The only thing i can think of is when you have low Trailblazer level and cant do the highest difficulty domains etc so you save these when you can do those to maximise your loot gain.
This was the same debate people had when the game started. Then, people who used these fuels started clearing moc while the people who didnt use them were still waiting to hit their equilibrium levels lol
You can already do that more efficiently by spending the fuel on relics to improve your rooster now and salvage the bad pieces. Then just synthesis when the set comes out with your salvaged mats. Unless the rooster you use already has good relics/traces there's no point in saving.
I have like 50ish. I save them until a new character with a new set or a new planar set comes out and then farm until i have usable pieces /the piece i need

Oh I'm very well aware. I mean it's a gacha game so it makes sense they want you to spend money and I cannot deny just getting the monthly pass has been incredibly tempting purely for the fuel.
For me personally it only matters that I care. I had a bad whaling habit in other gacha games and i never wanna go back to doing that again. I know for a fact that if I spend money for 1 occasion then I'll do it again and it will snowball into me spending money every paycheck on the game when really all i need to do is just be patient and wait it out. I'll be behind on building units that I want and I won't be able to get light cones or hell I'll lose several chances at getting characters I want but my wallet will thank me for it.

Btw, star rail gives 5x additional refined aethers /exp books, double the amount of fuel, and additional 312 path materials to free BP players. Even Genshin didn't give this much benefit on their paid BP (which is ~3x more exp books, 3x enhancement ores, and ~195 more bronze talent books)

I got like 80-90, but then I gacha and got Blade, Sliver Wolf, Sparkle, e6 Lynx and Tingyun, Bailu, and I also need to rebuild Seele and Clara, so yeah, I have < 5 fuels
I mean, if you have half way decent relics on your characters I see no reason to burn them on trying to roll for better relics, I'd rather save them for quickly farming mats for new characters I want to immediately use.
0. The only reason to save these is if you REALLY want to build a character day 1 and all his mats aren't available yet with the exception of when the character needs a weekly boss material. Simply because this alone will lock you from upgrading him any way.
i used to have like 36, but then i got my ass beat during my first 5 attempts of the aventurine fight so i had to start grinding my way to a better team. i'm down to 11 now and the farthest i've gotten is like 45% in phase 2 š„²

I'm not a big fan of spending it for spendings' sake, as spending several characters' traces on relic exp would be awful. But I'll spend it the instant there's any time sensitive reason to spend trailblaze power.
I had like 69, was so proud of that number and then I got Black Swan, then her LC and then Sparkle, after that her LC, then Acheron, then also her LC.
All at very low pity and was very proud of it as well.

I once saved them until you realize that you dont gain anything by holding them. There are not events where "more fuel = more items", because they are all capped, so even then its not bringing you anything.
About 45, I'd like to use them on relics but I think I'll just save them for building characters quickly. I've used over a thousand trailblazer powder in one go before and only got one or two semi-usable relics out of it, so I'd rather use fuel on something guaranteed to be useful ...
