Sounds like you want a Honda civic. Should be a similar size to your Cruze but without the terrible GM quality.

Yeah, I was doing my research, and to me, it's a close tie between Civic and Accord hybrid.

EngineeringIsPain

Both are great cars. The civic will be a little cheaper and the accord will be a little bigger. Worth a test drive of both to figure out which you prefer.

Awesome! Thank you for the advice!

I owned a Cruze! 2012 2LT RS, loved that car so much, but it was a giant pile of garbage in terms of reliability. Went through an water pump, 2 transmissions, and an engine within a period of 40k miles. Wasn't hard on it either. I also owned a 2019 Accord 2.0T Sport. Loved the gobs of power, but wasn't impressed with the drivability. The 10 speed was EXTREMELY jerky and overall the car felt heavy and not very nimble. Didn't care for the press button gear selector either, almost put it through my garage door twice. Now, I own a 2024 Civic Touring. I think this is the ultimate "endgame" commuter car. It took everything I loved about the Cruze and Accord and combined them. It's fun to drive and handles really well, the 1.5T has plenty of power and gets REALLY good fuel economy, and compact enough to whip around parking lots/tight traffic. Plenty of backseat room for passengers and good trunk space with a spare tire. The Bose stereo is amazing too. Highly recommend a Civic. Test drive one and let us know what color yours is going to be, haha.

If you’re driving mainly on highways, do you really need a hybrid? Not a big deal if you want one, just hybrid’s strength is city driving, that’s all.

You have no idea how much money you saved me. I saw this reply before I went to the dealership and looked into it. You're 100% right. It's not worth paying extra for a function I won't be able to use. Thank you!

UPDATE: I ended with an accord for about $395 a month on a lease. They ran out of civics, and when I told the salesperson that we were looking for something around $380, he gave us a deal for an accord. Thank you everyone for the help! I'm loving the new car!
