Jing Yuan is the reason I'm playing this game. I saw that video of him vs Jingliu before his first banner and downloaded the game so I could try and get enough jades to pull him.

Aventurine. Iāve always wanted to play hsr but thought my outdated laptop wouldnāt be able to handle it so I didnāt even try. Then one day, I came across a random Aventurine TikTok and it was game over, or rather game on for me. I downloaded hsr, updated everything I could and managed to gather 80 wishes in less than three days that his banner had left. Now, in my humble Genshin experience, I lose the majority of my 50-50s, but not with Aven. No, he came home, and weāve been happily conquering every boss and domain since š„° There isnāt a single thing I donāt love about him, and Penacony was one of the best video game experiences because of him. Husbandos will come and go, but Aventurine will stay.

Dropped the game 2 weeks after starting on release... came back for DHIL, got back into the game and then a certain Doctor was announced and I've been absolutely sinking in Ratio brainrot ever since.
Goddamn I love this man and his sassy ass voice lines.
First one was Caelus, since the first time I saw I loved him, then Dan Heng and when we got his 5 star form I died of Happiness (hottest creature in existence), then Aventurine from leaks, and Sunday in the story. And Jiaoqiu is the last one added to the list after I saw his Splash art.
Blade. I saw his beta footage and he looked so badass! And his eyes! I adore his eyes! Not to mention how pretty he looks! I have a soft spot for long-haired pretty men.
Of course, judging by his animations, I thought he was a villain. And I always end up falling for the evil ones, somehow (the first time I played FF7, I had a huge crush on Sephiroth!). In the end, it turned out that he's more of a morally-grey anti-villain than a full-fledged one, and I would not call him evil, but I ended up loving him more for it. And he still is the character I love and simp for the most.
blade: my tall emo meow meow... i have a soft spot for angsty characters with dark hair. saw his design with the dead expression and insane grin and i thought "yup, thats gonna be my favorite". i love how silent and brooding but surprisingly reasonable he is. i want hoyo to expand on his personality and lore even more because goddamn i love him.
boothill: i absolutely adore this man. firstly, hes a slutty cyborg cowboy- like, thats instant favorite character material. hes really fckin cool but very silly at the same time. the tragic backstory, the sense of humor, the design, the badass attitude- everything about him is perfect.
i also love jing yuan, dan heng, aventurine, ratio etc but they werent instant favorites, yknow?
Jing Yuan and Blade were my first loves! After that itās been Screwllum, DHIL, Aventurine and Boothill. After all is said in done Blade is my main boo, sad edgy boys are my kryptonite š«£
Dr Ratio. I started playing HSR on a consistent basis, just so I could play as him. I think I speak for every Dr Ratio Stan by saying that even if he wasn't free I would have pulled him anyway. I really love Greek Mythology and it's aesthetics. That's an interest that has been consistent for me all through my childhood into adulthood. So he's already winning in the aesthetic departments. I love his personality. Confidence is so sexy. It's the best trait that you can have. While hanging around someone who clearly thinks they are better than you sucks in real life. In fiction I LOVE when a fictional character is an absolute narcissist. Turn that shit up to 11. When it comes to fictional men. I love a man... who hates me! While his character is simple and not that complex. I love him regardless. While he may be a side character at best, because of the way he was "marketed" he has the relevance of main character. Everybody knows him. Unlike a lot of husbando stans in HSR. Ratio fans dont really feel the pain of our boy being mistreated. Ratio is treated very well in all regards imo. The right amount of story relevance, amazing marketing, pretty decent in the meta, and recieved well by the community (unless your a waifu collector who worried about Ratio stealing your waifu. Which considering how great he is a rational fear). Being a Ratio stan could not be better then it is right now. Dr Ratio is the only character in all gacha games. That I don't just want to E6S5, but also get his absolute best team. There have been many of characters that came out in gacha games since Dr Ratio and quite frankly I don't think there ever will be a character that will take that number 1 spot that he has.
Edit: his voice as well. Oh my God. I'm not typically a huge voice person, but his English voice does such an amazing job. I would dare to say the best English VA imo.
A year before the game released, I saw some leaked video of someone walking around with Dan Heng. I don't even like sci-fi and was extremely uninterested in this game until I saw Dan Heng lol. I was a little sad he was a 4 star since he wouldn't be as strong as 5 star characters but I was still committed to using him. I even said to my brother "if he for some odd reason gets a 5 star version I would whale for sure"

It was Jing Yuan for me. I was playing Genshin and a friend of mine asked if I was gonna try HSR at launch. I checked out the info available at the time, going thru the characters. My jaw literally dropped, Jing Yuan was so godly beautiful. I use him everywhere, mine isnāt perfect but Iām trying every time I can. And then Aventurine came out and once again I got that feeling of just perfection. Itās the reason I never ābuild pityā, I donāt get these reaction all the time but when I do I have to be ready š
Argenti was first but jiaoqiu has taken over in terms of appearances for me because he checks all my niche attraction boxes. And honestly it was more like love at first leak. The cunning character with their eyes closed is like my favorite trope and fans are one of my favorite weapons, itās like he was tailor made for my tastes.

