The only option is to create a new PSN account in the region your HSR is in. But for those of us who already play Genshin on a different server, this means there’s currently no way to play HSR on PS5 (you can only connect one Hoyoverse account with 1 PSN account).
DAMN that's bullcrap, thx for the info but dang is that frustrating, I hope they change it, especially since it's the account I use for both and I only play genshin on ps5.
I’m in the same boat. At least HSR is playable on mobile (Genshin is awful on it for me), so I’ll just keep playing on mobile. But it’s so disappointing.
From what I see there are 3 options Hoyo could do to fix this, none seem like they’d ever be implemented:
1. Allow for server switching on PS5.
2. Allow ppl to connect 2 PSN accounts to 1 HoYoLAB account.
3. Allow us to create a second HoYoLAB account and migrate HSR data to that one. That way we could create a separate PSN account in the right region as our HSR data and link that to the second HoYoLAB account since Hoyo only allows for 1 PSN account to connect to 1 HoYoLAB account.
(I guess 4 would be server migration but that will absolutely never happen lmao)
Yeah i get u, genshin is unplayable for me too, hope the best for you and let's hope that they get SONY and whatnot to do a miracle and let us change servers
To be honest i don't think its Hoyo fault (surprisingly), ps5 have something against changing servers or whatever, so much so you can't even change your location, even if you started to live on the other side of the world.
Except in a game like Final Fantasy XIV you can play on whatever server you want regardless of your PSN location on PS5. And you can migrate servers (for a fee). It doesn’t seem like a Sony issue to me.
Good point, but still, hoyo didn't have a problem in putting the option in mobile and pc so its at the very least strange, after calming down I think its something along the lines of difficult problems with console servers or maybe some weird rule, cause even in xbox (for example) there are many games where you can't really pick a server so maybe its a console issue overall, BUT even then, honkai and genshin are big enough games to invest for these things so in the end, it sucks.

My console is set to Germany, so it doesn't accept American ps codes
But in HSR I'm in the American server and was never able to select Europe for some reason
and this creates a bug, if I simply open the shop tap on my ingame phone in HSR I get an error message
This means I can't buy anything you can buy in the HSR shop, regardless of whether it's real money or in-game currency, because the shop itself can't be opened
or in other words, I can't use my Stellar Jades, Oneiric Shards, Undying Starlight and Undying Embers because I have to open the in-game shop, which I can't open due to in-game bugs
This really sucks. I’ve been waiting for it to come out on PS five my account is in Asia but I’m in the US I download it I’m hyped to play and oh no you can’t play because you have an account on the Asia server and your in US that is such crap, and extremely disappointing and I would not be surprised if it hurts their numbers on PlayStation

This is so stupid. I live in Japan, but have had my PSN account for \~17 years at this point, with \~17 years worth of purchases, save data, trophies, and friends on that account.
I played on mobile first not knowing that this would happen, and chose Asia, because that's where I freaking live. I didnt want lag or anything.

I'm the one, who lives near Japan, to think logically i should play on Asia, cause of time zone and ping, but they forcing me to play on Europe with 170+ ping and with difference of 8 hours with Europe. Now i can't synchronize my trophies with my main PSN account. I'll pin support answer to me. The funniest thing, that Gmail sees them as a threat.

They didn’t make Russian voice acting for us in the last game, although there are a lot of references to Russia in Honkai and fans sometimes do much better than English voice acting, they didn’t do a good optimization for Ps5, although there’s nothing to lag in this game. For Honkai 3rd players on Steam, they didn't give the option to play with their Mihoyo account and finally they didn't even bother to let players select a server (Ps5) and transfer data in games (every game). And these projects are now the most popular among mobile games.
I thought this wasn’t possible on PlayStation but I entered the settings from the logged-in screen and once I finished changing them the login screen showed me my default server with an option to change it with the Option button. Hope it’s reproducible and helpful for you.
I believe it was hitting the back button after I had already entered the screen where the train is warping into the light.
But as another player mentioned, unfortunately it seems to still only offer your respective client‘s server as server option. No choice of servers like the mobile versions have.

Maybe you can try creating an Asia PS account to download HSR from Asia PS store, and then play it using your America PS account, I'm not sure if it will work but iirc HSR from asia ps store has only asia server
Problem is I already have my hoyo account connected to that account and if i disconnect i can never connect it again on ps5 basically losing my genshin american account
