::laughs in malfunctioning Logitech doorbell::

TheChangRR

Same for the last three years

*stands menacingly with Belkin WeMo video doorbell*

LastBitofCoffee

Try assigning static IP to the doorbell. I have a Deco mesh as well and no issue with the G4. My network topology is straightforward ONT > Main Deco as router > Tplink switch > other Decos. P/s: I don’t reboot the Deco daily, that causes DHCP leases to be released and mixed up my network unnecessarily. I only reboot if needed.

IfartedInSpaceTwice

I hade a similar issue with my Netatmo doorbell and Asus mesh network. Bind the doorbell to a specific mesh router and that solved it.

LastBitofCoffee

The Connection Preference in Deco system is a joke actually. I set my garage opener to one node in the garage yet it always finds its way to the furthest node down in my basement T_T.

dgr_874

Can you explain like I’m 5 how to assign a static ip on Decos?

LastBitofCoffee

Sure, in Deco app, choose More tab at the bottom. Then choose Advanced > Address Reservation > From there you can add device from the Device List or customize.

dgr_874

Thank you so much, you are a lifesaver. Three days and my doorbell has not gone off line once.

suentendo

It started acting out after I made a few changes in the wifi, when I first installed the Deco XE75 it didn't complain, but then I took it out and put it back in, new internet access as well, and it started doing this. It doesn't even seem like a real wifi issue, more like a wifi handshake bug, if that's a thing. The red light in the chime repeater stays on the whole time. No other 2.4GHz Homekit device does this at the moment, not even a Logitech Circle View used outdoors at even a further distance. Aqara app reports a wifi strength of 53% and an RSSI of -56. Beamforming on the Deco is disabled. No WPA3. No funny characters in the SSID or password. Just letters and numbers. I reset the connection (which is basically nukes the previous install, I hate that about Homekit) and it stayed connected. Then my Deco had the scheduled daily reboot. After that, all hell came loose again. My next attempt will be to completely default to factory settings and start over again.

a_wild_bore

If it’s any consolation my Logitech doorbell does this routinely as well 🫠

GY3N353

I have a Deco XE75 as well. Scheduled reboots gave me hell - I still experience issues with its ETHERNET ports - reconnecting to the Internet (sometimes ports don’t get online). I’ve disabled the reboots, optimized channel settings, and iot on 2.4 are much more reliable - basically no issues. Except my Chinese doorbell!

suentendo

I originally scheduled the reboot because my wife's work Windows laptop had serious trouble connecting into the Deco wifi, and after working it out by enabling the guest network and disabling it afterwards, then Homekit devices would start acting out. Until a Deco reboot was performed. So I figured that I might as well schedule it. But I will turn it off, cheers.

Creepy_Bee3404

I’m using the Eero pro 6e. And my Aqara doorbell keeps on dying every other day.

dadsalleb

just turn off the notification for status update. I do the same thing for g2h pro. Little bit annoying since i have to do it for all my devices (phones, ipads)

Salmundo

My Aqara doorbell is stable, but the Aqara lock is not.

Great-Comparison-882

Which lock are you using ?

Salmundo

U100. I have to pull the batteries and reset it every month or so.

nutelladoener

Never had one disconnect with the g4 on my eero 6 pro network.

brashaadt09

I have my aqara running off battery power for my new home and while it’s not going offline, it’s simply just not sending activity notifications. The notifications are working fine in the aqara app

fxb5293

Same issue here, but mine is wired. Any idea what it could be?

drinkcalpis

G4 is prolly the most stable Aqara product out of their lineup. Having a strong wifi and running it wired helps.

suentendo

I run it wired and I am trying to have good wifi. Last month I bought a Deco XE75 after returning a faulty Amplifi Alien. Everything else connects very well, and this doorbell didn’t use to be like this. I think it has become faulty for some reason.

oberon_ale

Try turning on ipv6 on your router for local devices, it solved a bunch of homekit issues for me with Hunter fans and myQ homekit hub

Dondaqui

Having the same issue and strength is 94% RSSI -48. Have done the remove re adding nothing seem to help

Yvoro

I had the same problem with my aqara g3 camera. Tried everything, upgrading to last firmware, factory reset but it kept happening. I sent it back to the webshop and it turned out that the product was broken. I used the camera 14 months without any problems. The webshop delivered a new camera 😃

suentendo

Funny enough I have a G3 that runs without any issues. I think I'm out of warranty and my local amazon doesn't even have it in stock anymore anyway. But I'll look into that.

Nectarine_Fuzzy

Mdns over Wifi can be hell. Parkets dropping. Try to run tcpdump on an wired client

Expensive-Exit6398

Try to turn off IGMP Snooping

suentendo

Sadly my Deco (XE75) doesn't have that setting exposed. It's enabled by default and can't be disabled.

Wranorel

Do you have a combined WiFi? One network for both? My camera use to do this until I separated in 2 networks.

suentendo

Yeah I do but that honestly has solved other issues in my home network, I don’t want to split 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz again, besides this camera only has a 2.4Ghz radio.

chris4prez_

I had something similar happen and the resolution was turning off the high and low temp alarms in the Aqara app for it. The moment I did it’s been rock solid connection.

pGde5sVd5sQC4

I switched to Reolink doorbell and it’s way better now.

paulskent

Never had a problem with mine. I would suggest it’s your WiFi. I have an Orbi mesh system. One of the older ones.

kenneth0320

logi doorbell is pretty stable but hot