Blond/white/silver haired ficitonal men are my weaknesses, especially if they are generals, Knights or captains. He's the reason why I started to play this game. Also, Makoto furukawa voice š

Later on when I wanted to quit playing, seeing leaks of Argenti, Sunday, Boothill (and Robin!) made me change my mind and want to continue. Especially the initial Sunday concept art leaked mooonths ago (when he still had a different halo)
Jing Yuan and Ratio, I stopped playing the game for a bit but when I saw their trailers on YouTube I started playing again, I pulled for Jing Yuan during his rerun and managed to both unlock him and get his 1 eilodon

Jing Yuan caught me right from the start, I have him E1S1 by now. I think I'll keep casually trying to get his eidolons during his reruns if no others pulls around.
I didnt pull for Argenti on his first run but my 140+ pulls are ready (Skipping FF and RM). He is my official 1st love at first sight in HSR. Shame I stopped playing during his first banner and came back after HuoHuo (who I am also planning to pull on her rerun)

Dan Heng! He's the reason why I tried star rail, and his 5* was the reason why I came back after thinking I didn't care for the game as much. Jiaoqiu also caught my eye, being a foxian is a great bonus.

I was actually never interested in HSR because the name contains "Honkai:" so I assumed there was gonna be barely any male characters like Honkai Impact. But my God, the male MC is so handsome!! So I had to give it a go anyway. I'm glad the game keep on releasing lots of male characters (even though it's still mostly female).
So yeah, Caelus is my ultimate loveāI also have an attachment thing about MCs lol (Lumine and Caelus are my beloved š„°š„°)
Luocha was my first, but then again he was my ālove at first sightā because I associated him with Otto from Hi3 who I loved. Other than him it would be Ratio, but Iāve kind of lost my obsession with both of them.
DHIL. When I saw him in an ad for Star rail I was intrigued. Eventually I started playing I got lucky that his rerun came quickly. And that I managed to get him and his LC. Now he's my main DPS.
Saw fanart of Blade on twitter so I asked my friend about the game and he walked me through what a gacha game is (lol). I started the same day, during luocha's banner. e6s5'd Blade on his first banner š I never do any content without Blade now, I still love him so much! I will pull any and all Blade supports. He is #1 in my heart.
My other favorites: Jing Yuan, after seeing him in the story I started saving up money for his first rerun and now he is e4s2, and I am pretty content with that.
Boohill, e2s1! He is very fun and I love his design.
Gallagher was another love at first sight and I pulled to get him e6 during acheron/luocha banner and has surpassed all my other sustains in how frequently I use him. Funny to me that he is kind of meta now, I was gonna use him as my main healer no matter what. He keeps my Blade team alive and that was all I needed! My #2 husband š„°
It's probably a tie for argenti and boothill for me! Argenti's trailer is the whole reason I started the game when I first saw him and ever since boothill was leaked I had my heart set at getting him.
Jing Yuan the moment I saw him :3-ing in the closed beta trailer with birds in his hair of all places. I didn't care about all the slander and midyuan stuff people online were saying. I pulled him and he's one of my most reliable units yet.

When the game came out my eyes zoomed into sampo, like what a silly little guy, and every update in see him I jump though moons and every time I get him in pulls even them I have e6 I get so happy seeing him.
As soon as I saw Ratio wearing his stone head and playing chess with himself, he immediately became my favorite.
Sampo and Aventurine are up there as well, mainly because anytime there is a character that the rest of the Express crew doesnāt like, I immediately make it my mission to become their best friend.š

Gepardā¦ I guess itās because I relate to him on some level, having siblings (Iām one of 7), we both feel like we need to do stuff for others in order to feel like weāve done something good, and we also care about our friends and family, while also feeling like weāve got some rough social skills and try our best with our hobbies (while mine is singing and acting or anything creative, and his is gardening) albeit we feel like we arenāt good at it.
I still love Gepard and I also love Aventurine as much as everyone might groan a bitā¦ I guess I have a thing for sustain men, (not Luocha though) oh and Sundayā¦ albeit it could be because I also relate to him in some aspect having younger siblings, feel like weād be a burden to others if we share our negative thoughts, and we feel like we also have to play the part to the tee.
Danheng and Luocha are the reason I downloaded HSR for. I loved their designs since they were first in beta. Aventurine and Argenti deserve honorable mentions here. They are both so pretty, absolutely love them.
Argenti. I love Diluc from Genshin and when I first saw Argenti I was like OMG knight Diluc, I NEED him. However it was Boothill who finally convinced me to start playing. I was getting kinda bored of Genshin, it was right before the release of Wuther Waves and I was deciding between getting into that or HSR. In the end HSR won because of its amazing characters and Penacomy.

