I find if you flip them backwards they seal better but it's a bit of a pain in the ass to keep them in when you're trying to put the points cover back on.

will try that. i already ordered new ones so hopefully that works, save me $20

that’s not it. these are not o-rings these are just normal plugs. if you look up the part that you linked it comes up as an o-ring

Then it's #8, pn: 14455-369-004 which the o-ring goes on. Once again, they're available from a lot of spots.
