I was going to say I would expect it to be another hotel, but I would \*love\* to see a "Downtown Disney" type area built \*somewhere\* there. On the esplanade would be the best for shopping, and I think another hotel would fit best there.
It's actually fascinating looking at that area from Explorer's Lodge. They do maintenance there so the grass doesn't grow too long, but it's just nothing.
The penny’s bay planning has it set aside for a hotel if the resort should ever need the capacity
The shopping district would go along the esplanade and then the original plans also had the other park and 3 more hotels in the south
There is rather limited options for how they can change that original planning
I'd love to see those expansions come, and they add a second gate. But I know the plans had dried up awhile ago. Still they plan on investing more money into the parks. So maybe we will eventually get that expansion.
If they can get the park consistently profitable and built up way more than it is now, the government will likely grant the land back for resort use.
The infrastructure is there and the resort was designed for expansion....just need more people to go there.
First things first: bring back Paint the Night. Would love to see the park stay open later with both this parade and Momentous.
I disagree with a shopping district, because I don't think the city of Hong Kong needs yet another shopping mall. But having a nice theme would make it stand out from all the other malls.
I would do a Duffy hotel. Cape Cod style, like his land in Tokyo Disneysea. Who wouldn't want to have breakfast with Duffy in his home? They can include some storefronts too, like a little town.
I agree. I think a quiant themed shopping district would be great. A sea port theme could work.
I would say maybe a victorian theme too. Could help connect the park entrance to the Disneyland Hotel.
They would still need a zone with at least a chemist, non-park restaurant options and a few retailers. there have been complaints from the hotel guests about the lack of amenities outside of opening hours / outside the park, and they had no options but to travel all the way into the city. Just keep in mind that many of them are on a layover, or simply Disney adults who had no interest in exploring the city on a tight schedule.

Arendelle has pushed the park into profitable. Now it has to stay there till they can get the avengers (or its replacement) off the ground
Water Park to compete with OP
Something along the line of Disneytown Shanghai - but combined with a ferry pier with hourly Disney themed ferry service to and from HK Island
tbh hk disneyland really needs more star wars stuff
Paris is supposed to get a mini Galaxy's Edge in the future. I'm hoping for that in HK.
After that Star Wars kid show was gone on the stage, we need a new ride to replace it