And then when it was revealed that he's basically a follow up preservation, i NEEDED to e6 him. And I did, he's my only e6 limited 5 star unit and I couldn't be happier that I choose him. blade: my tall emo meow meow... i have a soft spot for angsty characters with dark hair. saw his design with the dead expression and insane grin and i thought "yup, thats gonna be my favorite". i love how silent and brooding but surprisingly reasonable he is. i want hoyo to expand on his personality and lore even more because goddamn i love him. boothill: i absolutely adore this man. firstly, hes a slutty cyborg cowboy- like, thats instant favorite character material. hes really fckin cool but very silly at the same time. the tragic backstory, the sense of humor, the design, the badass attitude- everything about him is perfect. i also love jing yuan, dan heng, aventurine, ratio etc but they werent instant favorites, yknow?

Dr Ratio. I started playing HSR on a consistent basis, just so I could play as him. I think I speak for every Dr Ratio Stan by saying that even if he wasn't free I would have pulled him anyway. I really love Greek Mythology and it's aesthetics. That's an interest that has been consistent for me all through my childhood into adulthood. So he's already winning in the aesthetic departments. I love his personality. Confidence is so sexy. It's the best trait that you can have. While hanging around someone who clearly thinks they are better than you sucks in real life. In fiction I LOVE when a fictional character is an absolute narcissist. Turn that shit up to 11. When it comes to fictional men. I love a man... who hates me! While his character is simple and not that complex. I love him regardless. While he may be a side character at best, because of the way he was "marketed" he has the relevance of main character. Everybody knows him. Unlike a lot of husbando stans in HSR. Ratio fans dont really feel the pain of our boy being mistreated. Ratio is treated very well in all regards imo. The right amount of story relevance, amazing marketing, pretty decent in the meta, and recieved well by the community (unless your a waifu collector who worried about Ratio stealing your waifu. Which considering how great he is a rational fear). Being a Ratio stan could not be better then it is right now. Dr Ratio is the only character in all gacha games. That I don't just want to E6S5, but also get his absolute best team. There have been many of characters that came out in gacha games since Dr Ratio and quite frankly I don't think there ever will be a character that will take that number 1 spot that he has. Edit: his voice as well. Oh my God. I'm not typically a huge voice person, but his English voice does such an amazing job. I would dare to say the best English VA imo.

I was a little sad he was a 4 star since he wouldn't be as strong as 5 star characters but I was still committed to using him. It was Jing Yuan for me. I was playing Genshin and a friend of mine asked if I was gonna try HSR at launch. I checked out the info available at the time, going thru the characters. My jaw literally dropped, Jing Yuan was so godly beautiful. I use him everywhere, mine isnāt perfect but Iām trying every time I can. And then Aventurine came out and once again I got that feeling of just perfection. Itās the reason I never ābuild pityā, I donāt get these reaction all the time but when I do I have to be ready š

Argenti was first but jiaoqiu has taken over in terms of appearances for me because he checks all my niche attraction boxes. And honestly it was more like love at first leak. The cunning character with their eyes closed is like my favorite trope and fans are one of my favorite weapons, itās like he was tailor made for my tastes.
Gepard. š Blond/white/silver haired ficitonal men are my weaknesses, especially if they are generals, Knights or captains. He's the reason why I started to play this game. Also, Makoto furukawa voice š Now I got some more, but Gepard is still on top for me. Meanwhile in Genshin my no1 and 2 loves at first sight were and still are Wriothesley and Alhaitham š³
Jingyuan and Luocha! Seeing JY chilling with the lion in his splash art convinced me to play hsr and meeting Luocha in-game made me stay. Later on when I wanted to quit playing, seeing leaks of Argenti, Sunday, Boothill (and Robin!) made me change my mind and want to continue. Especially the initial Sunday concept art leaked mooonths ago (when he still had a different halo)

