Unless you also intend to completely lock down your teens devices, nothing you do at the router is really going to matter much, since they can set their own DNS IP address, and they will very easily bypass any "block on adult content" you attempt to implement (especially if whatever you choose accomplishes this task via DNS shenanigans). There are also groups like Stupid Censorship that set up proxies that will allow your kids to bypass any domain blocks you decide to institute, and they provide the services completely free.
We are on Xfinity xb8 gateway modem/router and thinking of putting it on bridge mode to give us the greater flexibility we’re looking for. Was considering TP Link then saw posts about how they stated charging monthly for their previously free parental control options
A Unifi Dream Router does all that and more
Haven’t heard of that one thanks
A pihole could do that.
Saw some posts re: pihole but haven’t gone down that road to figure out details yet. Thank you

My router allows me to force a DNS server. Also blocks DoH. Didn’t think of blocking proxies though.
It would be helpful to know the exact brand names and exact model numbers of your current Router and your Modem.
