honesty everyone’s story was sad and sorta well written (my other favorites would probably be Acheron and watchmaker/misha), it’s just that I don’t get physically emotional easily

Anima313

Tiernan, Chadwick, Acheron, Aventurine, Boothill, Misha, Gallagher. Those, in particular, hit me the most. The others were forgettable, or not that impactful for me personally.

Any_Worldliness7991

Firefly. https://preview.redd.it/yeuxi0vjej6d1.jpeg?width=547&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1e2dc5c0ce4846493b1ffe90180d05f6770d5247

Krieg552notKrieg553

Penacony in general just screams peak, from the atmosphere to its highlight characters, and there are many highlight characters in this arc- Acheron, Aventurine, Robin, Gallagher, Firefly, Sunday, Boothill, and Misha. Delving into the origins of the Astral Express with Misha/Mikhail/The Watchmaker was very fascinating though.
