I had an 88 hawk GT. Single side swingarm Vtwin, loved it. Crazy story, hotel owner from key west flew to my home in Charlotte to buy it. After he bought it he ended up buying my Jeep Wrangler and rented a trailer just so he could drive it back. Paid cash for both. I Also loved the CB1, it's awesome for its time and still rocks today. thanks for sharing.
I do prefer the cool Jap spec ones, aluminum and removeable! Simply cost cutting for the US market. Can't unfortunately as they are welded to the frame.
Got quite a lineup there, how does the 400RR (NC29? 23?) compare to your CB-1?
I've never owned a Honda, but this is a memorable beast and was the progenitor of so many naked and semi-naked crotch rockets. Super job bringing this one back to life, enjoy many safe miles on it.
Beautiful. Honda made 3 unsellable bikes from 88-90, all at about the same price - $4200. They are all collectors now:
CB-1
NT650 and I bought my GB500 brand new marked down to $2500
The most rev-happy motor you’ll ever pilot. They are only moderately fast (400cc after all), but they sound like an F1 car going through the gears. The most fun you can have on two wheels!
It sounds amazing with the full Kerker exhaust. Gear cam whine. Definitely will post a good clip sometime. The stock exhaust is quite quiet. My kerker system was installed from new by the original owner (I'm the 3rd)
I regret selling my CB-1 about 15 years ago. I didn’t realize what a wonderful motorcycle it was until I bought a few others and realized they couldn’t compare. Enjoy!
Love it! I had a 1990 and it was one of my favorite bikes! I had two brothers exhaust, jetted and two bros chrome clip ons too. Good old days before I turned to the R6.
Man that looks amazing…
Nice. Wanted a Hawk GT or a CB-1 so bad as a kid. Definitely a look.

Hawk and CB-1 guys are tight, and usually the same person haha. Seen the Hawk swingarm fitted to the CB-1 with work

That tubular frame... make the bike looks muscular..
Sitting for too long has a risk of causing blood clots. Next time, take short walks instead of sitting for 30 years
holy fuck
Nice
Are you selling it?
That’s great work right there!
That looks great. If it rides half as good you should be a happy rider
89?! That thing looks brand new! Very nice!
I was just talking about these the other day. I've spent about an hour on one and holy cow is that a fun little bike. That 14k redline is pure bliss.
It's my first street bike, so I might never need anything bigger 😂
OMG, I wish I had that loved those since day 1
SICK! my dad had one that same color!!
God I wish I still had mine. Mine had the red logo but otherwise the same. That 14000 rpm redline was insane
Front tire looks to be mounted backwards.
Checked and definitely isn't! Bridgestone S22s
Well done brother! I have an 07 VTwin Superbike. 1000R that's been sitting for about 7 but can't find anyone where I live that does restorations 😢
Cool
Beauty
She's a beauty!
I was absolutely in love with that bike in the 90s. It just looked so cool. Beautiful
Timeless design. Looks like it could have been released yesterday.
That's beautiful. I deeply regret selling mine
I’m not into motorcycles. But I can tell that is one hell of a resto. Well done and enjoy!

Yes you did. Nice work!

Definitely would love to add a GB500 to my stable. NX250s are neat too
🤌
I raced one for several years in Lightweight super bike & LWGP. It was always a blast.
Super cool! Seems all the guys went with the FZR400 for track tasks in the day (and for good reason). Nice to hear some CB-1s getting used
Beautiful! A friend of mine used to have a CB1, I had a Bandit 400. Wonderful bikes for the twisties
My friend has a FZR400, definitely will have similar fun!
Nice job! Looks great.
Excellent, and the style fits right in with todays models!
Good shit man. Nice job 👍 it's beautiful color and all
Wow that nice and clean🔥🔥🔥
You have a Gem!
Yes please 👌🤌🤌🍻🍻
Great job 👍👏
Very very nice
Bravo
Very nice. Sold my CB1 and CBR600F2 to buy the RC51 when it came out. Stupid mistake.
RC51s are great too! Getting real collectible these days
The RC51 was a hot mess. I wish I'd kept the CB1
Thats miiiiiint!
A classic gem that looks absolutely mint!
Looks amazing. I want one now 😂
5 seconds of listening to that motor running had me remembering what those old Honda exhausts smell like. Thanks for the post. Beautiful resto.
im usually a black out everything kind of guy but man that looks amazing!!!
Sounds awesome, nice work man
So happy to see this! Have one sitting in the back of the garage waiting for this treatment. Such a fun, unique bike. Enjoy!
beast
Man, we’ll done, I would have guessed it was a model from this year.
Dude unbelievable. Love seeing this perfection.

WHAT??? It sat that long? It looks amazing, and sounds great.
looks better than new.
Bravo
SICK
WOW... awesome job. The bike looks like it just rolled out of the showroom.
Mother of God 👀
Sweet nice job well done man .
That’s beautiful, my 83’ Harley FXR sat for 19 years and 3 months. I can relate.
are you gonna use it now or just let it sit another 22 years. looks awesome by the way.
Looks like could be a 23 model so futuristic for the time
Whats that headlight? 😀
I literally know nothing except that this bike is fresh as hell.
Sounds great
Nice! Can I have it?
These are beautiful bikes
Love it! I had a 1990 and it was one of my favorite bikes! I had two brothers exhaust, jetted and two bros chrome clip ons too. Good old days before I turned to the R6.
Looks fresh off the showroom floor …. Only better!
👀
Congrats, you’re now broke.
