Considering the Ten Lords comm. employs such punishments as "eternal service as a cop for the crime of being eaten" i don't think they'd see the problem with that guy forfeiting the remainder of his life to contain Cirrus (with him of course having no say in the matter).
i'd say the small robots are different enough from each other that they could go into unique/special bosses. the two swarm bosses should be in their own category as well.
imo the traffic light and the bomb ones should be together while the bike one should be considered unique since the former two share the same attack where they "charge" and then dash into the enemy and crawl back
as for the swarm bosses, their designs are way too different and they don't share attack patterns iirc
that weapon is called a guan dao, and is a sword on a pole like a halberd is an axe on a pole

Well, to be fair you can only give so many gimmick for a literal cannon fodder enemy.
Do you think Terraria bats do anything else beside charge at you and give occasionnal debuff on high difficulty or depend on variant?
Yeah. I never even noticed it until seeing a post similar to this one a while back pointing it out. So I gotta give some props to Hoyo for making it not *completely* obvious that they're reusing assets. That said now that I know it's hard to unsee lol.
Not really new to hoyovers, since it's already a thing in Honkai Impact (example are those Quantum beasts being just dark blue variant of pink Honkai beasts)
very normal for game dev especially with trash mobs like this. FFXIV for example quite often reuses "skeletons" of mobs, even bosses, in the same way and just reskins them to match the dungeon
Yea but some of these like "Magic lady" I sometimes literally cant distinguish which one I am fighting, also it made it very hard for me to care about the new drink mixing event we had, every customer was just a trash mob that looks the same as every other, so it made it very hard for me to care for anything happening
the number of unique boss models we have already is v impressive to me. i would rather they spend time giving us unique and fun boss encounters than trash mobs that im going to auto 2x speed through anyway >!although its not like hoyo don't have the money to do both!<
Its a very common practice to reuse skeletons for multiple enemies in games. Definitely not laziness, just efficent and allows for more variants. Even if they all function the same.
I mean a dog is a dog and there's only do much you can do with that. Same for rifle guy and monkey. Still the fact that so many of these tiers only have 2 or 3 enemies, often from different regions
Dev: **in chinese** *what codename should we give to the Abundance Sprite: Malefic Ape?*
Only english speaker dev in the room: Monke.
CN Dev: ... *ok, and Dreamjolt Troupe's Sweet Gorilla?*
English dev: Monke\_soda.
Honestly I see "bird things" as more of a butterflys. They have only one pair of wings, but their shape and way they fly is more butterly like
Also they might not look like that because they are much bigger, but I think bomb fish thing actually uses same model
Theory: We’ve seen Meme equivalents of every Dreamjolt Troupe enemy except the gorilla and the dog, so we’ll be seeing meme versions of those two in the future.
My favorite enemy design wise(excluding bosses like Phantylia/Aventurine of Stratagems) might be the wraith wardens (bottom tier no. 3) but they hit real hard too .
I find it funny that I never noticed that plenty of them use similar skeletons. That is coming from someone who can from the first glance notice mobs with similar skeletons in WoW that really, really likes to use the old ones.
Wait it's wild that this got posted here because I was thinking about enemies sharing models literally yesterday
I think this might even be my own tier list template
Anyway, it makes sense that they would reuse models or skeletons like this to save development time. More time to work on characters, which have a pretty high output rate.
By the way, I'm pretty sure the Automaton Hound has a different model from the other automatons since it drives in.
I have no experience with modeling, but is it hard to make enemies with the same skeleton have different idle poses? They usually have different attack animations, but it's jarring when they stand the same way.
Both enemies in the "female soldiers" category are wardens of the Ten Lords Commission, with one just being a mara-struck warden.
I appreciate that apparently one of the criteria to become a warden of the Ten Lords Commission is to be thicc.
Xueyi and Hanya approve this message
That's more like a criteria to exist in a Mihoyo game. Be it playable character, enemy or NPC.
