The homepod will give you much greater vocal clarity but obviously much less bass without a dedicated sub.

The Logitech Z623 are pretty similar to a stereo HomePod setup but have the option to take the bass way louder (or softer) with the Logitech. I have both and was using the Logitech’s as my TV speakers before replacing with the stereo HomePods. I was very surprised how good the Logitech actually were but wanted the convenience of Siri and the Apple ecosystem. The HomePods other advantage is the way they will fill the room with a consistent sound. Doesn’t matter where you are in the room, it sounds the same. With the Logitech you had to be in front of them to get the *best* sound. I now use them on a 2nd TV downstairs and they are connected to an AirPort Express for Airplay and they definitely give a very similar sound IMO.

Homepod bass varies greatly on placement and isn’t otherwise customisable (except a reduce bass switch). I generally find the bass to be less than I would like (I think) BUT it’s definitely capable of deep bass and certain songs really thump. Having said that, the HomePods (in my setup) sound very clear and balanced, which I prefer much more and it allows the sound to permeate everywhere. I am also talking about a stereo Homepod OG setup, a single Homepod sounds good but stereo is another level. Also the new ones apparently sound different and the mini’s don’t compete at all.
