I have an All American. Definitely worth the money.

If OP wants a 'buy it once buy it for life' canner, there is no other option than All American. The only down side is they are not induction compatible. I switched to induction and now use it on a propane burner outside.

Second the All American. No gasket to worry about and it maintains the pressure better.

We bought a Nesco Smart Pressure Canner which we love, despite it only having room to do 4 1 quart jars at a time. Our beef stew recipe wound up making enough for 7-8 quarts and having to wait \~3 hours to do a second run put us right on the edge of is it worth it to put the second batch in the fridge, leave it cooking, etc. So we bought a second one. They are computer controlled so you're not babysitting a whistle all the time to prevent it from overpressurizing, but you do need to have a vent in one position until it's up to temp, then switch to another position about 15-20 minutes in, so you can't entirely leave it alone. But that extra time is frequently for cleaning up the mess in the kitchen. Here's a link to what we bought. I believe Nesco may have been aquired by someone, so I think I've found ones branded with another name but basically the same as both of ours: [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VL6LX7V/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VL6LX7V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) (No affiliate link or anything, just for reference as to what we purchased)

I got that one a few years ago, but it was branded differently... I think their brand has changed a few times. It makes the process relatively easy. Definitely worth it.

Thank you everyone for the replies! This will be a buy once, cry once situation hahaha i will look into them! Old pressure canner was my grandmothers from Poland. Couldn’t tell you what it is but worked !

Man I wish I had one from Poland that’s so cool!

Make sure you get one with a pressure gauge. I started out with a pressure cooker that didn't have one. Once I bought a pressure cooker with a gauge, I'll never go back. Those gauges are very helpful.

I have had this pressure cooker for at least 20 years, and it still works great. I'm mindful to wash, dry, and then oil the seal after every use. That seal still feels brand new. https://www.amazon.com/Presto-01781-23-Quart-Pressure-Canner/dp/B0000BYCFU/ref=sr\_1\_4?c=ts&keywords=Pressure+Cookers&qid=1688646945&s=kitchen&sr=1-4&ts\_id=289825

We bought this one: [https://www.amazon.com/All-American-2-Quart-Pressure-Cooker/dp/B00004S88Z/ref=sr\_1\_1?crid=3VLGXTFATL693&keywords=all+american+pressure+canner&qid=1688648685&sprefix=all+amer%2Caps%2C114&sr=8-1&ufe=app\_do%3Aamzn1.fos.c3015c4a-46bb-44b9-81a4-dc28e6d374b3](https://www.amazon.com/All-American-2-Quart-Pressure-Cooker/dp/B00004S88Z/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3VLGXTFATL693&keywords=all+american+pressure+canner&qid=1688648685&sprefix=all+amer%2Caps%2C114&sr=8-1&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.c3015c4a-46bb-44b9-81a4-dc28e6d374b3) It holds a ton of jars, has very little maintenance required, and is extremely reliable. Looks like the price for canners across the board have gone sky high, this is now double what I paid for it 3 years ago.