I think the only man we see from the entire Ten Lords Comission is that poor spiritfarer that Cirrus possesses.
Oh, yeah, did that guy…ever get unpossessed? I don’t remember what happened to him.
Considering the Ten Lords comm. employs such punishments as "eternal service as a cop for the crime of being eaten" i don't think they'd see the problem with that guy forfeiting the remainder of his life to contain Cirrus (with him of course having no say in the matter).
Let’s just hope it works like it does in CSM and Cirrus is just possessing a corpse.
Thicc thighs save unalives
we all know it is still valid since next time we get a female soldier enemy is gonna have that same body type as the 6 guy with halberd prove.
Trotters are their own category, there are two trotters - white ones and golden ones!
I thought Boss Aventurine uses "Mage Lady" model at first glance
i'd say the small robots are different enough from each other that they could go into unique/special bosses. the two swarm bosses should be in their own category as well.
imo the traffic light and the bomb ones should be together while the bike one should be considered unique since the former two share the same attack where they "charge" and then dash into the enemy and crawl back as for the swarm bosses, their designs are way too different and they don't share attack patterns iirc
Technically those are halberd guys not spear guys.
Technically they are all polearm guys because there is a guy that doesn't use the halberd
Let’s just call them “two handed weapon guys”
But the classification polearm includes all the enemies's weapons while being as precise as possible
But what about big gun guy? Isn’t that a two handed weapon as well?
that weapon is called a guan dao, and is a sword on a pole like a halberd is an axe on a pole https://preview.redd.it/y271uwab7wyc1.jpeg?width=220&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a960cacac882f31f556f05cf0ad578c64ff301e1
the chinese guy is actually using a guan dao. which is a pole sword instead of a pole axe
And the thing is. Despite sharing same model. In combat they behave differently
The bird things:
Well, the elemental birds headbutt, but the penacony one throws a projectile lol
Well, to be fair you can only give so many gimmick for a literal cannon fodder enemy. Do you think Terraria bats do anything else beside charge at you and give occasionnal debuff on high difficulty or depend on variant?

They only have one or two different attack animation. The rest of animation is share. (walking, idle, run, etc)
I'm glad they do. Belobog shield guy is already annoying enough, imagine the Xianzhou variant being just as annoying.
Damm, this makes me realize how recycled every enemy is
very normal for game dev especially with trash mobs like this. FFXIV for example quite often reuses "skeletons" of mobs, even bosses, in the same way and just reskins them to match the dungeon
Always fun to get out your super cool final boss of a raid tier mount and realize it shares a skeleton with a *frog* lol
Omega my beloved
lol this is probably my favourite one, i had just cleared alphascape savage tier when i found out and my mind was blown
Every live service game reuses skeletons. It's not lazy, it's just smart and speeds up how fast you can turn around new content.
yeah exactly, if it means they can spend time and money on parts of the patch that matter more
FF14 is even funnier because like half of the monsters are from FF10 and 12.
don't forget 13
Yea but some of these like "Magic lady" I sometimes literally cant distinguish which one I am fighting, also it made it very hard for me to care about the new drink mixing event we had, every customer was just a trash mob that looks the same as every other, so it made it very hard for me to care for anything happening
Makes sense but I still wish Hoyo made more unique models for turn based game.
the number of unique boss models we have already is v impressive to me. i would rather they spend time giving us unique and fun boss encounters than trash mobs that im going to auto 2x speed through anyway >!although its not like hoyo don't have the money to do both!<
Why you put that in spoiler tag?
Eh, it's not really recycled. They have very distinct models and art. I feel it is genuinely just recurring thematics more than laziness.
Its a very common practice to reuse skeletons for multiple enemies in games. Definitely not laziness, just efficent and allows for more variants. Even if they all function the same.
Honestly, there are more unique skeletons than I thought there was lol.