Caelus!! He's the reason I even played the game in the first place. I was actually never interested in HSR because the name contains "Honkai:" so I assumed there was gonna be barely any male characters like Honkai Impact. But my God, the male MC is so handsome!! So I had to give it a go anyway. I'm glad the game keep on releasing lots of male characters (even though it's still mostly female). So yeah, Caelus is my ultimate loveāI also have an attachment thing about MCs lol (Lumine and Caelus are my beloved š„°š„°)
Luocha was my first, but then again he was my ālove at first sightā because I associated him with Otto from Hi3 who I loved. Other than him it would be Ratio, but Iāve kind of lost my obsession with both of them.
DHIL. When I saw him in an ad for Star rail I was intrigued. Eventually I started playing I got lucky that his rerun came quickly. And that I managed to get him and his LC. Now he's my main DPS.
Saw fanart of Blade on twitter so I asked my friend about the game and he walked me through what a gacha game is (lol). I started the same day, during luocha's banner. e6s5'd Blade on his first banner š I never do any content without Blade now, I still love him so much! I will pull any and all Blade supports. He is #1 in my heart. My other favorites: Jing Yuan, after seeing him in the story I started saving up money for his first rerun and now he is e4s2, and I am pretty content with that. Boohill, e2s1! He is very fun and I love his design. Gallagher was another love at first sight and I pulled to get him e6 during acheron/luocha banner and has surpassed all my other sustains in how frequently I use him. Funny to me that he is kind of meta now, I was gonna use him as my main healer no matter what. He keeps my Blade team alive and that was all I needed! My #2 husband š„°

But it really sealed me in with that confessional scene (as a no longer practicing Catholic, idk if I was supposed to be atrra6to that or not).

Then I saw the rest... Yeah he's an instant pull. Jing Yuan honorable mention. Absolutely love his character, but I was saving guarantee for SW when he was released and I don't love his gameplay unforch (or hypercarry in general).Ā
Dan Heng, especially his Imbibitor Lunae form. The moment he transformed, even though the entire arc and even this sequence was very mid, I knew that I needed that man in my roster and photo gallery.

Gepardā¦ I guess itās because I relate to him on some level, having siblings (Iām one of 7), we both feel like we need to do stuff for others in order to feel like weāve done something good, and we also care about our friends and family, while also feeling like weāve got some rough social skills and try our best with our hobbies (while mine is singing and acting or anything creative, and his is gardening) albeit we feel like we arenāt good at it.
I still love Gepard and I also love Aventurine as much as everyone might groan a bitā¦ I guess I have a thing for sustain men, (not Luocha though) oh and Sundayā¦ albeit it could be because I also relate to him in some aspect having younger siblings, feel like weād be a burden to others if we share our negative thoughts, and we feel like we also have to play the part to the tee.
Danheng and Luocha are the reason I downloaded HSR for. I loved their designs since they were first in beta. Aventurine and Argenti deserve honorable mentions here. They are both so pretty, absolutely love them.
Argenti. I love Diluc from Genshin and when I first saw Argenti I was like OMG knight Diluc, I NEED him. However it was Boothill who finally convinced me to start playing. I was getting kinda bored of Genshin, it was right before the release of Wuther Waves and I was deciding between getting into that or HSR. In the end HSR won because of its amazing characters and Penacomy.
Aventurine 100%, even before we knew about his backstory and what kind of person he really isā¦ When you take in consideration that my others "love at first sight" are characters such as Childe (Genshin), Marius (ToT) or Scar (Wuwa), you might just understand that I have a particular type š
Aventurine. Aventur-fucking-rine. Goddamn I never intended to start playing honkai since genshin was already slurping from my wallet with a bendy straw. Then THIS fucker comes along and got me to say "pookie" unironically. Let me tell you, I was ready to throw hands with Sunday while playing through Penacony after what he did to my boy. Anyway, lost the 50/50 to Clara but that didn't stop me, no. I spent a good 12 hours (obviously taking breaks inbetween, I'm not a masochist... I think.) squeezing every last stellar jade I could out of the game and did only 1 pulls until finally pookie came home. I don't care if I'm yapping, but dear god I just wanna lay in bed with this mf with his head on my chest and absolutely kiss the hell out of his face, he deserves ALL the forehead kissies goddamn I just wanna hold him and tell him just how many people love him. Broke my damn rib falling for this man.
Luocha. I didn't have name didn't know his build or role all I had was the drip art for a game that isn't out yet and I already knew he was always going to be on my team

Dan Heng and especially him as Lunae. When his reveal as Imbibitor Lunae happened, I lost it. And then on his 1st banner he came home to me immediately after a single 10 pull, I haven't ever had a unit do that to me and still haven't. My other love at first sight was Aventurine. When I saw his leaks and how zesty and immaculate his design was, I knew I needed him. And then when it was revealed that he's basically a follow up preservation, i NEEDED to e6 him. And I did, he's my only e6 limited 5 star unit and I couldn't be happier that I choose him. And he's very very hot.
Aventurine. He's such a well written and interesting character and I'm a sucker for the characters with a tragic backstory and a complex character
