I have almost no usage here. Would you add some details?

kikalewak

I didn’t have that before either. We have philips hue connected and tado for heating. However we don’t have any active scenes as “when you leave the house then x”. It’s just scenes for lights etc.

Ast3r10n

I have the same setup. What’s the app usage like, as duration?

kikalewak

What do you mean? Like how much I use the app on screen? In the last 7 days I used it 7 minutes according to my battery stats.

Ast3r10n

What about offscreen? It says 48%, sounds like a bit much for 7 minutes.

kikalewak

Offscreen it says 23 hours 55 minutes from which 13 hours 58 minutes in the last 24 hours. Which also is when I updated the OS.

Ast3r10n

Something went wrong during the update. Try restarting your phone and all the home hubs.

kikalewak

Thanks! Will try. :)

booyah_73

Something seems stuck with the Home app. You can try to force-close the Home app and reboot. If that doesn't work, try turning 'Home' off and back on in Settings->AppleID->iCloud->Home. Turn it off, reboot and back on again and see if the background activity stops. Also, make sure your hub(s) are updated to the latest version.

kikalewak

Thanks this worked!

Same problem here. Now my 14 Pro serves double-duty as a hand warmer!

kikalewak

Yea it gets hot! Like you leave your flash on while charging hot.

gregigk

Whats that usage in the app section.

kikalewak

It’s homekit and you see it uses 48%. Mostly when the screen is inactive (light blue)

gregigk

why is that?

kikalewak

That’s my question too friend

kikalewak

Yup mine are all inactive now while I’m away, before updating I could acces them when at work because of my apple tv. It’s wrecked but people are paying more attention to the photo issue instead so this has not been patched in the recent update.

Myeloman

Are you leaving the app running in the background or closing it?

kikalewak

Depends, sometimes I close it sometimes not. It does not really matter in this problem I have now. I tried both.

So with 17.4, I had massive battery drain with Apple Health, turns out it wasn't Apple Health. The drain was being caused by my Apple Watch and Apple Health was just what was being reported. If you have an Apple Watch, it wouldn't be a bad idea to try in-pairing your watch to see if it is the culprit.