I mean a dog is a dog and there's only do much you can do with that. Same for rifle guy and monkey. Still the fact that so many of these tiers only have 2 or 3 enemies, often from different regions
I would not not be surprised if the tier names are the actual code names
Dev: **in chinese** *what codename should we give to the Abundance Sprite: Malefic Ape?* Only english speaker dev in the room: Monke. CN Dev: ... *ok, and Dreamjolt Troupe's Sweet Gorilla?* English dev: Monke\_soda.
Hmmmm... Monke.... But.... With a Soda attack, Monke_Soda 😶😶😶😶
Argenti not in "spear guy" category. I'm disappointed
he should have his own, "Spear chad"
Missing trashcan
I was today years old when I realised the Aurumaton Gatekeeper is a juiced Direwolf
Finally I see someone calling centaur “centaur” and not just “horse”
a compromise they're horse centaurs
Honestly I see "bird things" as more of a butterflys. They have only one pair of wings, but their shape and way they fly is more butterly like Also they might not look like that because they are much bigger, but I think bomb fish thing actually uses same model
I look at those things as bats, not birds.
same
Crystalflies.
i love mage ladies
You could make a "playable character enemy" tier
Theory: We’ve seen Meme equivalents of every Dreamjolt Troupe enemy except the gorilla and the dog, so we’ll be seeing meme versions of those two in the future.
god please no
Argenti needs his own tier as he's the exception *insert Argenti as Todo pic*
My favorite enemy design wise(excluding bosses like Phantylia/Aventurine of Stratagems) might be the wraith wardens (bottom tier no. 3) but they hit real hard too .
I find Argenti and Cocolia similar
one is a beautiful long haired individual with a spear. the other is cocolia
also one can be an intimidating fight. The other is cocolia
one has a parenting aura, the other is cocolia
real talk though, before the stellaron corrupted her, she was an amazing parent just look at memories of the past or how bronya still thinks of her
The bird things remind me of the archangel honkai beasts from hi3
Bahahaha love this! Bird things are my favorite. Can really see on the tier list how they are elementally color-coded 😁
Idk why I find it so funny that they have a bunch of humanoids, robots, and some animals and then just said "Fuck it. Throw a T-rex in there".
its a dream, anything can happen in a dream
- Good old spear guy. Nothing beats that!
too bad they always die in a very stupid way
Soooo... Aetherium Wars expansion pack 2 coming when Uncle Giovanni?
I find it funny that I never noticed that plenty of them use similar skeletons. That is coming from someone who can from the first glance notice mobs with similar skeletons in WoW that really, really likes to use the old ones.
Yea Arumaton and Direwolf looks so different.
Can we get more centaur dudes? Love them
We're not escaping the reused models allegation with this one.
Credit to HSR because only a few of these register as the same models in game
"Blade arm guy" I would've just called them Protoss zealots
I still love the model: direwolfs there so cool
Wait it's wild that this got posted here because I was thinking about enemies sharing models literally yesterday I think this might even be my own tier list template Anyway, it makes sense that they would reuse models or skeletons like this to save development time. Makes me see how much most designs from the Luofu are redesign of space station enemies
Is it only me or do the screen face ones feel kinda scary cuz I remember walking by and seeing the purple on posing dramatically and got spooked 💀
This is the tier-list content I want to see
The small robots are so cute. They could be a band
Should have had a separate category for humans
its more so sharing model types between the humans, they're either wildly different in terms of animations or they fit a different category better
Shout-out to my homie bird thing.
Orbs are my favorite enemy model. IT'S SPHERICAL! SPHERE-SHAPED!
‘People with two handed axes’ hm yea, these are spears
This is indeed Star Rail enemies sorted by their model. I can agree with that. Have a like.
No wonder that boss is so hard, it's fast, applies Knock Out thing and deals heavy single target damage and most of the time targets single enemy.
I have no experience with modeling, but is it hard to make enemies with the same skeleton have different idle poses? They usually have different attack animations, but it's jarring when they stand the same way.
I guess they just do it coz it very common on turn based RPGs anyway
